Medical Astrology Astrological diagnoses and other health issues are discussed here. Given that there are so many outer and inner influences on one's health (alimentation, sports, medication, past medical antecedents, state of mind, etc.), an astrological diagnosis is only one of many things to consider when determining your healthiness.

full moon surgery

help please!

my mom is supposed to have surgery in 2 hours, that is just prior to exact full moon happening in Scorpio.
Is this really bad as it is written everywhere? could there be good outcome anyway?
do I need to post some chart or look at her chart in combination with the event chart.

here is surgery chart, I really don't like Mars in first but maybe that just suggesting surgery happening on her body, and surgeon being represented by retrograde Saturn in cadent house. Sun is strong but full Moon in Scorpio really scares me, and it is also in Via Combusta, which I never really understood all that well.
please give me your thoughts

Re: full moon surgery

Mars in the first IS the surgery, that is what you are seeing. Is it planned? Or emergency? Did you not know about it until now?

Re: full moon surgery

Actually isn't reading the chart during via combusta a no-no?

Re: full moon surgery

As its an event chart really, I think we can read it with the via combusta situation.
But Hermetic, we need to know what part of her body is being operated on so we check the strength of that significator.
Good luck to your mum
Lilly.

Re: full moon surgery

Okay-thanks Hermetic,
For hip replacements we look at Jupiter-which goes retrograde July 23rd..Let's hope it can happen while Jupiter is exalted in Pisces.
Saturn rules anaemia so it's understandable why that's happening now, with Saturn retrograde.
Today wasn't a great day for surgery.Let's hope her circumstances come together for the *best possible time*.
Actually the chart does show that the sun and Saturn, patient and surgeon, don't make any aspect today.Moon in via combusta always seems to create problems.
Try not to worry.
Cheers
Lilly

Okay it is hip replacement surgery.....if you have any input into the surgery date then look at positive aspects to the 12th for hospitalisation, the 6th for general health and the 7th for consulting doctor and the 10th for specialist.
IT is not so simple as you can see.

I would definitely avoid any challenging transiting Moon to SUn aspects.

If you can post a natal chart with the progressions and transits we can get some idea.

Re: full moon surgery

here is the new chart for the surgery, tomorrow morning.

looks OK with the Jupiter on MC and Moon out of Scorpio.

but here is some info about this I found, and some of signs to avoid are right here. I am posting only that I see fit. you can read the rest on this link http://www.tonyasomers.com/mooncycles.htm
Quote:
How to choose a correct surgery date

2. Avoid operations 5 days before or after a full moon. Bodily fluids are at their highest and can cause excessive swelling, hemorrhaging or seepage from wounds.

4. Avoid an operation on that part of the body ruled by the sign in which the moon or sun is transiting. - Moon transiting Sag ruled by Jupiter, which is ruling the hip

5. Avoid surgery when the moon is in a MUTABLE sign, Virgo, Gemini, Pisces or Sagittarius.

6. Try to plan an operation when the transiting moon is in a FIXED sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio Aquarius), the surgeon's hands should be steady, and no further complications should arise.

7. Avoid surgery when the transiting moon is within 17 degrees of the natal sun, moon, or mars. - my mom has Moon on 10 degrees Sag

10. Avoid surgery when Mercury or Mars is retrograde. Mercury Retrogradecan mean misunderstandings, mistakes, and confusion.

Claire, will post natal and transits in another post, I am kind of in a hurry now. The breakage happened when transiting Uranus made exact opposition to natal Mars, and currently Mars is transiting over natal Saturn - I feel the Saturn has something to do here because it is after all bone breaking.
