Saturn/Mars Synastry - doomed?

I know a lot of people have different opinions on this, and I've heard most people say that Mars/Mars square is bad and Saturn/Mars square is even worse. But my question is, how bad is it and do you guys believe certain very good aspects can cancel out bad ones or lesson the effects?? Or, if not, what do you think? Here's my situation, and the reason I ask.

ME: Mars: Aquarius Saturn: Scorpio
My Boyfriend: Mars: Scorpio Saturn: Scorpio

So you can see, that our Mars are square, My Mars is square his Saturn, and my Saturn is conjunct his Mars and his Saturn. So the questions is, Mars/Mars square and Mars/Saturn square are bad right, but I've also read that Saturn/Mars Conjunct is also not so good BUT, read that Saturn/Saturn Conjunct IS good.

So I'm wondering if that Saturn/Saturn Conjunct can either cancel out or ease the bad aspecting Mars and Saturn for us? And do you think long-term this is going to be the end of us or do you think that the good aspects can help ease or over come hard ones? I just really would like to know so that I can try to be aware of what to expect on the long-term. We've been together a little over 1 1/2 years so we haven't experience LONG TERM yet. We do have other good aspects too like Venus/Venus and Mercury/Mercury conjunct, sextile suns and moons. Does anyone else have experience with this that can offer long term experience?
