Pluto Transits

Hello All and good day!

I don't expect anyone to read or respond to this, but I am simply reflecting upon and analyzing my astrological future... any further insight would be appreciated.

I am curious about a few up-coming Pluto transits that I will be having. I understand that my Ne ptune-Pluto conjunction is also generational, but I am curious about a few matters. Hopefully someone will be willing to help!

I have posted my chart, including progressions and transits.

Here is my own interpretation of the up-coming events in my chart.

Firstly, I would imagine that the placement of my Natal Pluto adds a certain degree of significance to my upcoming planetary alignments. I would imagine all roads lead back to Pluto, and therefore my MC, my career, and my social image. A lot of the aspects will be felt in the tenth house, either directly or indirectly. The dominance of Capricorn in my chart already would only serve to strengthen this interaction.

Pluto is conjuncting my Natal Neptune. Neptune is also angular, conjunct my ASC, so this is why I am thinking it will be more significant than simply a generational re-evaluation of dreams, visions, and hopes for the future. I will be confronted with a direct challenge to a) my self image; b) my image and dreams of the my future; c) what role I will play in the reproduction of a global future. I may or may not assume a Plutonian Power role, but a sense of responsibility, and in my opinion, a thrilling chance to play a role in the real world, may become part of my self-vision, and my vision of the world I live in. Pluto will force me to re-evaluate my dreams and hopes, probably drop many dreams I once held, but also, given this time in my life (I'm 23), prepare me for adulthood, and to abandon childhood nostalgia and imagination that was holding me back. Or, even better, since I am already strong in Capricorn energy, I might finally be able to appreciate the years I spent dreaming, and actually build something from this foundation in the real world. I have definitely noticed my practicality suddenly lining up with my dreams. I am following through on what I need to do to make my dreams a reality. (Little things of course, but they matter!)

Pluto then will transit over my ASC. I can certainly already feel this one. Old fears about self-worth have surfaced, but I'm suddenly finding myself with more strength, resolve, and self-direction. I also have way more faith in myself (probably some Neptune in there). I am willing to take the risks that before, I would take, but would then be very hurt by other's reactions, and take their word as truth. Now I understand that my behavior, and my assertiveness and self-confidence, while perhaps an issue for others, is a part of me. I do not answer to the "social authority," I am answering to an inner call to render things the way I think they should be, based on ethics and principles that I believe to be true. I using my hard-earned Cap knowledge and respect for structure, time, and resilience, to respond to my vision, and not to what others think I should be. I am respecting my own nature and using it to do good, knowing that while I may not make people happy in the short-term, my compassion, good-will, and sense of discipline, ultimately are serving a more global long-term affair.

I will probably be learning more about this for a long time to come. I am excited because simultaneously Pluto will be sextiling my Natal Pluto and my MC, therefore presenting me with an opportunity to use these new skills and self-awareness in my social image and career, if I pay attention.

Then, in a bit of time, Pluto will transit my Mars (who will finally be turning direct in the coming year!). Pluto and Mars are in a quintile to one another, so I am excited for this means. This is where I get lost though. Does this mean I will finally have the right amount of energy, will-power, direction, confidence, and creativity, to manifest whatever my strong natal Pluto and Mars suggest? They are both angular, so I'm thinking I may either face an opportunity to make a significant career-related decision, or something will happen in my already chosen-career that will finally allow me to utilize these reserves of power and energy in a way I never thought possible.

Then Pluto will go over my Moon, and oppose my Sun. It will oppose my Sun for awhile. I'm excited and yet not. Since I've lived everyday with Sun square Pluto, and everyday with a Sun opposition, and a Moon conjunction to Mars, I already know a little bit about intensity within these two celestial bodies. I would imagine I would be dealing with a confrontation, probably from my past, either in the form a person, people, or old feelings. I might even be having my Ten-Year High School Reunion around this time!

well... just some meandering thoughts...

Re: Pluto Transits

Well done for having such an explanation, it will help others learn who are going through a similar experience.

Be aware in approx 7months time prog moon will conj Saturn, now this could bit a little depressive, keep you short of finances and want to withdraw socially. 1' approaching, 1' exact 1' departing to lasts about 3months then.

I wouldn't class your neptune as Angular, as it is in 12th but within 5' orb of Asc. My not even feel this transit at all, if you do I expect it to be rather mild in influences.

Think the pluto sextile MC could well offer up some opportunities regarding work, if that' what you are asking about?

"This is a positive time for your career. There will definitely be changes: you may change jobs, receive additional training or education that will help you reach your goals, or develop a fresh, new approach to your work. You are likely to receive some benefits, raises, promotions, or increased stature and recognition in your work.
+Your career is aided via a burst of intense concentration. You focus right through what is unessential and settle on the heart of the matter. Vocational decisions are furthered."

Also remember astro.com has free six month transit forecast. There is a 'plethora' of information on AW, espec in the 'stickys' at the top of every forum, our Education forum and Recommendations forum to. Plus we have a good search feature, bit like google using keywords --

Re: Pluto Transits

Hi A50.

Thanks for the wonderful, informative response.

From what I know, and have been told, I have an orb of 4 degrees between my ASC and Neptune, and that this is still a fine and appropriate distance to consider Neptune angular. I have also noted that in my appearance (watery eyes, small hands and feet), out-look, and interactions with others, Neptune appears to play a significant role. Moreover, I have had a few "classic" run-ins with strong Neptunian influence, namely that there were drugs involved in my birthing (my mother was given Pitocin).

I suppose the largest indicator was that I did feel this conjunction, and am still feeling it.

Thank-you for providing the brief description by cafeastrology. With so much Capricorn I am always concerned with my career outlooks.

Not sure if the Saturn influence is going to be too much of an issue- pretty used to limits socially and financially. I'm already saving up though, so thanks for the reminder!

Re: Pluto Transits

Yes it's 3' within orb of Asc, I apologise for not looking closer. Did anything happen age 3? like mysterious illness, hard to diagnose or did anyone pass away? just looking at solar arcs to Asc from neptune

I think the pluto conj Neptune may not be felt strongly, but definately the T Pluto conj Asc will

Re: Pluto Transits

That's ok!

I was looking and thinking maybe you knew something about retrogrades that I did not, since Neptune is retrograde and changes the orb or something.

At age 3, I experienced something incredibly traumatic and awful that I kept secret for a number of years.

I'm curious how you saw that?

And yes, I'm looking forward to Pluto transiting over the ASC. WOOHOO!

Re: Pluto Transits

simple and simplistic solar arcs. Actually if I was looking for traumatic i would have said 2.5years old SA MC onto Pluto, how sure are you of 'time'?

Age 7 exactly SA Asc conj mars, did you become sporty, competative? get into any fights? did family relocate?

Solar arcs are really simple, especially for beginners, just move the Angles, Asc, Desc, MC, IC 1' for each year of your life onto planets and vice versa. Not just used for rectification either. Under age 12 though these interpretations are directed towards family changes, maybe relocation, job changes, illnesses, additions to family etc. Another example is my Pluto is 28' Leo in 7th house and my Uranus is 3' Leo in same house to subtract these and you get age 25. That year my then husband and I had an almighty explosion (Uranus) and transformation (Pluto) of that marriage that started the demise and ultimate ending thereof....

Re: Pluto Transits

My Juno is in Capricorn (my only Cap) 6 degrees in my 11th whole house or 10th Placidius. So Pluto will be conjunct it while Saturn is squaring it.

Other than that I don't have to worry til Pluto goes in opposition to my natal Venus in Cancer 17 degrees so I have awhile.

Re: Pluto Transits

Hi A50,

Thanks for posting the links to learning and doing solar arcs. I still find it a bit daunting but definitely worth investigating. I'm very excited. Thank-you so much for you simple explanation, and sharing your personal experience.

As for the traumatic experience, my memory on the exact time is a bit fuzzy, and the only two people present to the situation were either too young to remember at the time (my sister was one), or too old now (my grandfather is 95 and "senile"). I used to say, "it happened when I was either 2 or 3," so 2.5 seems accurate. I always felt like 3 was too old, and 2 was too young.

No one passed away at age 3, but I was pretty sick from that age on, with the route of the illness (perpetual ear infections), always elusive. My parent's thought is was a milk allergy but never acted on it.

At age 7 I experienced the same traumatic experience that I had when I was younger. I also started softball, soccer, and gymnastics, and became very bossy.

Amy- do you think asteroids are worth considering during transits?

I don't really know so I consider myself in wait and see mode. I read once that Brittney Spear's antics of her first short lived marriage were due to a Juno transit. I figure this will be the test. lol. I haven't paid that much attention to asteroids but folks are trying really hard to convince me....and I have an open mind to at least pay attention and see what happens. Lemme see if I can find that article.

http://www.neptunecafe.com/Juno.html

It doesn't mention Pluto tho. So I checked Juno transits from when I married my x husband. That was a marriage that lasted 24 years.

Date moved in with x-husband to start living together: 3/31/1979. Juno was in 6 degrees Aries square my Juno...shoulda seen that. lol.
Date married: 8/21/1980. Juno was in Virgo 13 degrees conjunct my natal Jupiter in Virgo 10 degrees, which I was told was the significator of my 2nd marriage. (And transiting Jupiter in Virgo was conjunct transiting Juno in Virgo)
Date Divorced: 12/16/2004 Juno was in Aquarius 5 degrees closest to my natal chiron. Pluto was straight up on my midheaven at the time of my divorce. I considered my divorce a path to healing. lol.

My natal Juno is Cap 6 and my natal Venus Cancer 17.

Re: Pluto Transits

Hi Mod,

I recently had Pluto going back and forth over my Sag Asc and squaring my Sun. When it all started, I was on "astrology break", so it took me completely off guard and actually brought astrology back into my life.

The whole experience was like a hurricane in my own little bay. It was a chain of intensely emotional experiences (stressful, of course), that forced me to see my own strength. When they say this transit gives you an x-ray vision, there is truth to it. All of a sudden, I began discovering things in people that I'd be happier not knowing about. At times it seemed everyone around had gone mad. It was very painful to see. The emotions I got a taste of were so overwhelming, it was almost scary. I thought, had I money to spare, I'd see a specialist. But at the same time I knew I would survive.

People say I changed, and some don't like it. I do. I am glad I had these experiences. It was a very tough time, but it was great to live through it.

Re: Pluto Transits

Dear iwonder and Amy,

Thanks for sharing your stories. It is so wonderful (not to mention helpful and practical) to hear about astrology in action. Again, thanks for sharing.

I'll respond to iwonder first.

Based on your story, I'm pretty excited for my own transit. Maybe anxious might also be another way to describe it. I've always had issues with power and personl strength, not handing my power over to others, or s*cking it up in situations that were bothering me. I feel challenged frequently by this, as I have my Sun natally squaring Pluto and my MC. Pluto is conjunct my MC, and Sun is in the 7th, so you can bet it happens in my relationships pretty frequently. I grew up with both my parents having Saturn plopped almost exactly on top of my MC, so its almost like I've been trained to poorly handle power struggles and confrontations.

I am SO excited for WHATEVER this Pluto transit will bring. Life has been an uphill battle most of my life, so I'm hoping the change will be for the better, ultimately, if not providing some source of immediate relief. Things have climaxed in this department so many times, and I've felt at rock bottom from it so many times, that I am simply asking that things go up and stay up.

Mars will move from stationary retrograde to direct around my coming birthday. I think this will only further enhance my Pluto transit. Pluto will then be going over my natal Mars and Moon all sort of culminating within 5 years of my Saturn Return. I think this will also illuminate my tense nodal path. I am hoping. So far Pluto over Neptune has only strengthened my resolve in being practical with my wishes, and to not go too far with them, or get too caught up in the image, rather than the reality.

Whatever happens, I'm glad you liked it in the end.

Ok, and now for Amy.

I certainly have found value in using asteroids natally (particularly Eros, who popped up for an intense infatuation I had with someone who's Venus precisely conjuncted my Eros... hadn't given much thought prior to that). It seems you have a good case for the Juno in transit issue.

While I don't have Juno in Capricorn, my Juno is precisely conjunct my Saturn in Sag, so I feel that energy some. I really love protective Saturn energy (mine is retrograde natally, so I almost crave strong Saturn types, especially with all of my own Capricorn planets).

What is interesting about your story is it seems to indicate larger orbs for Juno than I had previously thought. It also seems that Juno has a played a very significant role for you. Since I have never been married, I cannot say. Based on your story though, I'm definitely going to give more credibility to asteroids in transit.

What is interesting is the similarity we have with the asteroids that have functioned strongly in your life. You mentioned that Juno for you was your only Cap planet. Eros for me was my only Aquarius planet. Perhaps sign placement suggests possible strength and/or presence? I know that my eyes bugged when I plugged in the asteroid named "Theodora," which is my given name, and it landed within minutes of my ASC!

There is an asteroid with my last name....my maiden name that I went back to, and it is in Pisces 7 degrees retrograde in my 12th house Placidius or 1st whole house. Asteroid Amy is in Aquarius 14 degrees retrograde so in my 12th house whether Placidius or whole house.

My natal Eros is 18 degrees Capricorn retrograde in opposition to my natal Venus in Cancer 18 degrees.

Of note in my last boyfriends chart.....he lives in Australia and came to the states specifically to meet me....with my guessing his rising as Sag...that puts asteroid Amy in his 9th house conjuct his natal sun and his natal Eros which is also conjunct my Jupiter....so maybe I've pegged his rising right and it shows in his chart that he was destined to come meet me. However in the past several months he has ceased all communication with me so something went horribly wrong there when for nearly 3 years it was quite literally a fairytale romance.

Now with your Juno conjunct your Saturn I would say that when ever you do marry.....that you plan to last forever.
And of course folks might think that's how all of us start out thinking in our marriages....but I have my doubts these days. lol.

Re: Pluto Transits

Hmmm well this has sparked a new interest. I pulled up my chart and added Juno in and low and behold Juno is conjunct my North node in the 7th house. They are both at 10 degrees libra. I know that this is an important point and I can often time relationship things to transit to not only the north node but the vertex which is close at 2 degrees Libra and the DC is at 5'39 Libra...it is a real dynamic area.
But Pluto...I am experiencing Pluto on the MC and squaring AC and opposing Mercury. I can tell you that I have surprised myself with things I have blurted out and am wrestling with myself in power struggles with a co-worker as well as my supervisor. I am working on letting it go and am freaked out wondering what they hey is coming over me! It is terrifying..so I have to keep processing information and looking inward and not letting Pluto impulse turn to outward.

Re: Pluto Transits

My Pluto is also in the 10th and has passed over my ascendant. It turned out to be a good thing Pluto always does what's best for us. He never seeks change just for the heck of it. It's usually something we really need. Being aware and open to whatever it brings is good which you seem to be.

When Pluto was in Partile conjunction to my Neptune Mars conjunction my son was born He transformed my life.

He is on my sun right now and about to back his butt right back over it. I've been feeling it for several months and it's been really exciting. At first I wasn't that receptive to the changes I was feeling, but I kind of just thought hmm let's just see where this takes me. I did what felt naturally intuitively right and after that it was amazing. It made me realize what I should be doing with my career and financially (my sun is in my 2nd house). I have to say it's been pretty awesome and enlightening.

Pluto isn't always about death, but a kind of symbolic rebirth. I'm sure at times it could be literal, but it's not something I would worry about. The more you dread the changes the more it will hurt. Just do your thing and it'll take care of the rest. At least that's how I've felt it's effects positively Good luck.

Now Saturn makes me dread his transits. Ouch

Re: Pluto Transits

This is what I got from I village today about the Pluto Transits.

Regroup!
Make healthy choices!

Important (and intense!) themes re-enter your life this week, beginning with Pluto’s retrograde turnaround on April 6. Saturn (also in retrograde motion) then re-enters health-conscious Virgo on April 7. When feisty Mars forms a quincunx aspect to powerful Pluto on April 10, life requires you to make a course correction.

So I'm in wait and see mode.

Re: Pluto Transits

Amy-

thanks for sharing that, very cool. interesting too.

kbell-

thanks for mentioning Saturn (can you really thank anything involving that planet!?) as I just realized, along with what Amy wrote, what the heck is going on, as Saturn is going to retrograde back over my 8th house, just as Pluto retrogrades back over my Neptune which is just behind my ASC, conjunct in the 12th house. And with my solar return, its sort of like I'm going to experience a strong feeling of these two in a stand-off... but that could also be the Saturn-Uranus opposition.

not sure but thanks both of you... I've got Chiron in Gemini and well, it feels good to "talk" things out...

Re: Pluto Transits

You're welcome ModCleopatra~

I know so many of us are worrying about the transits of late. Pluto retrograde will always have us wondering. lol.

I have my natal Mercury in Virgo 29 in my 7th house and that's RIGHT where the Saturn/Uranus opposition will land. Lucky me~ lol. Last time that meant a major increased work load. But this time Uranus will also be right there. I guess the blessing is transiting Jupiter hovering around my rising right now but that's increasing my sweet tooth. lol. I am eating Oatmeal to go oatmeal raisin trying to trick my brain into thinking I got a treat. ahahaha~ The good news is that after touching upon my rising Jupiter will next conjunct my Mars so I'm hoping that spurs me on to a better exercise program.

At the same time the transiting south node is hovering around my
natal Venus. My daughters told me that when I left Texas a couple of weeks ago that their Dad wondered why I didn't come see him. lol. Well did he not forget that I was there last year too and chose not to visit him? lol. We can get along....but why ruin a good visit when I have so many others I'd rather see. lol.

Re: Pluto Transits

I actually feel a bit of apprehension about tomorrow. I think I'm second guessing everything Pluto has revealed for me. I don't know why, but part of me really longs for an "ordinary" life lol. I wonder what my life would be like if I woke up tomorrow and I had taken an entirely different path to my life. This is very weird and unlike me to second guess anything.

Re: Pluto Transits

Amy-

great stories in there, i really laughed out loud after i read the last paragraph, twice. i was also really informed by your analysis of what's going on with the planets right now in your own chart, and helped me understand a little bit of what is going on for me and my solar return, which i think i'm really starting to feel. so thanks for that.

kbell-

strange i know, it is like pluto with these retrogrades really forces us to examine and re-examine what capricorn has built. nothing feels steady or secure, and the retrogrades, especially with neptune right there for me in my chart, makes me feel disillusioned, or worried that i "can't see the next step in the building process." i'm bowled over by how much this planet is really going to impact so many people. with capricorn being one of the "visible" earth signs, i'm sure we are really going to *see* change. 4 major earthquakes...

Re: Pluto Transits

ModCleopatra......life can be a joke sometimes, eh? lol~

Kbell...maybe you'll be one of those that acheives a "course correction."
But as we consider how Pluto works....he tears completely down and rebuilds better than before! The process scares us but the end result can be a good thing.

Re: Pluto Transits

Hi Modcleopatra! Well, first of all, you have a fascinating chart. This thread caught my eye, cause I am also going through some Pluto transformations, cause Pluto is conjunct my MC and Neptune on it and making a trine to my ASC. My dreams have literally started to unfold before my eyes; in the very first Pluto conjunction to my MC, I realized that psychology is the right career for me (Neptune on my MC, I have been really sailing with my career choice for years), I started to pursue it and it all has been great. I got accepted into a very respected institution to study psychology, and of course, this place is in another country (Pluto opposing my IC) and I have to leave everything behind this autumn and go get my dream. My relationship with my father has gone better (we were really distant at one point, and now I cannot believe my life without him!).

I have also found my underlying strenght that I have and I have been able to let go of my alcoholic mother. I believe in myself much more.

But that's about me. But the thing that I think is very transforming to you, is your relationships. Having your Sun in 7th house, relationships must be the driving force in your life and relationships mean a lot to you. Well, you must be prepared, cause it is very likely that the relationships you thought were amazing, can really unfold before your eyes and you could start seeing something that you never thought was possible. In good and in the bad. You have to prepare that maybe the relationships that you really counted on could just fall apart. But remember - what ever Pluto does to our lives, it is for the better. It is time to move on.

Probably also the way you view relationships in general will really get transformed. You could also attract obsessive, controlling people in your life this time - especially if you are not trying to change by yourself, people will come into your life and turn it around for you. You have Neptune conjunct ASC and it could be that you have all your life had a very transmutative and reflective aura about you, but at this time in your life people in your life might be surprised to see that you are not the overly sympathetic neptunian cloud anymore, but a strong, fierce woman! This might put some people off, but you shouldn't care about it. People you meet this time will probably never believe you when you tell about how you were with people before the Pluto transit.

Pluto conjuncting ASC usually transforms how we look literally. You could get a new sense of style, cut your hair or reform your wardrobe completely!

Cause your Neptune is making inconjunct to your Mercury in 7th (retrograde), there might be some confrontations about your previous words. You should try to be as straight and honest at this time as you can. You should try to understand this aspect better and look for some information - inconjuncts can be very hard to deal with and this aspect will come into highlight now and if you do not understand it's full meaning, it will be shown to you and maybe in a painful way. You could help yourself by trying to understand the core of this aspect. You have probably already felt something with this aspect, cause Pluto has been tight conjunct to Neptune for a while.

Your Neptune is making a trine to your Venus in Virgo and it is very possible that during this Pluto transit you will find out new friends that will stick around for the time of the Pluto transit (so almost 15 years, whoah!). You could meet some amazing people at this time, cause you have transiting Uranus conjunct your Jupiter which is making a trine to your Sun and Mercury. So even though Pluto could drop some people out of your life, you will probably get few new friends too.

When Pluto conjunct your Mars you will experience rebirth in your use of energy. All the rage that you may have inside you will come to the surface and you have to deal with it and if this stuff has anything to do with your mother (Mars conjunct Moon), there will be some serious confrontations about it - literally or just in your head. When Pluto conjunct your Mars and starts heading for your Moon, you have to deal with your Moon inconjunct Chiron aspect. Cause your Chiron is in your 6th, I could think that this could have something to do with your body. But I am not going to guess what your Chiron could mean, you might know it yourself already.

But that's something! I hope you get something from this.

Re: Pluto Transits

Hi Ebenia,

Thanks for such a thoughtful response. It definitely soothed the anxiety, if only for a moment. I'm not sure if my chart is "fascinating," as I'm starting to feel REALLY unprepared and REALLY overwhelmed by all of these THINGS I'm feeling. Suddenly I feel like, I don't know, not me, but also this... cooler version of me?

weird. thanks for reading my chart. it sounds like this transit for you has been really eye-opening. i wish it was giving me more direction in my career, but i definintely feel that 7th house sun wishing and pulling for someone worth it.
