How good are you at guessing...

People's signs (mostly sun and moon, if you can guess other planets you are TRULY gifted).

I've been pretty good at guessing people's signs, usually their moons, and sometimes even both the sun and moon combination (although sometimes I guess their Sun sign and it turns out to be their moon and vice versa).

However, I've always had trouble with the sign of Taurus, it can be really hard to guess this sign for some odd reason. Same with the other earth signs. However, I can always spot an Aquarius, Gemini and Libra, and I'd say the easiest for me to guess is Cancer. Leos are really easy as well.

Anyone else like playing this game, or is any good at it?

I like to try, but I usually need to observe the person for a while before guessing. I need to see how and what they talk about, if they are nurturing, picky or like flattery. I can't spot them just on appearance, I definitely need more information. Plus, the rising sign can be great mask.

True...even after knowing somebody for awhile it can be difficult, mostly because theyre a mix of alot of signs. Me, it's easy to guess my sign(s), having two stelliums. My friend was able to guess my sun and moon sign before knowing my bday. However, somehow, I've managed to guess people's signs right away simply because they "looked" like that sign...not just physically but had the essence or whatever. It's at least really easy to guess the element of the person, than it gets a bit harder to narrow it down from there.

Astrology is an Art and Science and besides we are not looking at your sun sign we are looking at your phsyical body which is your Ascendant sign.

I agree about the Ascendant but I refuse to believe the sun and moon and perhaps even the other planets influence physical traits, even if the person doesn't have any of those planets in the 1st house.

I can usually guess the element that is most dominating in a chart right away. I suppose that is too easy though, huh?

I am pretty on the nose 95% of the time guessing a sign, moon and many planets. My family is amazed and I have taught my DD to do it. You can always look at the palms and shape of the hands, they never lie. You can see some hand info here:

They sometimes lie. I have a friend who has a water hand but he is a virgo/libra/gemini (sun/moon/rising), and another friend who has a water hand, but she is aries/aries/leo. I have an air hand, but I am cancer/capricorn/gemini. So I suppose I'm the closest to being accurate by way of chirognomy.

Oh yeah and another friend is a libra/libra/scorpio and she has an earth hand. Okay I'll be quiet now!

Well I have a mix of the water and fire hand and i have a stellium in each so just by that it seems accurate. Maybe they reflect what element dominates the chart...I know of a few people with sun and water suns/moons but their charts are dominate by a different element.

I agree with that in a way... but astrology can get more complicated that the 4 catagories of elements in palmastry. Like I said I have an air hand, and while air doesn't appear often in my chart (just through my ascendant), mercury influences do and my sun is in the 3rd house. The air hand is about communications which is a 3rd house thing, and my mount of mercury is very developed. My friend who has an earth hand has mostly air in her chart, but her mars is earth and very strongly placed... her air energy funnels into it so she acts very earthy, and she works with her hands a lot.

The element doesn't have to come from numerical abundance only I don't think.

I usually pick up on about 2-4 possible sign energies that I narrow it down to... and then when I look up their chart, more often than not, usually at least 2-3 of those signs stand out in prominent ways (either personal planets or angles). I find that guessing a Sun or Moon sign can actually be difficult, by itself, but by guessing certain energies I pick up on, sometimes it ends up being their Venus or Mars.
Once I learn someone's Sun sign though, it's usually pretty easy for me to guess their Moon sign, because that's just a modification. Or, guess their Venus or Mars too. (when you really try to pick apart the person) Actually, guessing a Venus or Mars is (!) maybe the easiest for me... I am usually right... (for example, Venus in Gemini can be really obvious to me... or any element of air is really easy to pick up on... or Mars in Leo has a proud feel to it...) I just think that since Venus is what someone "wants" or finds "peaceful", if you will, it's kind of easy (the way they relate). And Mars is what drives them, whether they are socially driven & outgoing (air) or emotional & sensitive & easily hurt (water). So, Venus & Mars are actually kind of easy in my opinion. I actually have kind of a hard time picking out Sun signs!
Ascendants can be difficult, in my opinion, too!

In the several decades I have been involved with astrology, I still cannot guess or tell what signs are involved by physical appearance*: to be able to do this is quite a talent

!
However, when I apply physical radiesthesia (a kind of dowsing which uses samples and witnesses and measuring apparatus) my results have been most satisfactory.

*I have not attempted the fine art of astro-chiromancy

Yes, guessing signs by physical appearance isn't always easy, but some really are dead giveaways... for example, red hair=Aries! (it is usually some planet, if not rising or Sun) And Taurus really does have a broad eyed look like a bull (I'm Taurus Asc. myself and I see it...) Also, Leo's really can have blond "mane's"... but of course that's only for people who have blond or red hair in their genes, so it doesn't work for everybody.

My roommate, whom i haven't known for very long, seemed to just exude this dark scorpio energy, but he was friendly and sociable.. yet I couldn't get over the scorpio energy. I finally asked his birthday, after telling him how I felt, and he said he was on the cusp of libra/scorpio (which I said still makes him a libra...), but after looking at his chart his moon, mercury, venus and uranus were all in scorpio. So I thought that was cool.

Also, I was looking at a picture of Nicole Richie, and I thought she had such watery eyes, and she does have a cancer moon, so I get a little bit right sometimes!

I play this all the time. I can't help it! At first I was content to guess just the person's sign but I started learning about rising signs after being wrong about a few people. For example, this guy I know is a Gemini, but I thought he was a Leo. Turns out his rising sign is Leo and is so strong it overtakes his Gemini traits. (So he's not really a Gem as far as I'm concerned!)

As for ones I can always spot, definitely all the air signs. Plus Sag's, Scorps and Pisces. The rest are more difficult. And what is it about Leos that make them so easy to spot? I don't think I've ever been wrong with a Leo spotting!

This drives me nuts! But it makes so much sense. I know a Scorpio who's very emotional and used to cry at the drop of a hat. Then I found out his rising is Pisces and then everything made sense. One of my friends doesn't use his name but simply refers to him as "The Water Sign."
