Sanem's Chart

Hello everyone,

My name is Sanem, I'm 21 years old, I'm from Belgium.
I've been interested in astrology for 2 years now (started as predicted by my horoscope, ofcourse ), but I've been having trouble finding an outlet for my interest.

I plan on taking classes next year, but until than this seems a good place to let off some steam (see chart).

Here's my chart:

I've studied it a lot, but I'm always eager to learn more. Here is some stuff I've learned about myself so far:

- Taurus in Sun: I don't concider myself such a heavy Taurus. I was told that the third house is one of communication, and that I'd be good at a job like advertising. I suspect this also explains my love for photography and female beauty (like my neighbour, who's also Taurus and a celebrated photographer).

- Capricorn in Ascendant: I can relate a lot more to this, and also strongly to other Capricorns. I guess it's also a strong influence because of my Saturn position, namely in the 10th House, which I understand indicates a link between my life and my prestations.

- Aquarius in Ascendant: I always found it strange that I'm very openminded for a Taurus/Capricorn. But earlier this week I realised I'm also an Aquarius Ascendant, which explains a lot (for example a female neighbour of mine is Aquarisu/Asc Aquarius, and she's veeeeeeeeeery openminded in my experience, specificly about sexuality).

- strong 2nd House: Venus here, and true enough finances is something I never need to worry about. Which is odd, since my older sister has the exact same financial resources, but she always seems to be broke.

I've also got Mercury in Aries here, which makes me very... pasionate about getting what I want? But I understand that it's opposition Uranus, which sort of hides this aspect out of sight.

It also gives me a sharp, but overactive mind, forcing me to let off some steam now and than. But once this happens, I calm down, and often focus my interest elsewhere.

For example I'm a strong writer, but I have the problem of having a thunderous start but losing all ferocity half-way. But I'm learning to spread my energy, take a slow start.

- Mars in 4th: opposition Saturn. I understand this again gives me a very fiery, but supressed side.

And here I lose dynamism to write.

I learned that it
A) makes me attract demanding but able teachers
B) it gives me a subconscious agression, which will develop at a later age or in a family enviorment
C) makes me fearful of sex, but at the same time fixated on it. For one I've never had a girlfriend, but I don't know in how far this is related.

- Moon in 7th in Cancer: I'm extremely sensitive, very open about my emtotions, and I also have a tendecy to attract mother figures/Cancers/my mother is a Cancer.

- 10th House in Saturn: professional power is a disapointment to me. But since studying astrology, I've come to accept that I need to be patient, and have set up the plan to train myself until my 30th, before making full use of my capabilites. My studies are public administration management, although I also practice a lot of other studies aside that, namely fanatical KiAikido and next year Astrology and Emokinesiology.

Last year I followed an extensive psychology cours. An event that coincided with my father dating a women with a lot of experience in psychology, tarot reading, astrology, and with whom I had a strong attraction.

Later I learned that she was a Scorpio.

Well, so much for letting of some steam. I definitly hope to hang around here more, I've got plenty of questions...

From astro.com:

Mercury Square Neptune

"Another reason you are often misunderstood is that you have difficulty putting your very complex ideas into words. For this reason you should learn to communicate your ideas through some kind of artistic medium, if at all possible. In that way your mind can communicate the fullness of your thoughts to others."

Sounds very familiar .
Now, shall I go for taking classes in writing, painting, debating or music...
Or any other suggestions?

The clarify something you seem a little confused about:

You have a Cap ASC. You don't have another Aqua ASC. Just a Cap. Sorry, but everyone just get one ASC.

What you do have is Aquarius "intercepted" in the 1th house. Interception - meaning the sign is entirely contained in a house it doesn't rule, and likewisedoesn't have a house it rules on its own your chart - means Aqua is a "guest" in Cap's 1st house. Normally this causes difficultly with expression of that sign. In your case, Aqua, and anything falling in Aqua, including your Jupiter, any asteriods or point, and even planets via synastry, have to express themselves through a Cap "filter." This actually makes you very Cappy, whether you're ready to see that or not.

As for being "open-minded" ...first off, let me thell you I'm a Gemini, which means I'm highly cynical of human beings in general so this isn't meant as an attack on you specifically... people always, *always * think they're more open-minded than they really are. I suspect that what you are experiencing is actually your earthy Cap-Taurus sensuality, that gives you considerable "appetite" for experiences. Seeing you're pretty young, the world probably seems like a buffet to you right now. But assuredly, as you grow more experienced, your earthy nature will become more refined, fussy, critical, picky...well, more close-minded. It's the earth way. Earth is a habitual element, and as it forms its habits, the more it resists change and new things - and I can talk, as I'm a Virgo ASC. If you wish to be more open-minded as you grow, you're simply going to have to be aware of yourself enough to make the conscious choice to do so.

You do have Uranus in Sag in the 11th - this does make you very open and curious to people and whatever interests them. Add to this Jupiter (albeit intercepted) in the 1th (another 1H Jupiter here! LOL!), which can give a more "live and let in" attitude. But as you grow, your Uranus-Jupiter openness will be challenged by your Taurean Sun, which isn't easily aspected to either planet here. Again, this will call for you to be very aware of yourself and to make choices for yourself, rather than simply fall into very rigid Taurean habits of mind and body.

You seem to have a degree of artistic or aesthetic potential, although, as you hint at, it may be hard for you to develop it. You have a water moon (emotion, subjectivity, intuition) on angle, and your Taurus Sun (strong sensuality, aesthetic sense) in the 3rd (communication, thought) trining Neptune (spirituality, the subconscious, imagination). However, Neptune is the 12th (the subconcious, spiritual mysteries, psychic trauma, fears). This can be a mixed blessing. On one hand, it trines your Sun in the 3rd, which gives it an alternative way of expression (12th is not an easy house for expression, even for Neptune), but at the same time, Neptune may as be feeding your Sun deeply entrenched fears and uncertainities, ones that lay so deep in your subconciousness you may not be aware of them. Neptune is a vulnerable planet in a vulnerable house - this trine, while giving your Sun many positive things, may also be inhibiting it somewhat. Good thing it's only a trine. With some self-reflection, patience, and growth, you should be able to overcome the "darker" side of this aspect.

I think the biggest challenge for you - in regards to anything in your life, be it personal growth, developing your talents, even relationships with others - will be self-discipline. This may sounds surprising to say to a Cap ASC, but that's the lot of it. You have several challenges that will demand self-discipline. Be mindful, for you run a seriuous risk of letting your Cap ASC "keep up appearences" that you are a very self-discipline person, while underneath the surface you're far from that. Regrettably, seeing reputation and self-image is very important to Cap, any Cappy person runs risk of such hypocrisy. Don't let it happen to you.

Here's where you can get yourself into trouble:

- Aries Venus and Mercury, plus Gem Mars: very active yes, but impulsive, impatientt, even shallow. This makes your mind and body restless, so you're not good at follow-through. You need to focus on keeping your word and finishing what you start. Be carfeul on making promises you can't fulfill and starting too many projects at a time. Remember that details make a big difference, so don't gloss over things. While you may seem open and interested about other people, if you are too fickle and indifferent in the long run, people will only see you as shallow and unreliable. So you'll also have to learn to be attentive, thoughtful and reciprocal in your relationships too. (Note that with Saturn aspecting all 3 planets, change may be difficult - again, this a a matter of self-discpline. It won't be easy. Beware of the "this is how I am - you can't change me" mindset. That will only make you miserable and lonely!)

- 7th house Cancer moon opposing ASC: this makes you very emotional, moody and subjective. You often feel very vulnerable and easily threatened. Remember that the 7th is the house of relationships and *open* enemies. Trouble is that a worrywort, defensive Cancer moon may be tempted to look for enemies in nearly everyone. You'll need self-discipline here so not to let your emotional intensity and moodiness run your life. Remember that fear and worry should not be the prime reasons for you to make choices. Allowing your Cancer moon to make you defensive while only limit your possiblities for growth. Through self-discipline, you can channel your moon's emotional intensity into much more productive things.

- Taurus Sun squaring 1H Jupiter: a square with fixed signs is a challenge indeed. Bad habits, rigid thinking, denial, resistence to change, inablity to accept criticism...you get the picture. Add to this that your 1H Jupiter whats life to be all good times and fun, fun, fun. When life dishes you out a dose of reality, it crushes you, as this Sun-Jupiter aspect is already tense enough. Jupiter's disappointment becomes a blow to your Sun's vitality and self-worth. You'll need both mental and emotional self-discpline here to keep every little let-down and set-back from turning into overwhelming crises for you.

Anyhow, that's a boatload, and I know I didn't answer you more specific question, the "what should I do with my life" inquiry. Well, that was intentional. You're a Taurus - that means you'll do whatever you want, and anything anyone says don't really matter. Rather than telling you what path I think you should take, I would prefer that to guide towards the insight and tools that will help you make those choices for yourself. Good luck.

least aspected Uranus

Sanem,

You said:
Quote:
Capricorn in Ascendant...Aquarius in Ascendant: I always found it strange that I'm very openminded for a Taurus/Capricorn. But earlier this week I realised I'm also an Aquarius Ascendant...
You don't need to switch to a different astrological system (i.e., change the sign of your Ascendant from Capricorn to Aquarius) to find your strong Aquarian energy. Uranus (friends, also rebellion) rules Aquarius and you have least aspected (strong energy) Uranus focused in the 11th house (ruled by Uranus) sextile Aquarius (ruled by Uranus) modifying Jupiter (expansion). This is the only major aspect Uranus makes in the chart (in my opinion, the trine to Mercury is too wide to be significant) and so there is a challenge on "connecting in" to Uranus energy. As a result, you may OVERdo Uranus energy, as way to try to "feel" Uranian. The challenge is to accept that you ARE Uranian, even if you don't always recognize it. And it seems you are meeting that challenge very well.

Feeding back,

Tim

More Uranus-Jupiter

Sanem,

Also, your Uranus and Jupiter are in mutual reception, indicating that they each reinforce the other. This also gives you a more "Uranian" feel.

Adding on,

Tim

Lol, looks like I got more on my plate than I can eat (self-sarcasm, what aspect is that? Although I am not sure it is sarcasm, since I find it amusing to make fun of my own fixations. Is that Capricorn making fun of the seriousness?).

Lunar Pisces, my thanks, what you said is very valuable to me, even though I don't (yet) understand a lot of it.

Thanks for explaining interception, it is something I came across recently, and I assumed it ment I had basicly a mixed Ascendant.
But you also mentioned about it that "This actually makes you very Cappy": is that because my anti-Capricorn (too use a rough definition) Aquarius and Jupiter are cancelled out by my dominating Capricorn?

Because my Mars and 1sth House are also dominated by Saturn and Capricorn, and my Aries is watered down by Neptune, so I was wondering if this all comes from the same source. Namely my mother has been suggested to be too unaffectionate, and my father too dominating (possibly much like they were by their own parents).

I am often close-minded and stubborn in my ways, true enough. But on the other hand I am very curious about new experiences (which you did explain), but another factor is that I tend (at first) to pick the side of the underdog in any discussion, acting as a midgitating actor. But I'm guessing that's my Cancer being sensitive to other people's emotions and translating them to the opposition.

Self-discipline is indeed a problem to me, especially when I'm not "keeping up appearances". It's quite a serious problem of mine, but something I'm altogether avoiding.

"very active yes, but impulsive, impatientt, even shallow... so you're not good at follow-through" And once more I lose my drive to concentrate and write. Self-discipline, right.

"to keep every little let-down and set-back from turning into overwhelming crises for you." Oh yes, there's the little fella. The thing is I've of late been experimenting with ways to cope with this, namely through my Aries side: venting my emotions makes them subdue (the advantage of being impulsive, impatient, even shallow  ).
I this is also related to my Cancer side, me being oversensitive. And again, I find that using my Aries agression as a good counter-balance.

On a side note, a lot of this is new and difficult to me because of the trines, squares, etc... which are much more complicated than the basis. Never the less this is good ground for learning.

Tim, also thanks for your views. I've read up a bit on Uranus and it's effects.
You mention overdoing Uranian energy: I do have a natural tendency to differentiate myself from my peers (no doubt helped by Taurus), not rarely overdoing it a bit.
But on the other hand I do know of myself that I am rather unique in my ways: at my age I've done things that few of my generation have done or would even concider doing.

For example I have a tendency to be the youngest in most groups I am part of, as well as a strong tendency for the alternative, un-normative, like astrology. Although I do tend to become normative and unflexible, once I've engaged in the alternative.

Maverick, also thanks for your interest. I'm not familiar with the sabian symbols, although to be frank and honoust (rather than trying to sooth your honour and make promisses I won't keep), I'm not going to study it either (being unflexible and all that, which does feel nice to accept about myself).

No problem!

I simply provide information; it is your decision whether you wish to disregard it or continue more in-depth study...

Thanks anyway (refrains from making excuses).

I'll definitly engage in in-depth study, but that of the aspects (I've studied some books about them, they had some extremely interesting stuff, but it was too complicated at the time).

Here's a question, if someone cares to have a look at it: I have a very strong pride, how does that feature in my chart?

Re: Sanem's Chart

Hey Sanem

I'm going to take a stab at your question, but keep in mind I'm just trying things out myself, and hopefully someone with more experience can some along after me and confirm or challenge the diagnosis

I notice that you have a mars saturn opposition. Mars is associated with asserting your self in your environment, 'making your mark' so to speak, and going after what you want. Saturn is associated with both limits to your abilities, and hopefully, eventual mastery of your abilities. In other words, Saturn tends to show you where you have to WORK IT to establish your credibility

So, you have a planet of 'assertion' in opposition to the planet of 'realism'. Mars is in your fourth house, which describes, amongst other things, emotion. I suspect that Mars in the fourth house may give you very strong feelings about the need to assert yourself. Saturn is in the tenth house, which, amongst other things, describes your ambitions, career, public image or area of responsibility. My theory is that, with Mars (fourth house) opposite Saturn (tenth house) strong feelings about asserting yourself may be directed towards your highest ambitions in life, or career.

You may feel frustrated, as you mentioned, or disappointed, that you haven't personally achieved as much as you hoped to by now. However, you may still have a very strong feeling of needing to achieve, and also, a strong sense of your potential. Perhaps these relate to PRIDE

Saturn opposition Mars can also be associated with uncertainty, or insecurity in asserting yourself, so I am not sure that I'm correct in this association with your strong pride. You also have Jupiter in the first house (which may be associated with a very strong, 'expansive' or optimistic sense of your self and your abililites) square your sun (which is typically associated with self confidence). The square might signify some over-optimism regarding self confidence??

Like I said, don't let me tell you how it is, but here are some ideas to look at anyhow

Re: Sanem's Chart

Howl, thanks for the stabb ; the reason I asked was because I had a rather odd emotional experience with a therapist once, but she remarked that I had a strong pride which counter-balanced my emtional oversensitivity.

Mabel (Braindamaged) put up a bit of text about Saturn/Sun, which inspires me to note down my experience of yesterday.

Being a strong Capricorn, I tend to be a perfectionist, mainly because I'm afraid what people might think of me if I fail (fear of failure).

One way I'm fighting this is by focussing my behavior on my Marsian energies: mainly my Mars in 4th I think starts providing me with a more independant train of thought, as to what others might think of me (a rather agressive one too ). It is opposed by Saturn in 10th, which I think is my fear of being overly expressive, but also the fact that I actually need to use discipline to be expressive.

But something I've tried in the past and yesterday, and might be of interest to other cappy's, is to make faults on purpose.

Namely I do things extra slow, which might infuriate others because I'm not being perfect and considerative of them (but I think that's my Moon opposition Capricorn Ascendant, or Trine Saturn). Or making mistakes on purpose, and doing things twice on purpose.

And now I'm gonna clean out that pig sty of mine that I call home (what might people say if they saw it ...)

Re: Sanem's Chart

Some random things I learned yesterday:

- importance of 7th house in relationships. An interesting example is my mother, whose two major relationships in her life were a Libra Capricorn Asc and a Capricorn Libra Asc. So now I'm gonna see if she has those two signs in her 7th House.

And me having Cancer in Moon in 7th House, being strongly attracted to Cancers in general, the only two women I've ever told I loved them were Cancers, and I've got some heavy mother issues (who's also a strong cancer).

- Libra Asc make often use of the word "dishonest". Is this typical for Libra's?

Moon Opposition Ascendant

Just found out that 90 % of the people I'd define as "best friends" have Moon Opposition Ascendant, just like me. Curious.

Fair

Sanem,

I think a more typical word for people with a lot of Libra energy in their chart is "fair". Libra is all about "balancing things out" and anything which is out of balance (i.e., not "fair") can really upset them!

Fairly,

Tim

"and even planets via synastry, have to express themselves through a Cap "filter." This actually makes you very Cappy,"

Re: Sanem's Chart

Well, I just spent a weekend on a training camp, mainly in the company of two Libra's, so I did get some more experience with Libra's.

One of which is now the archetype of Libra to me: for example when asked a question, she'll always concider it for a few moments and than answer "yes... and no..." .

I get along well with children too, and a favorite of mine was a little Gemini, although judging by her face, I was expecting a Cancer.
Anyway, once finding out her sun sign I decided to test the theory, and used a lot of verbal communication with her, which worked out very nicely.

I shared a room with an Aquarius guy; when he asked me what was so typical about Aquarius types, I told him he was the first male I met who showed a serious interest for astrology rather than concidering it superstition by default .

Hey Mabel ; yes I do often refer to myself as a Capricorn, since I have in my eyes a very strong Capricorn energy.
I figured your Scorpio suggestion made sense with me being a Taurus and all . I like Scorpio women a lot: I've often felt a weird yet strong attraction towards them, only later finding out their star sign, which would objectively suggest I do indeed am naturally attracted to them...

After Cancers I figure I get along with Cappys best: I've got this girl in my class I like a lot, I love it when she just talks, very self-concious, and I can relate to a lot she says since I tend to have similar emotions. Which reminds me, I've gotta get my exam results.

Re: Sanem's Chart

ps: something I do try to keep in mind is that sun sign alone is a limited way of astrological analysis, luckily I caught a lot of birth hours this weekend in my nets (the two Libra's, as well as an Aries who tends to behave with a lot of Moon energy, but who certainly drives like an Arian [I like that about her, not sure if that's a good thing... ]).

tehe. My DAD drives like an Arian. In fact. he is one

You'd get sick of it after a while.
(literally.) I usually get nauseous, but at least i don't throw up.

Re: Sanem's Chart

Lol, it's really funny, because the Aries in question is a martial arts teacher, but she's really afraid of hurting others (once someone walked up to her looking for trouble, asking her what she'd do if he attacked her. She told him "nothing, I'd be too afraid to hurt you". The guy left without a further word ).

But than I spent a weekend with her and experienced her Arian side more (for one thing she doesn't seem to mind my own Arian side). And I like her agressive driving, because I drive the same way on bike (although with a motor/car I drive much more carefully), very assertively.

Re: Sanem's Chart

An interesting read from this place: http://my6s.astrology.com/scripts/ru...L:997986121:CJ

Venus Square Neptune with an orb between 1 and 3 degrees

Love for you is often a "divine discontent". You are so romantic and idealistic it is difficult for any mortal person to sustain your interest without disappointing you. Your need to idealize loved ones may make you susceptible to illusion.

Any cute immortals out there?

Mercury Conjunct Venus with an orb between 3 and 5 degrees

Intelligence is sexy to you. If a person you find physically attractive isn't also bright, verbal and someone you can talk to, you're not interested. You have a highly developed aesthetic sense and are drawn to people of taste, wit and charm.

Hm, communication is a definitive turn-on for me.

Sun Opposition Pluto with an orb between 3 and 5 degrees

Power struggles plague your relationships. Either you become the dominant partner out of a fear of being controlled or you become very passive, controlling indirectly through guilt or manipulation. Your father may have been emotionally abusive to you.

Yikes, but I believe we've discussed the Sun/Pluto need for control thing.

Mars Opposition Saturn with an orb between 3 and 5 degrees

Your emotional needs were not met when you were growing up and there was nothing you could do about it. Even today, you tend not to express anger or pain or resentment except when you are in an infrequent rage. This is a problem in close relationships.

I've tried writing my agressive emotions for a while, which were very strong, and that helped a lot, also to become more agressive and assertive in my thinking and handling. But I stopped doing it...

Sun Trine Neptune with an orb between 3 and 5 degrees

One of your great strengths is your sensitivity. You tune in easily to the psyches of other people and, while you may not notice the color of their eyes, have an almost eerie understanding of their private inner worlds. Your close ties are very private.

Not sure about this one, not very tuned in with my 6th sense (I mean that in a non-comical way; I assume we all have abilities supressed by our rational society, although I do not blame our society for that as such. You see, there I go again, supressing my anger... ).

Re: Sanem's Chart

I am currently reading Astrology: The Evidence of Science (1988), by Percy Seymour. As a result I developed a fearsome interest in the work of Michel Gauquelin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michel_Gauquelin), which is not good concidering I have an exam tomorrow...

The book also made reference to his research on similarities between charts of parents and children, which interests my own person strongly: my parents both have Saturn in Schorpio in 10th, while I have Saturn in Schorpio in 10th conjunct Midheaven, and my sister has Saturn in Schorpio.

I was also very sad to read about his end.

Now that I have that off my chest/out of my Mercury in Aries/Mars in Gemini head, I can focus again on my law studies (if my chart has anything to do with the rest of my family, I'll have good use for it my later career ).

Re: Sanem's Chart

I am a bit bummed with the work of Gauquelin: apparantly his findings apply to the 12th and 9th house, contrary to the 1th and 10th house I was expecting.

Does anyone know a way around this, or maybe more about his work in general?

I find the theory very interesting, since I have Saturn/10th/MC, Moon/7th/DC, Mars/4th/IC (I think, not sure how many degrees it has to be for conjunct) and Jupiter/1th.

Anyways, I am starting astrology classes next month, hope she'll be able to shed some light on it.
