Stock Options as Compensation - 2 or 8 house?

Hi
In the field that I work in stock options are given as part of the compensation package. I've read that stock options are shown in the 8th house, but this doesn't make sense to me...

Would stock options given by an employer be shown in 2nd or 8th house?

Business investments are an 8th house matter. Why wouldn't this make sense?

It's confusing because I'm not buying stocks as an investment, rather they're given to me as part of my compensation.

Salary, bonus & stocks are the 3 main parts of a compensation package in the tech industry (maybe other industries, too, but I wouldn't know). You negotiate the amounts of all 3 when you're hired. It's all part of your pay...

Buying stock as an investment, or choosing a mutual fund comprised of stocks for your IRA, etc. definitely is 8House

I can see how it's tempting to use the 2nd house for this as it appears to be part of your earned income, but regardless of how they were acquired, stocks are still business investments and therefore I would regard them as an 8th house matter.

8th house is other people's finances, sex, death, insurances inheritances..
