Thoughts on Dignities

I've never been one to accept Dignities, and there are many other astrologers who have chucked the whole system also. Here is a thought as to how I see dignities, in relation to aspects, elements and qualities and movement through the signs dexter and sinister. I will take the Sun as an example.

Leo Conjunct Fire Fixed (Ruler)
Scorpio Square Water Fixed (Fall)
Sagittarius Triangle Fire Mutable (2nd Exaltation)
Pisces Inconjunct Water Mutable (Detriment)
Aries Triangle Fire Cardinal (Exaltation)
Cancer Semi-sextile Water Cardinal (2nd Fall)

Opposition nolonger takes presidence. One must take the element as the opposite, not the aspect Opposition as a foundation. Seeing that I find the Inconjunct a major aspect and feel that it's qualities better suit Detriment, I see no use for the Opposition. Fire and Air are not opposites.

I'm sure that many will not agree, but I wonder how many have studied Dignities to the extent that when broken down the clasification the flaws are more than apparent.
