We have quite the interesting little dance going on between The Sun, Venus and Mars this year.
On September 1st, Venus and Mars started the beginning of a long-running midpoint with the Sun. September 1st, at 5AM GMT, the midpoint of the Venus/Mars came within a 1 degree orb of the Sun. Normally, this would be a fairly quick event, and routinely uneventful... But in this case, the midpoint of these three fast-moving objects stays within a degree for over two months, and is a prelude to a partile triple-conjunction of these three objects at the opening degree of Scorpio!
Venus and Mars both slowly close in on the sun, as if both are slowly meandering towards the light in harmony, and form an exact midpoint to the Sun at midnight GMT on October 5th, with the Sun at 11 degrees Libra. At that time, the Moon conjuncts Uranus at 11 Pisces, with an orb of only a few arc mins. The extremely close conjunction forms an Inconjunct to the Sun, and thus also the Venus/Mars midpoint, again by only a few arc mins. Our emotional nature (Moon) is raised in frequency (Uranus) while the Sun is at the resonant midpoint of Venus/Mars (the cycle of intimate relations), casting light on how we interact with the opposite sex, as well as how be bring together our own personal masculine and feminine sides. It is also worth noting this is the day before Jupiter T-squares (by midpoint) the Saturn/Neptune opposition.
1 Month and 1 Day after the September 22 Solar Eclipse at 29Virgo, Sun/Mars conjunct at 29Libra, with Venus trailing behind by a degree.
The next day, October 24th, the trio meets up at the opening degree of Scorpio, the sign of sex and intimacy. The trio forms a tight semi-sextile to Juno, Asteroid Goddess of marriage and commitment, at the opening degree of Libra, sign of relationships and balance. That same day, the Moon joins a conjunction of Mercury and Jupiter, forming a triple conjunction binding our emotions, lower logical mind (Mercury), and higher philosophical mind (Jupiter), all three in trine to the Lunar North Node and square to Saturn. Discipled, serious (Saturn) logical and philosophical consideration (Mercury/Jupiter) for spiritual growth (Node) are indicated, as we delve into the illuminated (by the Sun) depths and usually forbidden realms (Scorpio) of the Venus/Mars cycle.
For those of you, like me, who take note of 16th harmonic aspects (22.5-degree series), you should note that the trio (Sun/Venus/Mars) is ~22.5 degrees from Jupiter (and Mercury/Moon, which conjunct it) and ~67.5 degrees from Saturn, integrating it into the final waxing Jupiter/Saturn square of the present Trigon. For those of you who have not explored the 22.5 degree aspects, this is a good example of how they can useful: they tend to show up in tandem with more important, major aspects and serve as secondary indicators of the deeper underlying currents behind a cyclic event. Much like the semisquare/trioctile, they tend to be much more accute (short lived and intense) indicators of a need to reconcile conflict and differences.
Moreover, the Moon/Mercury/Jupiter conjunction forms a semisextile to Pluto, while Pluto T-squares the Nodes and trines Saturn. Remember that the semisextile, like the inconjunct, is a mentally stimulating aspect, very well suited to the conjunction of Moon/Mercury/Jupiter, and likely adds strong plutonic overtones to the conjunction; probably just as strongly as the Sun/Venus/Mars conjunction occuring in Pluto's sign Scorpio.
On November 5th, the Venus/Mars midpoint finally moves a full degree away from the Sun, at which time the Moon forms its exact monthly opposition to Mars, showing us the end game is the balancing (opposition) of aggression and actions (Mars) with our caring and nurturing nature (Moon).
It could also be said that for the next 2 months, the venus/Mars cycle of intimate relationships is being "lit up", as the two planets dance in tandem with the Sun.
Whatever the case, I found the dance of Sun/Venus/Mars this fall to be an interesting subject to bring up, and thought all of us who follow planetary cycles along our path should be aware of this one. It would appear to me that this sort of dance is not the most common.
