Progression chart when you've moved half way across the world?

Hi, advice will be appreciated. I've looked at the sticky's but can't find more info on this.

I know how to do a transit/progression chart on astro.com but I'm not sure if that chart is still accurate when I've moved half way across the world from where I was born. Would a transit/progression chart still be accurate? I understand a relocation chart is something entirely different.

I'm not sure what to do and don't want to start interpreting if its not going to be accurate. What do I do?

Your 9th house will show what is going on with you living abroad and transits there as well as any progressions are valid, yes. If you are working abroad I would look at your 6th house as well. The 4th can show the move as well. It is complicated and there are many scenarios.

Good question Flowergirl, I've been looking at this issue myself and so far have found the natal birthplace to be the strongest manifestation, however I feel that the 4 angles should be studied closely in the new location. I don't think that this is a simple issue, you are probably going to have to study numerous charts of people who have relocated in order to draw any meaningful conclusions!

For what its worth, in Solar Return I always use the current location as basis; for profection the fundamental natal chart is profected as is (based on the birth location @1 sign advance per year); in simple symbolic progression I also use the original natal chart (not modified for current location), advancing all elements 1 degree per year of life. My approach to transits is too radical to present here, however, I always use the unmodified (original birth place) natal positions for transits.
