Poem submission
Okay, take a look at the chart below. It's for the submission of a poem to "Drunken Boat."
My analysis is that the outcome will be positive.
Pisces Rising puts Jupiter as my significator AND it's in the first house, depositing itself in Pisces, which assume makes it extra strong.
The two houses I'm looking at (based on a successful horary for the submission of a short story) are the 9th and 10th. 9th for publication, 10th for overall writing career.
Scorpio on the 9th makes Mars the main significator and Sagittarius on the 10th makes (again) Jupiter the secondary significator.
Mars is in Scorpio (8th house), depositing himself, and makes an approaching trine to Jupiter -- which is retrograde, so it's approaching Mars, too. That looks pretty good to me. My significator and the quested are in mutual approach, both strong in their own (secondary) signs.
Moon is my secondary significator, and she's in the 9th house of publication. Her next aspect is actually a sextile to Mercury (in the 7th, Libra, ruling the 4th and 7th), but the next aspect after that is a semi-sextile to Mars. Unfortunately, she will later make a square to Jupiter, (a sextile to Neptune), then a square to Uranus, which is conjunct Jupiter, as the final aspect.
One other possible issue is Saturn sitting in the 7th.
But otherwise, to me, the chart looks good. Agree? What else am I missing?

Re: Poem submission
No thoughts on this? Even if it's just "I'd read it the same as you," that's helpful for learning. The best way to learn it is to do it and be corrected where wrong. :-)
Btw, I should know in a few months, I think if the submission was accepted and can then report on the result.

Re: Poem submission
(Following is not in accordance with standard horary practice and uses whole sign house format)
Let's see if simple Lunar divination suggest favorable influences regarding the submission, or otherwise:
-ascendant is a crooked sign: + 1 point
-Moon flows away from Mars: + 1 poiint
-Moon flows toward North Node: + 2 points
-Moon's next house (11th) is succedent: 0 points
-Moon's next sign (Capricorn) is detriment: - 1 point
-Moon flows toward the Part of Fortune (8Taurus): + 1 point
Results:
Negative: - 1 point
Positive: + 5 points
Net: + 4 points
Divination: with a net of +4 points the indications are favorable regarding the submission or the ramifications of this submission.

Re: Poem submission
Cool methodology. Thanks. Is there a book or webpage that lists all these points for moon horary?

Re: Poem submission
Mars ruler of the 9th is essentially dignified and applying to your significator Jupiter in domicile. Mars receives Jupiter by triplicity term and face. I think it's a yes and agree with your interpretation. Keep us posted and good luck!

Thanks. I'm still learning all the little detail things to look for, so I sometimes misinterpret what I see. Getting feedback saying, "This is on, but look at ..." is really helpful. I didn't think to look at triplicities or faces.

Unfortunately the only book I am aware of that outlines this method is in Turkish, from the late 1800's (at least that's what was shown me once, while I was learning about this method)
However, I have given a pretty good outline of the technique in a couple of posts I made to the thread entitled "Will we become love couple", in the Horary-Relationships section, qv.

Re: Poem submission
Reporting back the outcome on this ...
Unfortunately, It was not an acceptance, so the positive outcome readings were incorrect.

Re: Poem submission
Sorry to hear that; however the time-frame for this horary is far from expired, and the + indications did include "ramifications": I would suggest further submissions of the poem (to others) over the near future, and, now that you are known to the publisher (who currently rejected the poem), perhaps these "ramifications" might have something to do with other submissions to them.

Re: Poem submission
Time-frame of the above horary (based on the Lunar divination: Moon flowing toward North Node, posited in Capricorn) : according to Al-Biruni's tables:
minimum time frame: 75 days (would be up through December 25, 2010)
maximum time frame: 27 weeks
So, relative to new submissions of the poem (especially to other publishers) the auspicious influences shown in the Lunar divination still have a while to be manifested. I would definitely advise new submissions during this period of time.

Re: Poem submission
Thanks again! I've been looking into other possible venues for submission. It's a little more complicated than a usual poetry submission in that it has a definitive native slant (e.g., American Indian) and finding magazines who WANT that slant can be tricky.
