Re: Tiger Woods - low self esteem for the greatest golfer in the world?
Some good points, Lilly!
I checked out transiting mean Black Moon Lilith for Nov. 27, 2009 and at 6 degrees Aquarius made a near-exact square to TW's natal Uranus at 6 degrees Scorpio.
Bingo, I say.
Lilith is the zodiacal Bad Girl, which would seem to describe both clandestine sex as well as the types of women he seemingly selected. Uranus, of course, rules sudden upsets.
If we explore a bit further, Neptune is the modern ruler of his Lilith's house cusp, and Mars is the sign ruler for TW's natal mean BML in Aries. These are opposed in his chart, the Mars being highly public.
Interestingly, transiting mean BML sextiled its natal position in Woods's chart at 6 degrees Aries. I am starting to rethink the sextile as a totally beneficial aspect. The sextile is a 2-series harmonic as well as a 3-series. It indicates excitement, for better or worse.

The Sat pluto square plays out across his first and fourth houses. Saturn is currently sextile his natal Saturn.
I also looked at the car crash in relation to his prog. chart. Again nothing indicating the type of event that took place.
I don't usually engage in celebrity astrology but i thought this was an interesting one. But if the data is wrong we end up looking a bit silly.

I think the chart is correct.
He had T Mercury opp his Mars... right between his Neptune/Moon conjunction. The T Mars sextile his Mars. T Uranus opposite his Asc, which had just gone direct.
I think the sextile from Mars might have saved it from being something more harsh. I also think that the media has made it seem a lot worse than what it was.

What about transit Uranus square natal Moon? Uranus has been retrograde since early July and got back to 22Pis41 just a few days after the accident.

Re: Tiger Woods - low self esteem for the greatest golfer in the world?
For those who have not seen the progress and transit indicators, I have found connections here. By progressing his chart (DOB 12.30.1975 @ 10:50PM, Long Beach, CA), Progressed Asc squares Progressed mercury retrograde with the transit north node conjuncting it. PMC is b/t NMerc and PMerc. PMerc inconjuct Natal MC (which conjuncts natal mars) Here we see whatever mercury means activated and also the link with mars (accident).
PMoon squares mars, Neptune and natal moon. That is, the natal configuration of moon/Neptune opposes mars being activated. There is a Neptune transit that reinforces this configuration. Thus, we have the conflict at home with his wife (moon-mars connection involving his domestic and public spheres) known by millions of people and the physical pain he endured due to the accident (mars opposed Neptune).
In addition, as trigger there is transit mercury opposing Nmars from the 3rd H of neighborhood (where it happened). Also, acting as trigger is Tmars which sextiles mars as well.
I hope this help.

Re: Tiger Woods - low self esteem for the greatest golfer in the world?
Good point astro09 about Saturn retrograde! That's famour astrologer Noel Tyl's big thing, as he writes and talks about Saturn retro and low self esteem quite a bit. I've certainly seen that to be true in many charts.
I'm also thinking that this big 'fall from grace' thing is just symbolic of the Saturn Uranus opposition, since Uranus does rule fame, and Saturn is about getting real.
America is such a country of extremes in many ways, and also very much about celebrity worship. They tend to put celebs on very high pedestals. This aspect, IMO, is about showing people how they externalize and project, and how they need to see people as the true flawed humans that they are instead of gods. For some reason Tiger has been pinned as the symbolic poster boy for people to get this notion to deal with their own stuff, instead of projecting it out there onto these celebrities.

This is so spot-on, barbh!!!
Now, either you have read B Hand Clow's New Moon report:
http://www.handclow2012.com/astroflash.htm
with her comments on Tiger Woods' activities and what it all means for the populace at large, or else your mind has been in the same space as hers has been.
Either way, your post made perfect sense to me.

Re: Tiger Woods - low self esteem for the greatest golfer in the world?
Thanks Raven. No, I hadn't read Barbara Hand Clow's report. As I read it now, she says that the tabloids function is to expose those who act like titans. Yes, they certainly do that, but I was thinking that its less about Tiger, and more about the populace and their own judgements and projections....he just happened to be the one they projected on to. Uranus and Saturn are in opposition, and oppositions are notorious for projections.

Thanks again, barbh.
I hadn't known that about Saturn-Uranus oppositions being known for projections, but yes indeedy, I can see that and relate to it entirely. That certainly explains a lot of what I have witnessed over the past 13 months since this whole Saturn-Uranus opp first began. Now, won't it be `interesting' in late July 2010 when not only Saturn and Uranus are in opp in cardinal signs, but tr Pluto creates a cardinal T-square!!!!!!!!
Gee - can't wait for that..........................

Re: Tiger Woods - low self esteem for the greatest golfer in the world?
Capricorn Sun and Virgo ascendant, I'd guess he be self-esteem problems from those 2 things alone, either is very powerful at usurping someone's ability to be at ease with themselves.
I want to understand what the OP meant by the people with the lowest self-esteem being narcissists. Like it is that since they have no self-esteem that also prevents them from having sympathy with other people?

Re: Tiger Woods - low self esteem for the greatest golfer in the world?
Tiger has Pluto in Libra trine Mars Gemini in the 9th as well as Mercury in the 5th of lovers..... so he plays around whilst travelling and has multiple partners..... He had a controlling father and perhaps his mother also had high expectations and as a Capricorn felt he needed to achieve and do the right thing. I think the playing around was a release for him. I think he is just bucking the father figure thing and rebelling against being the good boy always....
Although he speaks well of his father, there was a lot of pressure on him to succeed. Okay he is a great golfer but that is hardly something to really admire him for if he doesnt do good with all that money he earns...
His Venus is trine Saturn and I think he just plays around because he can and many men would do the same in his position. If even half of the claims are true of his trysts, it would still be prolific. Mars in Gemini also needs variety and especially with younger women....and quick and superficial contacts too, often more than one at a time... i.e. with twins is the ultimate fantasy.... This trine is also suggestive of a marriage for status and in some cases can indicate loyalty by the partner despite the scandals and deceit that are indicated by the Neptune ruled 7th house.
Neptune rules his 7th house and opposing the Mars in the 9th trine Jupiter again it is the opportunities to play around while he is travelling. His Jupiter in the 7th is square his Sun in the 4th and I think there are issues about where to live and cultural differences too. He and his wife dont just look right together to me.... she is more than likely a trophy wife or status symbol for him as well. She couldnt be more blonder or white and a beauty queen....She ironically is getting more endorsements as a result of all this publicity and doesnt need his money, if she ever did.
My feeling is that he just has the opportunities for a variety of sexual partners and felt he could get away with it with the arrogance of success and status and being away from home. He may have felt they didnt pose a threat to his family life because of the superficiality and the numbers involved. I have never heard any of these women say they were in love with him or he with them. I may be wrong.....

Hi Pallas trine Mars
We've had a thread or two on narcissism here
i had thought he might be, but R4VEN is the expert on narcissists, and she had a great answer to my question.

Its true that narcissists have very low self esteem, which is why they're always putting themselves first, always hogging the limelight, and have no empathy for anyone.
R4VEN is right, Tiger doesn't seem to hog the limelight, so perhaps he is not a narcissist.

I think it's that way round rather than "low self-esteems are narcissists".

As the relationshiop is basically Capricornian status for both of them was a huge drawcard. She the blonde white beauty and he the successful sportsman. Trophy wife, pardon the pun.

Plus they see the marriage and children as a responsibility which they put above love and softer things like that. Her Virgo moon (did I recall that correctly?) is usually willing to take a great amount of (self-)suffering if it'll certain things in tact.

Re: Tiger Woods - low self esteem for the greatest golfer in the world?
The car crash was so minor that it wouldnt impact from the chart...No one was hurt.
Saturn opposing Mercury does not influence self esteem necessarily. It can give negative thinking but also mathematical ability and once again the aspects from elsewhere tell the story. The danger of citing just one aspect in isolation.
So the birth data is in question????? I feel he may have Cancer rising actually.

I think that Virgo Moon rather more likely to be a single mother either by choice or circumstances... SHe would be practical about domestic matters
and self reliant.

Narcissists are just self centred and I dont think self esteem necessarily is the issue. Their whole world revolves around their wants and desires and they have little cognisance of how their actions impact others or they dont care. They are in love with themselves and themselves only

Actually, self esteem is at the very core of narcissitic behaviour - at least, the full-on, psychological kind. And they are not in love with themselves. Rather, they `love' (actually a true narcississt has no capacity for love) the idealised self which they work very hard to portray to the world around them. That's pretty much where `love' begins and ends for them. They have absolutely no self-esteem, so they build a completely false self from the ground up, then work hard on `selling' this false self to the world around them.
Tiger doesn't strike me as a narcissist at all, although perhaps his sexual behaviour away from home has narcissistic overtones. Like - How many buxon, leggy young women does it take for Tiger to feel good about himself? Apparently quite a lot, and maybe even more than we know about!
He appears to be someone who was pushed & molded into being what he became. And he has played around because he can - er, could - and because in his rarified environment, he could pretty much choose to do and be what he wanted whenever he was away from home. Like the modern day equivalent of a `girl in every port'.
You also have to ask the question - were Tiger called Tony, and were he a plumber or a paving specialist, truck driver or telephone salesman, would he have all those young women throwing their underwear in his direction? I think not. And I suspect that sensible, reliable Tiger knows this, and is striking while the name is hot. It would take a very strong and committed man to not go where Tiger has gone.
I think the shock-horror factor is to be owned by us - the public - in that we have gone right along with the manufactured image of the man, and so this makes his fall from grace all the more difficult to accept. Who is he really? Can his astro chart show us that? And have we been poring over his chart all the time he was winning tournaments and selling us Nike products on the Teev? No. We only really take a good long look at him when he behaves like us.
OK. That's my dose of cynicism for today.

Re: Tiger Woods - low self esteem for the greatest golfer in the world?
Story update ... they are now divorced.
Apparently she filed at the start of July. Neptune was square Tiger's Venus then and Chiron has just squared it. Big change in love and relationships for him! I guess that'll hit his Scorpio Venus very deeply.
Tiger has his 3rd Jupiter return at the start of April next year. Just around the time of the US Masters ... in fact the Sun is usually conjunct his natal Jupiter around that time which is perhaps why he's always so hyped up for it BUT Saturn is opposing from Libra.
