Peacock!?
Hi,
I was searching through some posts on this site and found that someone was talking about a star configuration of some sort called a Peacock? Something about a peacock anyway... I googled it and found Pavo is the Peacock star.
Could someone please shine some light on this star for me? TEE HEE. My favorite bird is a peacock and I would love to know how I can find my peacock in my chart haha!
If anyone needs to know I was born

I'm familiar with this fixed star, because it is conjunct my Venus in Capricorn, ruler of my mid-heaven.
Peacock
Vanity and love of display, together with a long life and sometimes fame
23° Capricorn 49 Fortunate Venus/ Mercury/ Saturn
So if you have any planets within a degree or two of 23'49" Cap, then Peacock is prominent in your chart. (Some might also count an opposition - so planets within 1 to 2 degrees of 23'49" Cancer.

Re: Peacock!?
See that's kinda where I start getting lost when people speak of something being close to the degrees. I can read a chart but I'm self taught and I guess that only goes so far haha.
I know I have no planets in Cancer.

Re: Peacock!?
It is a surprise to know that I have my saturn in conjunction to the peacock!!!
It is nice.
Then my saturn is super dignified! Even more dignified than I thought. It´s placed in capricorn (23º41'' degree), inside capricorn ascendant and trines venus in taurus (25º11'' taurus conjunct with the algol star).
Wow. This makes me want to study more the fixed stars.

Hi Freedomlover =]
There sure must be an origin to such attributions the star has been given.
As for example, the star algol has been linked to the mith of medusa, an ancient virgin or ninpha (correct me if I´m wrong) that became a humanoid looking beast woman with hair made of snakes and fulminant glare, after being kidnapped and abused by poseidon (what a terrible thing did happen to her by the way).
Maybe if you know, FLover, you can post the history of the peacock star. Can you, please?
If you are not so clear about that, no worries, I can search it.

Hi, Squapius!
I'm sorry, I'm unaware of there even being a "history of the peacock star". I don't think poor Peacock is as popular as that evil old Algol. I posted all I know about it.

Re: Peacock!?
Hello Indigojade,
As you can see, this thread has been moved from the 'Aspects and Configurations' board to the Greenhorns' Lounge, as has also been your other thread: "Migraines Nose Bleeds.." from the 'Medical Astrology' board to this one.
When you start a new thread, you agree to the text in the box below, which you also need to abide by, so please take note of this.
Quote:
Important: Please agree to this statement before creating the new thread.
"I am familiar with the forum rules. I have applied my own astrological knowledge and insights to my question. I have given my own basic astrological interpretation before asking others to comment.
I also understand that if I choose not to give a basic astrological opinion in my post, the moderators reserve the right to move the post to the Greenhorns Lounge forum."
|
If you choose not to astrologically attempt to answer your own question, please try to post new threads at the Greenhorns' Lounge, in the future. Also, it would be helpful for others, if you could, at least, attach your chart when requesting for a chart-based reading.

Re: Peacock!?
Ok Moderators... I am assuming if I have absolutely NO idea about something and I need to ask to know because I have googled it immensely and still come up with nothing then it goes in the Greenhorne? Got it, noted. I can't answer a question astrologically if I don't even know what it is to begin with. The only input I could put in is that it is also referred to as PAVO. I am not trying to just DUMP things on the board as I have tried to answer other questions to the best of my knowlege. Most of the people here no a lot more than I do so I put in what I can and ask the rest. I figured it would go under constellations because it's a star formation.
NOW, This Madusa thing interests me as well as the Peacock star. The only Capricorn I have is 10th house Jupiter.
Thanks.

What is the degree of your 10th house cusp? and any planets you may have there - their degree.
I'm trying to understand what level you are at. Please don't be offended if I ask, but do you know what "degrees" are in a chart? I'm asking because I've asked what the degrees were and received no answer - only this statement of yours.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Can you tell me the number that is at the cusp of your 10th house in Cap?

Yes, you can put posts with questions/queries, to which you cannot astrologically contribute, at the 'Greenhorns Lounge'. As part of virtual communication, the only/main criterium that we mods (can) go by is whether or not the thread-starter has included his/her own astro interpretation (at the onset of the thread). If so, the thread is made/allowed to remain part of the appropriate forum; if not, then it belongs at the 'Greenhorns Lounge'.
