What to make of this Saturn?

Saturn in 12 with three squares, Mars squaring Sun, Neptune all alone in the 5th house AND squaring Venus (pink glasses) .. I find all these to be conspiring against my quest to live a calm happy life, they're discouraging, bringing anxiety and depression, what can I do, how does one fight these?

Most of your planets are concentrated in the Eastern hemisphere, so I would think you have the inherent opportunity to be more of a self-directing individual than someone who is swayed around by outer circumstances. You must have a great, 'sunny' presence with that Leo Sun of yours in the 1st House. This wonderful Sun you have forms a lovely trine to Neptune in the 5th House, so that shows a noteable capacity for creative self-expression. You would probably work really well with kids - drama teaching or kindergarten teaching could be successful outlets for you. With that Saturn in Cancer in the 12th, nurturing the creativity of kids might allay some of the emotional isolation associated with that placement and allow you to re-connect with your 'inner child'.

In reference to the Saturn in Cancer in the 12th House - I'm assuming your father wasn't a very comforting or available influence for you in the past?

Your Sun squares Mars, but so does your Mercury, indicating you have a sharp and keen intellect. With your Sun and Mercury in Leo (fire) square Mars in Taurus (earth) and your Venus in Virgo 'at home' in the 2nd House, you should channel your energies into a creative outlet. One of my friends, like you, has a Leo Sun and Mercury square Mars in Taurus and she's training to be a beautician at the moment. She loves experimenting with make-up and she enjoys putting together different looks and uploading make-up video tutorials on YouTube. She's very good at it.

With your Libra Moon, you naturally seek peace, harmony, and balance. However, this is modified by its conjunction with Pluto. It must be difficult to reconcile intense emotions with pleasant Libra. I think a Moon-Pluto conjunction is a little easier to handle if it occurs in water or earth signs because their energies are more congruent with those indicated by the Moon and Pluto.

Generally, I think you have a great natal chart that's full of much promise and potential. Okay, there are some 'challenging' aspects and placements, but a chart would be boring and inactive without those. As for your 5th House Neptune square Venus in the 2nd. Well, I have Neptune in the 7th House square Venus in the 11th and it hasn't proven to be problematic for me. You aren't 'fated' to live out every possibly 'negative' indication in your chart, plus astrology is very cyclical in nature and you have *free will*.

You seem like a strong, aware, intelligent person. I think you will really blossom further as you develop your strengths and interests more, and only associate with people who value and celebrate you as you are. With your Leo Sun on your Leo Ascendant, some people may feel threatened by you and, thus, behave in a jealous manner. You shine, and some people see that as a threat. I hope your mother supports who you are.

Regarding Saturn and the squares it makes. If this makes you feel any better, my chart is dominated by Saturn's 'cloud'; my Sun and Mercury (chart ruler) square Saturn, and my Moon is conjunct Saturn as well. It's an influence I tend to feel more inwardly (self-consciousness sometimes, inhibited emotional expression, serious view of life), but I try not to let it get me down. Once you're aware of something, that's a useful first step in dealing with it capably. At the same time, Saturn's influence isn't as terrible as it's been portrayed to be. It has endowed me with a strong measure of caution and discipline in my life, which, IMO, have helped me to persevere in projects and tasks, etc. I have often been entrusted with productive responsibilities by my 'superiors' throughout my life so far, which benefitted me in the long-term. Saturn has its good and bad sides - just like all the other planets. I think Saturn's lessons are conducive to being managed well in everyday living on earth - far more so than lessons imparted by more 'otherwordly' planets like Neptune and Pluto.

You have Jupiter in Aries in the 10th House, which trines your 1st House Sun and 2nd House Mercury. I would LOVE to have Jupiter in the 10th House!! It's a strong sign of career progression and 'luck'. It's even better that it aspects your Sun and Mercury in Leo harmoniously. Whatever 'rough patch' or depression you're going through at the moment is just that - momentary. It will pass. It's near-impossible to see a 1st House Sun Leo with a Leo Ascendant trine Jupiter in Aries in the 10th depressed for long! ;-) I just think you need an appropriate and fulfilling outlet for all that fiery energy of yours. You deserve better and you should explore your talents further.

Re: What to make of this Saturn?

Saturn is in it's detriment in Cancer and hidden in 12th suggests a father who was ineffectual or lacking in some manner. Although Apex for T Square what tends to happen with these is that a progression, solar arc or transit comes along and makes the whole thing a temporary grand square, which then causes allsorts of internal tension things to make you move and resolve some issues.

Now ontop of all this your Saturn is a singleton ie; only planet in water which your chart lacks this element.
Singleton planets
“If a planet happens to be the only one in an element, quality, or house type, that planet is a Singleton and it can funnel all of the “energy” of the horoscope. This planet is often the most important one in the horoscope. In other words, if you just interpret the position of this one planet by sign, house, and aspect, you will get to the “heart of the horoscope”. The effect is the same as if that planet were the only one on one side of the chart.”

(There is a book out by Shirley Lyons Meier, "Elemental Voids, More than Meets the Eye", which gives a good discussion of missing elements.) The Inferior Function can be a source of great motivation and creative expression.

What I do see currently is T Neptune opp your mercury
"This is a time when you are likely to have considerable difficulty in communications with others. Misunderstandings now are likely to lead to unpleasant or embarassing situations. Avoid contract negotiations if at all possible. This is one of the classic transits for being deceived, swindled or lied to, so be sure you have your facts straight and that others are being truthful to you. For obvious reasons, this is a dangerous time for business dealings."

Re: What to make of this Saturn?

May I suggest as a starting point you explore transiting Chiron and Neptune.

Hush thank you for taking the time to type so many insights, you seem so advanced in this, I've started reading lots and lots of stuff (astrologer50 I found your links yesterday but I had considered Neptune as singleton for a little while).
Jerry Im not that advanced as to read transits but I'll surely start.

In view of your comments here's a little help re:transits -

Transits
I use--- 1' approaching, 1' exact and 1' departing. If you click on the link listed below for the online ephemeris it will list all planets at any given time. Learning astrology is like learning a new ‘language’ and obviously the more effort you put into something the more your knowledge and understanding will increase. All transits act as ‘background’ influences through a house, until it makes a mathematical aspect to a planet inside or an Angle.

For 'timings' I would look to the retrograde hit as the most important trigger, then look to see what the quicker planets are doing especially mars & mercury --

astro.com has fee six month transit forecast plus when you get into Extended chart selection, look at the three tabs after calculating a chart under ‘method’ default is circular wheels (on left), middle is special charts and in their you get graphic ephemeris 1yr (or 5years) with natal = transits for 1yr and lots more. BUT you first must learn or memorise the 'glyphs' ie: shorthand for recognising what these maps/graphics mean.

For example when you post or reply to a chart the 'smilies' to the right and just under them [more] if you click on there it will bring up a whole loads of 'glyphs' Mercury Uranus conjunction (+or - 8') trine aspect 120' Libra

http://www.dkfoundation.co.uk/dkfoundation/BookTransitsAndProgressions.htm

Now it's more important to focus on transits from Jupiter to Pluto (poss mars as this is the ignition key)and these planets when aspecting something in your natal chart 'set off' the difficult or nice 'aspects - potential - problems' that your chart expresses. By that I mean if a benefic planet like Jupiter hits/touches/transits your venus, mars or uranus these could be experienced very pleasantly. BUT if your natal venus is afflicted, or badly aspected say conj saturn then jupiter will not has such a good effect. It all depends on how the natal planet is 'aspected'

For me I would say external 'events' must be seen by transits, progressions or Solar arcs to Angles ie: Asc/Desc & MC/IC most other times these events are 'internal, psychological matters as in between the ears'

This last website link is rather nice because it gives interpretations of what the ‘Lord’ of the house cusp ruler means ie: T Jupiter sextiles natal sun, so wherever Leo rules in your chart is connected to the area this transit will be affecting –

Re: What to make of this Saturn?

Hello Diana....

Every one has hard and challenging aspects in their charts...

I have Neptune in first opposite Jupiter in its detriment in 7th....
Which i consider it a very very challenging one which effected (And still) has its effect in my life.

To the extent that I made them make a contract between each other so they can help me instead of working against me...
And I was a witness on this contract

But as the other member said there is always a solutions....
This solutions usually develope by time as the person learn and gain experience....

Your presence/post here is an indication that you began dealing with your challenges in a positive way.

You seek piece of mind..... Ummm... Something most people seek.

Your Mars in conjunct the fixed star Al-Gol. (Read about that)
its ruller venus in fall and also Rx so it is weak in its position.

This is one problem in your chart related to your question.... (Piece of mind)

Use the quality of your double degnified sun trine neptune and try make a contract between your moon/neptune conjunction with mars through the trine Like I did with my planets.

Good luck.

Re: What to make of this Saturn?

T-2000 thank you kindly, I wish your contract goes smooth every day
never heard of Algol, I was still figuring out how to read the progressions posted by astrologer50 .. (thats gonna take a while, I hope I don't get decapitated in the meantime .. Algol and Uranus in 4th, at least it should be quick

I know that these stars should take a lifetime to study, but if anyone else sees something odd\helpful\interesting in this chart pls drop in a word, I'll do the reading. Most indebted to this place that brings so much self awareness
