VENUS RETURN - How to?
What are the basic steps for a Venus Return?
Natally, Venus is 14* Aries & this year, she is retrograding in Aries. So technically it will hit my natal Venus 3 times. Are all 3 times important or just the last one?
So far this is what I've come up with: First VR was on Feb 28th. Houses 3 & 4 (& maybe 5) are emphasized. The Asc is the same as my natal Asc in Sagitarius. VR Jup is in stellium in 3rd & is conj Mercury (the Des ruler) in the 3rd House of communications/short trips but separating.
Next, I notice Venus separating a conj from the Moon of emotions & cusping 5th house of creativity/fun. She is also in separating sextile to the 3rd house stellium of Jup/Merc/Mars. She rules the 6th/11th Houses of daily routine & wishes-social groups. All angles are mutable. The 3rd house ruler, Uranus sits right on IC cusp & opposes Saturn at MC...Possibly means unexpected events involving my communications, home & public view? ...ugh, sounds boring

Re: VENUS RETURN - How to?
Hi, Moradiva.
The first 2 retrogradations and aspects will probably be more noticeably significant, especially the second one because during that one you'll probably begin to re-evaluate some things. The first highlights, the planet loses energy and is stressed when stationing then the second re-examines (or can cause some negation if negative significations are present), the third gets things going again/puts things back to where they were or is the point of restarting something (this one is very external, you probably won't really notice it much. It's not as bold as the first 2 or you're just too used to dealing with that planet's issues to really care, at least until it's back up to speed or out of shadow).
People make the mistake of assuming retrograde planets are "weak," whatever that means to them, but actually a planet turning into or already in retrograde really does force you to pay attention to it and takes prevalence (not so much a re-directing planet which is pretty much null). Remember, a planet is closest to Earth when in retrograde.
You get one or three Venus returns every year (usually just the one) and it's never far from or after your Solar return (birthday). It's a fairly decent transit, I've read before that it makes you more popular, you get more offers to go places with friends, might even help you get some romantic dates. It'd be easier to tell how this will affect you if you had a bi-wheel with your natal chart and the event chart (perhaps a progressed chart also).
I don't care very much for Venus retrograde: fake apologies and it seems to involve the death of prominent women in my family.
That's what I think anyway, hope it helps.

I believe that the last one will be the keeper.

Re: VENUS RETURN - How to?
Hi Pallas & Cassandra
Thanks for replying. I really appreciate your input...Ok, for what it's worth, I checked out the remaining 2 charts (attached). The 2nd one just happened on Mar 12th. Libra/Venus is rising & in the 7th House of Mars. She is applying a weak semisquare to Mars in the 5th. Venus rules 1st & 8th. She is separating an opposition from the moon in the first. Then she applies a square to MC (Moon ruled) & opposes Asc. All I get is looks, emotions (1st), public view & fun/creativity? Honestly, I don't know what to think...
Then my 3rd VR is May 19th, ("The Keeper", per Cass ) Cap is rising, Saturn in the 8th of sex/death/rebirth & has a quincunx to Venus in the 3rd (communications). In the 3rd is Moon (desc ruler) & she applies a conj to Mars (ruler of 3rd). Hmmm... Could this mean love life gets into motion once the Saturn issues are addressed? Saturn is in Virgo=6th house of daily routine matter & that's ruled by Gemini, Merc's other planet... Again no clue Anyway, this time around Venus rules 4th, 5th & 9th. In the 5th is the Sun (8th house ruler) & at a critical degree of 29* Taurus. Does this indicate an ending of a 8th house matter?
Am I doing this right? Do I need to apply these charts to my natal? Coincidentally, all 3 charts have the same Ascendents to my Natal, Solar Return & Progressed Charts.
I try to compare past returns & just once I met a long term boyfriend during the last Venus Aries Retrograde 8 yrs ago. (I know it's not advisable but, hey, relationships did not last even when she was direct ) It lasted 6yrs but really should've ended in 2 yrs. I currently see someone now that I like A LOT but it's in the early stages. I met him when Venus was direct long time ago.
(2 charts attached below...VR & Natal with VR)

Re: VENUS RETURN - How to?
Yes, yous should compare your Venus chart to your natal.
First, what natal house is rising. Again, as in other return charts, that is what leads the interpretation.
Once you know what is rising you go to that house and its opposite in the return to see what is happening.
Then you see where Venus is and what she aspects.
For instance, this Venus return for me, Sagittarius is rising. Sag. rules my 9th house. Venus is in my 8th and the main aspect is an opposition to the moon in the second. I have had a lot of legal issues surrounding my ex-huisbands child support and my income has fluctuated badly due to his changes in jobs.
Venus is not only about love. It is also about 2nd house issues such as material wealth and happiness ie money.
In your third chart or the one that will last for the rest of the year, it does appear that 3rd house issues surrounding a relationship will be a focus. It has not helped me much in my venus chart to see what houses she rules but you can track that and see if it helps. It looks like home, creativity or romance and higher education or long distance travel seem to be a focus and with mars and venus together this does emphasis the 5th house Moon and sun in sextile with the sun in the 5th would be marker number three to add to the argument.
I do know this. It seems like most of the activity happens when Venus crosses the angles.
I probably do not get much of the energy of the Venus return as I am an Aries rising and probably should pay more attention to the mars return. Those with Taurus or Libra rising or with a sun/moon or other major emphasis in Venus ruled areas would probably experience more.
Most of what will happen will occur in the last part of the year with venus in a cadent house and venus in cadent does imply a prepartory phase. If Venus was on an angle it would be more action.
Hope this helps. And Happy Venus Return

Re: VENUS RETURN - How to?
Hey, keep us posted. I love feed back and it helps me and I think others understand how things play out. Since you have three it should be interesting to see how that plays out.

Re: VENUS RETURN - How to?
Cassandra
Coool - so I was onto something there in the 3rd/final return! After posting last night, I thought more about what Saturn in Virgo in 8th could represent & quincunxing Venus in 3rd; could it possibly mean a dental bill I owe?? Saturn = teeth, Virgo = health, Venus = $$, 3rd house = contract ...I've been contemplating on a 2nd job for this.
OH & yeah, I will definitely keep you posted on the love dept!

Re: VENUS RETURN - How to?
Quincunx implies adjustments.
What natal house is rising. That is what might help you understand Saturns meaning.

Re: VENUS RETURN - How to?
ohhh - I forgot that...ok, my Natal 2nd house of Cap is rising & Saturn in the 8th of other's money/taxes/fear....I take that as money I earn an issue as it is aspecting Venus; natural ruler of 2nd house & at 0* - beginning of an issue I guess?
BTW, Cassandra, thank you so much for your time & guidance. It really helps!
