Thinking of being a Pharmacist, is this a good idea?
I'm thinking of switching my major in college and becoming a Pharmacist, do you see it in my chart?? What else do you see as a good career for me?

Re: Thinking of being a Pharmacist, is this a good idea?
I think you would be good at it. The profession of pharmacy is ruled by Mars and Scorpio. You have Mars dignified in Scorpio. Its position in the 12th house might be considered misfortunate by some, but this house includes hospitals and people who are shut-in or institutionalized in some way; so the meaning of the 12th house seems appropriate for a pharmacist.
The ruler of your MC, or career house cusp, is in health-oriented Virgo, which is ruled by Mercury. Your Mercury is in your 6th house of health, work, and service. I note that your Mercury is in Taurus, which indicates a methodical, if slow thinker. This is OK by me--if I am having a prescription filled, I want the pharmacist to get it right, even if it takes a little longer!
There are some stressors in your chart surrounding your career, with Mars and Saturn opposing your moon/Mercury; so you may experience this field as somewhat stressful. On the other hand, having an emphasis on the 12th and 6th houses suggests you will do fine if you focus on the service you are doing for people who need your work.
All of the above subject to your doing well in chemistry classes, &c.!

Wow thank you so much!!
It's funny that you mentioned chemistry class, because I was stressing over if I can do well in that class and Math. That was the only thing that had me questioning this. Ive heard the schooling is very hard and stressful. So I was a bit intimidated lol I was told the actual job is stressful because of the long hours but I think I can handle that stress.

Re: Thinking of being a Pharmacist, is this a good idea?
Following is based on whole sign house format)
As Waybread noted, Mars/Scorpio are affinitive to pharmacy/medicine making; also note that Mars and/or Saturn in the 1st is often associated with doctors/healers (I myself have both Mars and Saturn in my first house, just like you do)
Mercury-great ruler of healing and all exoteric and esoteric sciences-is strongly placed in a pivot and conjunct the Moon (showing you have the emotional strength for Mercury-affinitive fields, like medicine/pharmacy) but it is in opposition to Mars-hence the stress dedicated by Waybread: obviously you will have to channel and corral some of your Martial qualities in order to succeed in Mercurial fields of endeavor (like pharmacy)
Also, Moon is in a pitted degree: shows potential difficulties with the emotional outlook relative to Mercury matters (with which the Moon is conjunct) Fortunately the Moon is also in its exaltation in Taurus (and in a pivot), which gives strength, but still something is blocked relative to Lunar qualities (shown by the pit), or at least not fully expressed, and whatever that is, you will have to overcome it, otherwise because of its conjunction with Mercury it could have a blocking or inhibiting influence on going forward with Mercurial matters (such as pharmacy)-since its the Moon, maybe it has to do with self-motivation connected with self-confidence issues?
Neptune is right at the cusp of the 3rd whole sign house, and is rx (back toward the second) Close enough (and with the rx toward the 2nd) to indicate that 2nd house matters (like money) are likely to have a Neptune influence upon them: Neptune has to do with drugs (and also hidden or occult things of all kinds) and Neptune in the 2nd can indicate money from unusual activities/undertakings, and also money from things connected with drugs (such as, of course, pharmacy)
Moon, Mercury, Neptune in Earth element shows abilities to make the matters ruled by these planets practical-to take them to a practical level-and since all 3 planets have various degrees of affinity to medicines/drugs/remedies, this can also be looked at as favorable for a phamacist career.

Dr. Farr, How fascinating that you and I could come from very different astrology "schools" and yet reach the same conclusion about whether or not pharmacy would be a good career for GeminiStarr.

Re: Thinking of being a Pharmacist, is this a good idea?
Thank You Dr. Farr I really appreciate it. I think the blockage is my self confidence and self motivation. I have a fear that I wont do well in school. But I still feel the urge to go forward with this and I will. I am fighting to overcome my fears.

Re: Thinking of being a Pharmacist, is this a good idea?
GeminiStarr, many, many students feel as you do, and fear that they won't succeed. If you just focus on good study habits, and ask your prof. or teaching assistant for after-class explanations of anything you didn't understand, you should do just fine.
