Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

I'm looking forward to having Jupiter in Sag BUT... Read that there is a great tendancy to pile on that extra lbs when Jupiter transits 1st house. I'm a Sag rising and Jupiter is getting nearer to my 1st house... it is going to trine Sun, Venus and Jupiter in my fifth. I believe life will be much easier BUT will I have to start hunting for that XXXXL shirt???

Not really, I have a friend who has Jupiter transiting her 1st House and she doesn't become "larger"... She's just more joyful, full with life...

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

Hi Bale,
Jupiter is full of optimism, loves the 'good life' and fulfilling its ideals. As long as you're doing that, no problems! Watch out for excesses in 5th house activities. Jupiter will always generously provide you with more of what you've already got, and Sagittarius does rule the hip region. You might care to take up some kind of recreative sport if you have a tendancy to weight gain (afflicted natal Jupiter ?), as long as you don't overdo it.

After Jupiter's transit of your 12th house, increased introspection and inner knowledge, you should be more self-confident once Jupiter crosses your Ascendant and offers new opportunities to express it. Hopefully, personal happiness will be yours.

F.

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

One twelfth of the world population would have Jupiter in the ascendant and one twelfth of these would have Jupiter in ascendant in Sagittarius. We should see a large number of people overweight soon.

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

My mother & sister both have Scorpio ASC w/ transit Jup.
Neither gained weight.
Sis got a new job she loves, and moved.
She's also breaking up with her longtime b/f...Expressing how she
"really doesn't wanna get married, wants freedom instead"...lol
Mom I can't really tell anything exactly...

It takes more than just Jupiter to expand your waistline,
don't worry!

(BUT I do read Saturn aspecting ASC adds to weight loss,
that's just hearsay though..)

I have Jupiter weak in Cap in natal 1st, my metabolism
is on the faster side too.

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

In my prediction book here is what it says for Jupiter transiting the 1st house.
Quote:
The attitude and approach to life is cheerful and optimistic. Dynamic energy is enhanced; in fact there is almost too much of a good thing. Because Jupiter is the planet of expansion, great care must be taken that only the personality and approach to life expand, and not the body, too. For some people, this is a time when they can easily gain weight. Opportunities seem to present themselves. Confidence soars and personal magnetism increases.

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

There is a likelihood of gaining weight when Jupiter enters the 1st and rules the 5th, you may socialise more and eat and drink and be merry. However you can also do more exercise to compensate. Once Jupiter moves out of the 1st you will lose that weight if it is not your natural inclination to be overweight.

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

When Jupiter strolled through my 1st house I was excersing every day. Excercising was my passion under that transit. I do feel like weight could be gained with saturn in the 12th though. You get so lazy when saturn passes through the 12th that you don't have the energy to excercise as much as you might of before. L.

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

I have Saturn Transiting through my 12th and I have gained weight, I am now trying my best to exercise and diet. But yes you do feel really lazy and lethargic with Saturn in the 12th I can't wait till it goes through my 1st and I can be lovely and slim again (well hopefully).

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

Hello lillybelle,
I have Jupiter in my 1st house in Natal Chart, and in many astrologer say, that such a people is getting weight gain. That is not true. You know my birthdate, and I was only three years in my life more than 60 kg. Normally, untill 40 year I had 50 kg. After that, always 55 kg weight, by 165 cm of height.
It is clear, if somebody eats all day chocolate or cakes, that he has more weight, than the people, who has normal and healthy food.

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

Jupiter through the 1st has to have an echo in the natal chart of the same kind of aspects that give a tendency to gain weight. It is a hereditary inclination also. THe sign makes a difference and the chart ruler, planets in the 6th etc and the 4th.........

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

Shining Ray, Did you have a little more energy here recently when the sun passed through your first house? I did. I started running more, but then as soon as the sun went into my 2nd house, I started slacking off. You are a virgo rising if I recall corectly. I've noticed that I tend to get heavily into exercise each year when the sun passes through my first house. L.

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

I wasn't sure when the Sun went through my house but last week I had an energy lift. I suddenly began exercising and walking more. It was a nice break from feeling very inactive.

Re: Jupiter in 1st house - weight gain

It's been T my 1st house for a while and it's been a great transit. I've wanted to be self-employed for years and it looks like my dream is in the early stages of becoming a reality. Looking forward to Jupiter in Gemini/Cancer, hoping it will fatten up my bank account
