Bleak vocational indicators?

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to interpret my natal chart for career indication and all i am getting is that a solitary work that deals with spiritual or public nature is recommended. I don't have any planets in the 6th house and my midheaven is in Leo and the its ruling planet is found in my 12th house which is rule by Libra. This creates a dualism i feel like because my Libran sun is very social while the 12th house is very much about going inward. Coupled with my moon in 9th house I am supposed to work best in small groups or independently. I have Saturn in my 2nd house which is obvious interpretation of limitation and lack regarding money earning. So it looks contradictory and discouraging and definitely not pointing me towards an area of specialty.

I was considering going for higher education since my moon is in 9th but I don't want it to be something that only gives me personal satisfaction and can't use it to support myself financially in the long term.

Any insight or interpretations would be greatly appreciated.

Having moon in 9th house suggests you could well emigrate for work and live abroad.

Career options are assessed by MC any planets conjunct, where the ruler of MC is placed, it’s aspects, then 2nd house ‘how you earn your money’ and planets there, ruler of cusp and where it’s placed, then 6th house of ‘type of work you do’ any planets there and how they are aspected.

Researching rulers of houses will help you understand more where I joining the dots so to speak

Saturn in 2nd can suggst a 'fear of poverty' and not having enough, whilst Uranus there and badly challenged suggests sudden gains and sudden shocks and upheavals with square to mars/venus in 11th. Watch you don't loan money are ask for a loan from friends as they may well break down

Scorpio/pluto rules 2nd and is placed in 1st. Now scorpio is extremely private, analytical sign that enjoys digging and delving into matters. Pisces/ Neptune ruls 6th and generationally forms a sextile aspect.

Uranus is also a singleton ie: only planet in fire element which your chart lacks this impetus/energy..

Singleton planets
“If a planet happens to be the only one in an element, quality, or house type, that planet is a Singleton and it can funnel all of the “energy” of the horoscope. This planet is often the most important one in the horoscope. In other words, if you just interpret the position of this one planet by sign, house, and aspect, you will get to the “heart of the horoscope”. The effect is the same as if that planet were the only one on one side of the chart.”

(There is a book out by Shirley Lyons Meier, "Elemental Voids, More than Meets the Eye", which gives a good discussion of missing elements.) The Inferior Function can be a source of great motivation and creative expression.

Re: Bleak vocational indicators?

This is not a bleak chart at all. The vocational indicators in traditional astrology are Mercury, Venus and Mars. Your main significator is Mercury which is rising in the first whole sign house. It is above the horizon, at a reasonable distance from the Sun, and in its joy. This is very favorable for all mercurial occupations such as in education, communications, management, accounting, computer science and as a merchant etc. Mercury rules the 9th whole sign house so you should have no trouble with formal education. The Moon in essential dignity rules the 10th whole sign house. This indicates ordinary occupations but working with people and you will probably be promoted and attain a degree of status in your work.

Re: Bleak vocational indicators?

Thank you for your insights. It really helps me to consider my options. I know that a person may also have many career indicators and what I am finding by doing research is that different vocational techniques reveal a different aspect to our charts.

It just seems to broaden our horizon.

Also even with career indicators and things that may suit as like a glove; the considerations for the economy, where we live and where we would like to be in the future needs to be considered.

Saturn is in my second house and hence i am attracted to fields that may offer me security in the future. Yet Mercury and Venus always seems to drag me towards creative pursuits but i feel like it is not necessarily going to give me financial independence or security as I would like.

Since I have Pluto in my first house i am always transforming my views and ideals but with career I just can't play around anymore. Everyday people are struggling to keep their jobs/careers and/or changing into completely new fields and it is distressing to wonder if they are struggling even doing what they love.

I think also for young woman as myself thinking of the future does not hurt. I would like to have kids and all the hoopla that comes with managing work, money, relationships on top of it all just makes me want to choose something that will have stable energy to pull me through.

I have been doing research into the medical fields and creative fields and higher education fields trying to give and take the good and the bad along with my chart.
