Considering a career change after finishing college
Hello all, I'm currently in my second year of post-graduate work in a field that I've worked in with minimal success for the past six or seven years if one counts undergraduate and graduate studies. I'm constantly burned out and tired of feeling like I'm fighting an uphill battle. Issue is that I haven't really a clue what else to consider a meaningful career in, as I'm just not sure what I want out of life at this point.
I'm hoping someone can shed some light, as I see parts of my natal chart that can describe characteristics, but I can't quite paint the full picture.
I'll give it an attempt, hopefully someone can help me put pieces together.
Since 10th house is ruled by Gemini, we look for Mercury. I see 0 Degree Leo Merc in 11th house, but Merc is in Fall in Leo.
Merc is trined by a Sagi Saturn at the IC cusp, which is nice for seeing details and foresight into how things might turn out.
Merc is trining (barely) a retro Pisces Jupiter in the 7th, indicating delays and going-back. Since its Jupiter in Pisces, this would indicate thoughts towards inner growth, philosophical and spiritual beliefs. This doesn't seem to help much in terms of career though.
Merc is sextiling (but seperating) from a Libra Venus in the 2nd. I don't recall too much about triplicity, but since 2nd house is personal fortune and I've got Libra Venus there, this might help... though I'm not sure how.
Merc is squaring a Scorp Pluto in 3rd house. Great for investigating, research, detail, natural curiosity on the "why?" of things. I've already tried pursuing this from my university studies. Not too good at it apparently.
Merc sextiling from MC. Not sure how this fits in, even though MC is supposed to be career and outward appearance.
Also as a runner-up, I have Chiron in the 10th house, but not conjunct MC.
So, any suggestions on career paths that I might be able to whittle down from?

Re: Considering a career change after finishing college
After doing a bit more additional research, as I thought was expected on the boards, I also came across my Saturn opposite MC, indicating leadership positions, but a strong need to support self-worth and dealing with past psychological issues. This last part isn't related to career, I just thought it was interesting.
For the Chiron in 10th house, this tends to indicate having an ability to help others succeed, but not myself. Altruistic roles perhaps? I'm not sure.
Anyway, does anyone out there see ideas for strengths or weaknesses in my chart for a career path to consider?

I like to keep things simple. Your Midheaven ruler is in the outer world self-expression house, suggesting an interest in humanitarian-type activities. This is also the house of science, innovation, computers, so these are also possibilities. The Midheaven ruler is VERY aspected, so this energy connects in well with the chart. The Midheaven ruler easily aspects the Midheaven, so the ruler goes well with outer world (Midheaven) activities. The midheaven ruler (thinking, also writing/daily work, also analysis) is good for thinking and analysis, so look around for jobs that use these skills.
Astro-simply,
Tim

Re: Considering a career change after finishing college
Wilson,
Somehow I knew that would come up, but I was looking to see if there anything else was indicated in the chart that I might be able to lean on. Things aren't quite working out along those fields, or maybe I've just got a really rough transit that has made me lose confidence in my ability to study the sciences.

Sciences are one possibility, but humanitarian activities are also indicated. And consider that you have Chiron in the career house, suggesting that you need to be wounded and healed in terms of your career. This alone suggests that career will not be an "easy road" for you. Working through your confidence issues in career will help you learn the Chironic lesson about career and be able to "face the pain".
Suggesting,
Tim
