Leos Arrogant?

Does anyone find Leo sun/rising arrogant and pretentious?

I used to think this of all Leo sun people and then I found out I am a Leo rising. I don't think I am arrogant, but sometimes I do feel frustrated with people's lack of "investments" in themselves, or their work.

Opinions?

i think the arrogance of leo is a function of their fixed and noble nature.they don't listen to critcism as they know they are inherently doing the right thing.and usually even if they misstep,this inherent nobility keeps them from causing harm in their wake.

of course a afflicted leo is very arrogant as selfishness will surplant the inherent nobility.there destruction will follow as the lower self tries to rule out of time.

As for Leo suns...yeah,I've noticed that when they describe something about themselves it sounds just like it's from a movie,well it has to catch the attention of the audience after all,but thanks to their ability to do that they're enjoyable.

As for arrogance?I have not met a Leo who is influenced heavily by Leo or other Fire signs.But they are kinda,thankfully the ones I've met were not too much...but hey,usually they do enjoy bragging and talking only about themselves.Except if they have Water in them that makes them also a listener.

No. I don't think that Leo suns/risings are arrogant. Most of the ones I know are very kind, giving, and down to earth. When I was in high school though, I dated a Leo guy. It seems like everyone hated him for his arrogance, but he didn't seem arrogant to me. I think that there are other signs that are more arrogant than Leo.

I think your post shows the limits of negative stereotypes in sun-sign astrology!

My moon is in Leo. As a woman with a night birth, some astrologers might find it stronger than my sun. I like the positive stereotypes about Leos being generous and fun-loving.

I have a Leo sun and there were always many people at school who considered me arrogant. But when I asked close friends and family members whether they thought of me as arrogant they all denied it. So I believe we may tend to appear arrogant to strangers even though we really aren't.


I do have a very arrogant Leo sun grandfather, though.

Oh, he's a good guy. Arrogance can get you pretty far if you know how to play it, actually.
Us Leos should make good friends since we're often the very definition of loyal.

In my life, I've encountered very few "lions and lionesses" but when I do, I never forget about them. I'm a Sun and Rising Sagittarius so I naturally get along with them (well, most of the time (Moon in Aquarius)). I never really have "bruised" a Leo's ego, especially at my most tactless and bluntest of moments.

I love Leos, they're fun, charismatic, playful, highly expressive (no so with those with a lot of Virgo), party-going and "larger than life" but I especially like the their passion (even though it can go overboard) and romanticism (especially if they have Venus in Cancer). My dream boyfriend / partner would be a Leo.

However, being true to my Sagittarian nature, I also tell it how it is. Leo and Leo-risings do get pretty arrogant and narcissistic. It drives me up the wall and it tempts me to pop their ego because it inflates like a balloon. I admire the fact that they're assertive, confident and directing but it can get extremely annoying. Another thing that bothers me is the fact they get pretty immature and childish, throwing their tantrums and being melodramatic. Leos think they're the **** (unless they have a more subdued Rising and planets, say Virgo) and that everyone should pay attention to them and them only.

As an old saying goes between a Leo and a Sagittarian, "Leo becomes annoyed by Sagittarius' expanding interests while Sagittarius tires of Leo's ever expanding ego".


(response to Niar_Rebmevon): Leo's do make pretty awesome friends but you guys put too much hoops and obstacles just to see if they're even worthy. I never really had to do that since I'm genuine but sometimes I wonder do you do the obstacles because of deep rooted insecurities and suspicion or do you do it for the entertainment lol XD

I think Leos (suns) get kind of a bad rap on this. Honestly, I feel like alot of people who write this kind of stuff don't really understand Leos at all.
I've found that most of the Leos I've known (including myself) are pretty down to earth, alot of us even have self esteem problems.
If we seem arrogant, it's a coping mechanism. Everyone seems to lean on Leo. We're brave, we're strong, right? Alot of the other sun signs seem to think Leos can handle everything- all by themselves.
So, how would you feel if you discovered that your "leader" doesn't have all the answers after all? Maybe the "arrogance" is how we try to hide the fact that we don't.
It's kind of funny, some of the people I've known who have this attitude to Leos are the ones who lean most heavily on us... go figure

Generally, no, but it is possible. Leos can be proud and confidant, and some might interpret that is arrogant and pretentious. Bad aspects with Venus or Jupiter and they can be a little vain, and maybe piously pretentious.

Well, I dated a Leo or two and have known a few as friends and I wouldn't necessary call them arrogant but yes, they can be sort of self-absorbed and always want to be the center of attention and be considered to be the best at anything (if they are not and they know it - for me, this has applied to Leos and sex - they think they have lovers to worship them at their feet!)

But that said, they can also be charming, generous, fun to be with and, if you are dating one, they will compliment you and treat you like royality - and they, of course, always want to show you off in public.

I have met quite a many Leo's that are arrogant. The reason why Leo's may seem arrogant and may be arrogant, is that their sign ruler is the SUN. Sun rules person's ego and when Sun is in Leo, ego is extremely strong. If there are challenging aspects or other wise something that could sign that person has even bigger ego, then problems may start to rise and Leo can actually become really arrogant and self-sentered. It's all about the them then, the center of the Universe, the Sun of everyones life.

Leo's can also mask their problems behind this ego. I have noticed that the worst the situation that the Leo has put herself/himself in, the more her/his ego grows - maybe to mask the things that s/he actually did wrong? I have noticed this many times. All the Leo's that I have met have really hard time being humble, even when there is nothing to be proud about. If Leo has a very bad self-esteem, they can be terribly egoistic and show it by judging other people and being very self-centered and too proud.

Of course there are other good qualities about Leo's, but this is one of Leo signs cardinal sins, as there are other as "bad" cardinal sins for every sign.

The three Leo Suns (Mother, Grandmother, and Aunty) i know really well are not arrogant, but Leo appears to me to always want to look their best or take pride in their appearance for example dressing up on occasions others don't, making or buying expensive dresses wanting to be centre of attention and love social occasions (even some funerals). I think this can be the Nobility showing through after all they need to impress the commoners.

But you have t-square involving your Mercury and Venus and Saturn and Pluto. Surely you are not the archetype of proud Leo then.

And I think it is always good thing to notice that no one's Sun sign makes them "Leo like" even if it was in Leo. There has to be more stuff on Leo or strong 5th house for the person to be archetypian Leo.

Leo's understand at a fundamental level that the most selfless thing you can do is to be totally selfish. If you learn to know and love yourself completely then you can learn to love others equally too. It's just that this gets all mixed up with different emotions and relationships so it gets a bit skewed sometimes :P

I think people sometimes say bad things about Leo because they wish they had the innate confidence associated with them.

I totally agree with you, i'm leo sun and moon in pisces, I've been suffering from women especially scorpios, the selfish for me is the scorpio sign they just can't feel the inferiority once someone else takes the attention, they get jealousy, I just don't do nothing at all, I really get the attention whenever I go, even dressed with simple clothes. I have a couple cases that happened to me, and I never (i really mean never) have been competing or something like, and a friend I used to help all the time she asked for, the truth she was wishing the badest things to me and worst than this example is my sister-in law, who talks on my back with lies (both are scorpios) and the scorpios with their ''kindness'' to others, they really can convence anyone.

Do I really think or believe I'm the best.. Noooo, not in any way, will I say something that suggest I think that.. To be honest yes probably... But more so in a playful joking manner. Not in a serious narcissistic way...

I think other aspects in a chart would cause true narcissistic thinking.. Only I dont know which one's.. But yes probably would be in Leo somehow..

I have only met a few Leos, and I don't think they are pretentious or arrogant. outwardly, possibly.
