Moons aspects

I think I finally have the receptions down. So my next question has to do with what some of the Moon's aspects mean.
I understand that both Venus and Jupiter are benefics. So what would Moon trine Jupiter mean and Moon opposing Venus? Oppositions eventually mean separation, right?
What does it mean when the Moon squares the Sun?
Moon trine Mercury...the parties may communicate? Moon trine Mars? Don't know what this means.... except if it's a square or opposition then arguments.
Trying to get a better understanding of how to read them.

Re: Moons aspects

Venus and Jupiter are benefics, but they don't always help. Benefics in detriment or fall can be very harmful, indeed. Aspects to planets are in general just as you say, using the general meanings (Mercury for communications; Saturn for blockages, etc); but again, not always.

I don't think there is a safe way to generalize Moon-to-planet aspects without a context. If you are looking for the Moon to translate light from one planet to another, but the Moon aspects a third planet first, that is impedition, for example; and that impedition will 'mean' whatever it means within the context of the question: a person, a communication, illness, a different job, or whatever, gets in the way of the perfecting aspect.

I suppose it is helpful to first understand the meanings and implications of planets in and of themselves: what they rule, what their colours are, what illnesses they signify, what body type, etc. etc...but again, all of these have to be translated from chart-to-chart, depending on what that chart is about.

What is probably most helpful in understanding how the Moon works in the way you have asked, is to get a good, modern-English version of Lilly's Christian Astrology, and read Lilly's charts. They provide excellent examples of what planets 'mean' in aspect to the Moon, within the context of the question...context being key to everything.

Re: Moons aspects

Yeah I probably need to get a book and then just practice reading charts.
I have learned a lot from this forum though. When I came here I only knew how to pick the significators. I knew nothing about reception or the moons aspects.
