Badly aspected ascendent

Hi guys

Something that concerns me is how badly aspected my ascendent is. Three squares and an opposition!

Ascendent Square S. Node
Ascendent Square Mars
Ascendent Square Jupiter
(Mars and Jupiter and conjunct too)
Ascendent Opposition Sun

The only "nice" one seems to be Ascendent Trine Saturn and I think that just's supposed to make me boring I do wonder how that and the Mercury Sextile Saturn and Scorpio Mercury and 5th house Saturn and the frivolous outgoing non-stop talking strong Gemini Moon, Ascendent and Sag Sun get along together though Heh, heh, heh, Jekyll and Hyde...

But anyway back to the topic on hand, my poor, poor ascendent

So can anyone tell me what all these nasty squares and oppositions to my ascendent mean? The ascendent is to do with the self right, your "face"? Does this mean that I have a terrible "face" or image?

I have an opposition Moon and Sun too. *Sigh* It seems that all of the major parts of my chart hate each other. Actually, now that I look at it, the Moon and Sun both have quite a few squares and oppositions too with the Moon having a particular nasty Square with Saturn and an Opposition with Neptune...But anyway, back to the main topic, what does a badly aspected ascendent do? Does it mean I act really badly? My public face is particularly nasty? How should I meet this challenge?

It is an unfortunate fact in todays society that this is becoming all too common but if you just obliterate your surname then all should be ok. With this in mind it is nice to address people by first name which would not give much away or you could use a pseudonym.

Actually, it's not my real name but a pseudonym after my two best friends. On reflection I think maybe I'm just paranoid...Well, I do have Mercury in Scorpio

I think the real problem I have here is I'm still rather confused about the ascendent. With a badly aspected moon it's clear that there are emotional problems. A badly aspected sun means identity issues. However, I still don't really get what an ascendent means. I can repeat the words about what an ascendent means, "self", your "face" but I don't really have a good grasp of it. I was thinking it might mean that the way you interact with others might be bad, but that seems to describe square to the Descendent bit rather than square to the Ascendent bit. "Self" issues sounds too close to the "identity" issues related to a badly aspected Sun. Actually now that I think about it learning what a badly aspected ascendent is might be useful in helping me understand what an ascendent really means...
