Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Virgo Int. 1/7!!!!

I have only been studying astrology for about 8 months, but seem to have a grasp on what it means as a whole, and how everything is in aspect to something else in the universe.

Lately, I've been thinking about oppositions, not only in astrology, but in other areas as well. Oppositions are about balance and bringing energy back to homeostasis or neutral level.

I have a full moon lunar in eclipse in virgo intercepted in the 1st/7th house axis.

I am looking for feedback on this specific aspect or aspects as a whole, but I will first try to give you my interpretation of it.

Considering how intercepted signs have difficulty being expressed, I was wondering what it means to have the two most personal planets (SunMoon) in opposition in those signs.

I feel that I have difficulty finding a fulfilling path in life, but doesn't everybody??? I idealize alot, which slows down my progress a bit because I need to control and discipline myself in order to accomplish anything. I related that to my Pisces sun opp Virgo moon.

It seems that my progress in life is greatly dependent upon relationships, but sometimes I feel that these relationships get in the way of my progress, and that I should refrain to being too dependent....Hence the 1/7 house axis.

Also I have my sun and moon on sign cusps. And the Lunar eclipse just intensifies the aspect.

What I have a hard time understanding is how this aspect plays out within the intercepted signs.

This is a huge influence in my chart and huge energy opposition in my life, and it's locked up in two houses?? Away from easy expression??? How can a sun and moon be locked up from full expression? How does that play out?? It certainly plays a huge part in my relationships. 1/7

Re: Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Virgo Int. 1/7!!!!

Hi there, The Bay70, you have an interesting chart!! What drew my attention to it is that quite close opposition between Pluto and Mars, which will create struggles internally - which can then become projected out into your environment so that you `create' opposition and power struggles with other people with whom you come into contact.

I am wondering if that Pluto-Mars opposition is actually at the core of what you are experiencing in your relationships. Added to that, the Sun-Moon opposition (which is frequently experienced aas subtle, but detectable conflict between the parents whilst growing up........ i.e. a struggle between the Moon (mother) and Sun (father)) forms an out-of-sign T-square with Jupiter in the 3rd house. It is this arrangement of Sun, Moon and Jupiter which I feel exacerbates the Sun-Moon opposition.

I feel that you may not be able to distinguish between the effects of the Sun-Moon-Jupiter T-square, and the Pluto-Mars opposition. One will tend to amp up the other, so that you could feel that everyone who should be on your side suddenly isn't, and you don't know why.
The energy of Pluto-Mars can be very, very powerful. Two men with this opposition are Jamie Oliver (TV chef from UK) and David Beckham (English super-footballer) and they have both managed to harness this energy - both are hugely ambitious and focussed - and created the lives they imagined for themselves, perhaps even beyond their wildest dreams.

With the interception, note that your Moon's nodes axis is also intercepted. It's just a challenge, and we are all here on earth to be challenged.

Re: Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Virgo Int. 1/7!!!!

Well it's easy enough to resolve interceptions, don't use them. Use Equal house system

http://www.solsticepoint.com/astrologersmemorial/hone.html
http://www.skyviewzone.com/birthinfoforms2/housesexplained.htm
http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=Z0nnE2IP7A4C&pg=PA167&dq=astrology+equal+ house&as_brr=3&ei=i0iJS-PlGo3mygS89Nn8DQ&cd=2#v=onepage&q=astrology%20equa l%20house&f=false

EQUAL HOUSES
“Another of the three most popular house systems is Equal houses which is just what its name implies. All the houses have the same degree on each cusp, and there are no interceptions. Equal house systems are especially useful for people born in the northernmost and southernmost latitudes, and this system is the most popular one in use outside of the United States.”
http://www.esotericapublications.com/art-eso-011.htm

Equal house system is the only system that is erected in the plane of the Earths orbit. The zodiac is erected in the plane of the Earths orbit around the Sun which comprises of a 360 degree circle that surrounds the Earth. The mid-heaven is often more, or less than ninety degrees (three signs) from the ascendant, therefore it is not often placed on the tenth house cusp, but marked where it appears in the mid-heaven according to the latitude and longitude of birth. The mid-heaven is taken as an important point; it is the point of self-mastery.
http://marianneohagan.com/house.htm

“The simplest approaches, the equal-house and whole-sign methods, merely require knowledge of the ascendant or ascending sign, and an equal division throughout the rest of the zodiac eliminates the need for any complicated calculations
Yet recent research into classical astrology has created a renewed interest in these simple techniques from a more scholarly perspective. The point of strength is that, regardless of the originating theory behind house division, in practice at least, classical astrologers tended to tie the houses to the signs, apparently concurring with Pelletier, who wrote in defence of the equal house method”

May I suggest you read the 'welcome to the world of astrology’ and other ---sticky' at the top of this forum? It has some great explanations, links etc. At the top of every forum there are lots of ‘stickys’ which explain matters in that forum, along with guidelines & tips

There is a 'plethora' of information on AW, espec in the 'stickys' at the top of every forum, our Education forum and Recommendations forum to. Plus we have a good search feature,[but not foolproof obviously, so try here first] bit like google using keywords –initially select advanced and try just selecting 'titles' rather than posts or you'll get too many threads. If this doesn’t get results then try google

Try checking out Bernadette Brady on eclipses. It's quite complicated; each eclipse belongs to a particular Saros cycle, and each cycle has its own characteristics. Her book now called Predictive Astrology goes into a lot of detail, and lists all eclipses in the past century and coming 20 years or so. It was originally published as "The Eagle and the Lark", so if you see that second hand it's worth it.

BB has a website, but you need to know what you're looking for.

http://www.bernadettebrady.com

You can check the Saros cycle of your natal eclipse on the NASA eclipse website

http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/solar.html

Hope this is some help
