A couple questions w/ Vertex on Algol in a solar return

I've tried to research this placement, but only seem to find it's effects in synastry charts, and very little information on how (or if) it affects on an individual's chart.

I read on cafeastrology.com that "...the Vertex and the Nodes of the Moon prominent when important contacts are made in regards to solar returns".

Well, I have Vertex sitting right on Algol in the 8th house in my solar return (which will begin on Nov. 2nd) and what I know of those three things are:

-Vertex: fated event and/or meeting

-Caput Algol: "Very unfortunate star, Primitive female sexualityviolence, mass catastrophe; the "Evil One", the Demon Star; passionate; intense; hysterical.

-8th house: Cycles of Deaths And Rebirth. Sexual relationships and deeply committed relationships, regeneration, joint ventures or funds...

So my guess is that I will have a quite intense fated encounter with someone sometime during my solar year. Would that be ballpark interpretation?

Soooo...my questions are:
1. Can Algol's influence be "activated" by a non-planetary influence, such as the vertex?

2. Being about 5 degrees or so away, can I conclude that Vertex is on the Gemini cusp and should interpret it's placement in Gemini (as opposed to Taurus)?

3. Is it possible to find the timing of this influence ( a ballpark figure as to when it will happen) in a solar return?
(i.e. could I use the same equation, with timing using the moon, as I do with, say for example, an horary chart?)

4. Would looking at any other aspects in my solar chart determine if this "fated encounter/event" will be negative or positive or it's effects (if any)?
( A "no, it doesn't matter", or "yes, it could help" answer would be great, I'm not looking for a full interp. of the aspects/effects )

Any insight would be truly appreciated!
I attached my solar chart for the purposes of providing a visual of this aspect, focusing on the Vertex/Algol questions.

Re: A couple questions w/ Vertex on Algol in a solar return

All solar returns are about ‘potential’ as is the natal chart, but we don’t always fulfil our potential, whether it’s due to ‘other people or unforeseen circumstances’ or a choice of two things and maybe possibly making different choices meant you didn’t fulfil that potential in this Solar return.

I don't read SR's as stand alone cos you can get far more information from bi wheel, it can give a natal planet an opening or expression by conjuncting SR Asc or MC for example and any SR planets conj natal planets are important to.

when selecting a solar return chart from astro in Extended chart selection it's important to select 2nd option 'with houses' as this will put the degree onto planets and Angles --

The house in which the Sun falls in the SR chart is the birthday month's forecast and influence, and each house after is the following month, since the Sun transits at the rate of one sign or house per month. Each house is treated as events in that month, and the sign and planet ruling the cusp influences the outlook for that month. The chart is used like a clock, with 12 months on its face instead of 12 hours. As the Sun conjoins or aspects other planets in the SR, it will generate events

Lastly, for something 'major' to happen, it should also be reflected in your transits, progressions and possibly solar arcs. So don't ignore these methods in favour of JUST solar returns

personally when asking such a personal question would not *just* look at SR. I would prefer to look at natal, progressed and transits in tri wheel.

I don't read SR as stand alones either, so a natal chart is needed here. (for me at least)

Vertex
"Those who use the Vertex generally feel it is a point of karmic or fated connection. Some consider it a point of "wish fulfillment". It is perhaps most widely used in synastry. The Vertex is said to be activated at major turning points in our lives, most notably when we meet a significant other or end a significant relationship, and some believe it is triggered when there is a birth or death"

Re: A couple questions w/ Vertex on Algol in a solar return

Hi, thank you for taking the time to reply and all the information

I think I've got interpreting my solar down, but I just had a general question in regards to the question in this post, how to calculate the timing of the solar return to understand when the vertex would become activated (if at all)...

Since my sun is on the 2nd house cusp, and the transiting sun roughly equals about a month/per house starting with your birth month - Should I consider the "start time/house" to be from the 2nd, it being on it's cusp? Or calculate it's timing from the house it is currently sitting in, the 1st?

Here are the charts you mentioned, if helpful in answering the questions I had

the cusp is 17' Asc therefore 17' 2nd house cusp and sun is first house and not conj 2nd. This is all about *your* self expressions.

There are two methods of 'timings' or theories concerning SR. If you followed the links I provided you will see that my own idea is one house per month. the other theory is 'quarters' and times of year.

It has been said that having SR Asc falling in 7th house suggests a difficult year ahead for relationships.
