Update: Should I try to contact someone powerful, in the hopes of finding employment?

Hi All!

I have been unemployed for years and am at my wits end. Nothing I do seems to help. Hundreds of applications get rejected. I can't catch a break.

I have been playing around with the idea of contacting someone powerful (CEO) that I have some connection to (weak- but still a connection) to ask for help finding work and/or to offer my services to the company as a volunteer - to try to advance myself in some way. (Major changes are instore for me soon through my progressed chart and transits but I am looking at any and all avenues to help the change along!)

I cast a chart late last night when I posed the question...
I am not very familiar with Horary astrology so I have been reading the links offered by the community and would like help to interpret this chart.

-I (the Querent) am represented by Mercury in the 3rd House
-Career/Job (the Quesited) is represented by Uranus (retrograde)in the 11th

Since Mercury is Trine Uranus - I take it writing this letter would be a positive thing. Is that correct? What's the significance of the retrograde here?

Celeste Teal writes that planets in the 1st house are important...the moon in the 1st show that the Querent is indecisive but Venus in the 1st is beneficial and generally points to the Querents desires being met unless it is poorly aspected. The Moon and Venus are conjunct. The moon squares the quesited but Venus does not. Is this read then as positive?

Teal also states to look four houses from the house in question. The 10th house of Career would mean looking at the 1st for an idea of the outcome. How do I read Venus and the Moon in the 1st, since the moon squares the Quesited and they both square Saturn which is in opposition of the Quesited?

Also, How do I read chiron, Jupiter and Neptune in the 10th? They are all conjunct and Jupiter and Neptune are retrograde.

Also do you need to consider any points from the natal chart when reading an horary chart?

I apologize that I have so many questions...Any help would be much appreciated!

Re: Should I try to contact someone powerful, in the hopes of finding employment?

Doubleivy, hi. Very nice how you followed the links and tried to give your interpretations. Way to go!!

First of all, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto do not play a role at all in traditional astrology where horary astrology was born. In those times nobody knew about these planets, so we dont use them. You can however look at them for extra information, especially when they are prominent, on an angle. Then they could just mean "a big change" (Uranus on the MC for instance) in the career, or "emotional upset" in a relationship when Pluto would be conjunct the 7th house cusp.

So you are Mercury in the 3rd conjunct the Sun which means that Mercury is combust (within 8° of conjunction, but outgoing), not in good shape. You just cant see the end of the tunnel right now but because Mercury is passed the Sun, things could look up.

A career and a CEO or boss of a company all fall under the same 10th house. In traditional astrology Aquarius is ruled by Saturn, Pisces by Jupiter and Scorpio by Mars, so here we dont look at Uranus at all, but at Saturn.

Saturn is in the 5th house, which is also the house of competition, probably showing that right now there is a lot of competition in finding a job. The 5th house also pertains to children and love affairs.
As you want to contact this CEO, I could therefore assume that maybe in the past, you had a romantic fling with this person?

We now should look for a contact between you and him, or maybe your 3rd house, ruling letters and such and him.

First then Mercury and Saturn. There is a mutual reception between you. He is in your sign and you are in his term (see for this Ptolemy's Essential Dignities and Debilities. You can google this and print the list out, I always keep one by my side). There is no ingoing contact between you, but this MR shows indeed what you call "a weak connection". He seems to like you in more than one way as far as I can see because he is in your 5th.

You are also the Moon, being your co-significator. Moon will make an ingoing square with this Saturn. Both are ruled by Mercury so I would say that there could be a get together but a bit of an awkward one. The square shows some stumble blocks, maybe emotional from your side. Looks like you reluctantly want to contact hîm as it is your last resource. But after that, the last aspect of the Moon will be a trine to the great benific Jupiter in the 10th so this looks very favorable to me.

Venus, ruler of your 6th house of daily work, and Mars who rules the intercepted sign Scorpio are both in your sign and in the Ascendant (work in house 1) and also will both square Saturn and like the Moon, trine Jupiter. (Mars and Venus will not bump into one another, nor with the Moon because these two move faster than Mars, so there is also no impediment).

Your 3rd house is ruled by the Moon and as described above, it does show that writing him or contacting him is difficult for you I think,or that you should not write him but maybe contact him personally. The South Node is conjunct Mercury which is a very negative testimony. Where the SN is found , there things are not good for you. The ruler of the 4th house is the Sun who is peregrine. I dont really know how to interprete that. Probably it could mean that it will not bring much. Maybe he cannot offer you a job.

I have hope with that last aspect of the Moon to Jupiter, but on the other hand I think that writing is maybe not what you should do. Any other way of contacting him? Maybe just going to his office?

Hope this will help and also hope others will give their view here.

Re: Should I try to contact someone powerful, in the hopes of finding employment?

Starlink,

Thank you so much for your insight! Horary Astrology is very interesting although a bit confusing since I've only studied Natal/Western Astrology.

Since Aquarius is ruled by Saturn, which is in the 5th house, you stated that this is reflective of the competition that exists at this time in seeking employment. Understood!

Since Saturn would also represent the man in question and because Saturn is in my 5th house, you suggested that I may have had a romantic fling with this person. This is not the case. I admire him and his work ethic and what he has been able to accomplish. I do not know him, nor have I ever met him. I just have a weak connection to him through others I'm connected with.

How else can this 5th house placement be read since romance is not in the picture?

I am a bit reluctant to contact him - only because it is such a long shot really that I would come to his attention and I am very shy and not comfortable "networking", talking about myself or "selling myself", etc. Could the stumbling blocks maybe account for the administrative team that would screen his correspondence and who might not let my letter even reach him? Or could it refer to my own difficulties in overcoming my uneasiness in writing or talking about my accomplishments, skills, etc.? This letter would not be an easy one to write. It would surely be something I would fret over.

You also wrote that the South Node is conjunct Mercury and this was not good for me. Yet the last aspect of the Moon will be a trine to Jupiter, which does look favorable...so what exactly does this mean? Does this mean that if I do write (which is the only way I can try to contact him) I will get a reply? And/or could it be many months before I hear anything? Or do all the stumbling blocks and the SN just make this impossible and therefore should I just not consider writing him?

I hope you don't mind so many questions!
