Health indicators in chart

Hello everyone, I am new here. I'm trying to get some insight into my chart on health issues. I have my chart and know some knowledge (signs & planets) in general but unfortunately not too much detail. My bd is 12/16/68 and was born at 7:17 pm EST in Baltimore, MD.

I am currently on medication for PPD (postpartum depression) and I am curious to know if there is anything in my chart confirming this. I'm also curious to know about any other health indicators to be on the watch for (cancer) so I am not sure what to look for.

My chart says I have mercury in capricorn in the 6th house (I know sixth house rules health) but that is all that is there.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read and respond to my post.

Love & Blessings,
Chloe

Re: Health indicators in chart

Chloe, welcome to the Forum! I hope you will take a few minutes and say hello on the "introduce yourself" board.

Medical astrology works, in part, by the assignment of different body parts and illnesses to different planets, signs, and houses. The moon rules childbirth and emotions, and Saturn rules depression, so I wonder if you have a challenging Moon-Saturn contact; either (1) natally, (2) by current transit, or (3) by current progression. Some astrologers swear by (4) solar arcs, which move everyplanet forward by your age, and then look for aspects to your natal charts or angles.

If you are unfamiliar with the "free charts" section of Astrodienst at www.astro.com I recommend it, as it will calculate all these charts for you for free.

Another way to look at charts, esp. your natal chart, is to look at the rulers of the signs on the cusps of your houses. For example, if you have Mercury in Capricorn in the 6th, with Capricorn on the 6th house cusp, look to Saturn's position by house and aspects, as it should say something about what is going on with your 6th house Mercury. The 3rd house also concerns your thinking patterns, so if you have Libra (ruled by Venus) on the cusp of your 3rd, look to Venus by sign and aspects for more information.

Mercury in Capricorn, especially if it's challenged by other planets, can lead to anxious thinking on his own.

Goog luck to you, Mama! PPD is no fun, but hopefully you are able to enjoy your new baby and to realize that "This too shall pass."

Re: Health indicators in chart

chloe7, I created your chart on one of my programs, and have had a quick look.................

Firstly, I had PPD (undiagnosed at the time - this was almost 35 years ago, when people said things like: Keep your chin up!) after my first child's birth. What I now know about PPD is that it is often an opportunity to examine some of one's own deepest beliefs - perhaps about being a mother, or having to `do it all', or being Super Mom, or whatever. Just having a child is a very confronting and ultimately healing experience.

You have transiting Pluto in Capricorn very close to your Mercury in Capricorn in the 6th house. Your 6th house is also ruled by Jupiter - which you have conjunct Uranus in the 3rd house. I expect that this means that you are normally very optimistic, and a can-do kind of person, one who soldiers on when you have a cold, and who never slows down when you come down with a more serious illness, and so this post-partum condition has probably thrown you. Pluto conjunct Mercury forces you to look beneath the surface of your thoughts; it may push you to scratching away at your optimistic surface - the one the world sees and hears - to what is buried beneath. Pluto's transit to Mercury is a long one, so I don't expect you to suffer for the whole time. Depression is generally a condition which surfaces when one gets close to accessing your own deeply-buried anger or hurt. It will probably be important for your continued health to deal with this in an appropriate and safe way - that is, rather than taking it out on those in your environment.

Added to this is Saturn transiting your 3rd house, and this can dampen your enthusiasm, and lead you to feeling negative and self-judging. Saturn is currently in Virgo, and whilst this energy is ultimately healing, it can be very self-critical and negative in its early stages.

There's more, but that is enough to give you something to think about.
For instance, I believe that the triple conjunction in Aquarius - which is currently in your 8th house forming a close square with your natal Neptune - is perhaps dissolving some of those inner `structures' you normally use to get you through your life. Perhaps you'll ultimately be better off without them.

Re: Health indicators in chart

R4VEN,

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my chart! As for my PPD, this really has come full blown with my 2nd child. (My first- daughter- is 3 1/2) and my son is 11 months. The pregnancy with my son really "rocked" my system. I'm trying to do my best and take things one day at a time. It has been very challenging along with other things going on in my life.

Do you happen to know if there are any certain aspects related to cancer to found in a chart? I'm doing research this week and hoping to learn a lot more about it.

I do believe that astrology is a "tool" and can be very helpful with all issues. I look forward to learning more.

Thanks again!

Love & Blessings,
Chloe

Re: Health indicators in chart

Hi Chloe7!

I'm new here and just starting out in Astrology.

With regard to the cancer thing you mentioned this isn't anything to do with astrology but you might want to look up Dr Johanna Budwig and the flax seed oil diet.

I know people doing this at the mo and it is something that is basically a preventative and cure for things like cancer, arthritis (think I spelt it right)! and diabetes.

I'm starting it next week along with my hubby. The forces that be have tried their best to keep this info out of the public domain

Anyway, hope that's useful to you!

Chloe, just another observation.......................
Your 2nd child has been the `bringer of things to the surface for you', and not so much the first. With my 2 kids I had the PPD with the first, while I was aalmost euphoric with the 2nd - to be honest, I was a bit weird, but definitely not depressed at all.
Each child will bring `something' different to your life, and at different times. I find it interesting that you used the term "rocked" my system - very apt description.

I saw a TV program ages ago about PPD, and the suggestion was that when a mother experiences PPD with a child it is her own body system's memory response to her own mother's attitude to giving birth to her!!!! I was pretty interested in that, as it certainly explained a lot about my own relationship with my own mother.

Re: Health indicators in chart

Mystic Saz: Thanks so much for the info- I will look into it.

R4VEN: It's very interesting what you mentioned about he TV program- never would of thought of that. With my first child, I had a tiny bit of PPD but not like I do now. It really came full blown when I stopped breastfeeding my son at 8 months (he is 11 now). I would have lots of crying spells and feel very depressed and sad etc.....

It has never interfered with the care of my children and I don't have any anger. The medication has helped and at least I can get go to the store without crying at the gas station! LOL!

My OB said it's just part of the change I am going through and she believes it won't last a long time.
I feel like a part of me is still missing and I need to get it back. I know it's all part of my life's path on this earth. I firmly believe that the tough situations in our lives make us stronger (although we don't like to go through them) and helps us to learn the lessons we need to learn. This is definitely one of the tougher ones but then "this too shall pass."

Let me know if you come across any info related to cancer etc....

Thanks!

Love & Blessings,
Chloe
