Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
I'm uncertain of the history of numerology because I only studied it briefly; my explorations led me to the Astrology-Numerology website, and I quickly ditched numerology for astrology.
I have a 9 Lifepath, and the descriptions on this site and others fit me so well it's almost laughable. This is the only bit that doesn't fit:

Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
It says i'm an 11 or a 2 (that's weird the clock just said 5:55...0_0). A lot of what websites said was right, I have a lot of nervous energy and I'm into spiritual stuff. This is pathetic, but it sure made my self esteem go up! lol. But I don't know if numerology is real or not.

I'm a 9 and I've always felt that it fit me. I think that suits a Pisces rising. lol.

Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
I am a "numerology enthusiast", however, over the decades I have learned that the more simplified approach to it, while of some general value, is nothing as compared to the more advanced (and much less well known) and, I'm afraid, also much more complex methods available to us...I shall state that everything astrological is convertible into "meaningful numbers", and everything "numerological" is convertible into astrological elements...

Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
I am better versed in Numerology (Pythagorean) than astrology. I always found it fit me and those around me well and it helps me predict upcoming events by using personal year numbers.
I'm an 11, and it fits me too well. The nervous energy is a side effect of the high vibration associated with the number. I inspire (as a grief counselor and teacher) without even realizing it. I have also gorwn up faster than my peers due to the challenges that come with this life path (it is a Master Number after all... in order to gain the knowledge necessary to fulfill my purpose I had to suffer a bit more...thank Saturn oppose Sun for that one).
Astrologically... my Sun/Moon/Venus/Mercury are all in the 11th house... coincidence? I think not...
Not to mention 11:11 follows me everywhere...
I have many stories with the 11... I'm definitely a believer!

How interesting that a 4 life path is named Saturnian.... 4 is known as a Saturnian number in the numerology I study... hard work, many obstacles expecially during childhood, not an easy one...

Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
Well, the ancient Pythagorean's did more than attempt character analysis via numbers. However, the fact of the matter is that ancient alphabets equated with numbers: for example, every Greek letter also represented a number, every Sanskrit letter also represented a number, every Hebrew letter also represented a number; so, for the ancients, language, letter and number were all convertible into each other. Although different cultures utilized different calendars, all the ancient calnedars were fundamentally based upon the same (or at least, similar) soli-lunar/stellar observable phenomena. Finally, the ancients always considered multi-variant combinations of influences (whether astrological or numerological), and only later (under Aristotelean influences) did the concept of "one right way, one thing true" or, "one (correct) reading", develop in Western thought.
PS: I consider skepdic a prejudiced, ultra politically correct, lousy site where I would not waste 2 seconds of my time.

Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
By name, I am a 9, but I am definitely only half 9 and half 1.
Friends and family are torn between the two as am I. I am an odd, yet equal, mixture of the two.

Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
I'm a lifepath 6 and so is my youngest son. It fits me to a T. I'm a vegan, very compassionate, and want to help everyone. My youngest is very close to family, very loving, caring. My oldest son is a lifepath 7. He's very introverted, shy, and has an amazing mind both scientific and artistic talent.

If I remember correctly, the life path is derived from one's date of birth--not from one's name. The destiny number is derived from the letters in one's full birth name.
This may be what you meant when you suggested you were "only half 9 and half 1," but I wished to clarify this matter for other forum members.

Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
The life path and destiny number are synonymous, the number derived from one's name is the expression number.
Concerning expression numbers I'm not too sure how accurate they are... My problem with them relates to the above criticism... Because I am of Greek origin I have a Greek version of my name and an English version. The Greek alphabet and English alphabet are different as well, leading me to ask the question: In which language should I calculate my expression number? I gave up all together, and don't even bother with the letters in my name because I'm not too sure what to use.
Concerning the birthday numbers (life path, personal year, pinnacles and challenges, etc) I do believe in their accuracy because most of us use the same numbers to calculate things...numbers are a bit more cross-cultural than letters although there are cultures who use a different numbering system (for example the Hebrew calendar is way more advanced than the Christian calendar that most of us use).

Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
Regarding names, it is the name which you internalize, the name by which YOU think of yourself, or the name which expresses your essence, which is taken and converted into number having a meaningful energetic vibrational resonance.
Personally I follow conversion of astrological data into meaningful numbers as being a more reliable, and indeed, a more effective-for-practical-purposes method, than conversion of name to number.

Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
I'm a 5. Definitely reflective of my life, an abnormal amount of change.
I don't feel it tells the whole story though, in terms of personality. My other numbers are mostly 6s and 7. I feel I am definitely a combination of these 3 numbers.

Re: numerology: what is your lifepath number?
I don't get the fact that my destiny, soul's urge and inner dreams number are all nines. When I was younger, I wanted to be a singer- not a humanitarian lol. But now I have no idea what I want to be although I still cling to music somewhat.
But there's a great novel called I Can See Your Dream Job by Sue Frederick. She explains in great detail about all of the numbers- although she puts emphasis on the master numbers. It's a great read for those who don't know the purpose of their life and it's easy to understand.

Hi!
I know someone with three 9s in their main numbers (i think soul urge, destiny and life path or personality) who also wanted to be a singer. I see this more through their leo sun in astrology. However, the 9s definitely showed in their music style. the lyrics to their songs showed maturity, learning the lessons in life, humanitarian, older soul, teacher, idealist.
