Oh, you lucky Virgos. The rest of us may be asking to borrow your money. It turns out that the richest people in the world--and we're talking billionaire rich like Berkshire Hathaway's Warren Buffett and Oracle's Larry Ellison--are Virgos.

With the help of professional astrologists Jeff Jawer, Michael Lutin, Tad Mann and David Railey Forbes reporters Lacey Rose and Chaniga Vorasarun did a very unusual analysis of the annual Forbes ranking of the world's billionaires. They determined that 12 percent of those listed are Virgos, making it the most common Zodiac sign among the very rich. Virgos are born between Aug. 23 and Sept. 22.

Lutin says Virgo, the sign of the virgin, is characterized by these traits: hardworking, determined, detail-oriented and analytical. More than the pursuit of riches, though, Virgos are driven by their desire for excellence. They are a utilitarian lot, who enjoy producing things or services that are of use to others.

The sign with the least number of billionaires is Sagittarius, Nov. 22 to Dec. 21.

The good news is that every sign has a few billionaires. Other billionaires and their signs:

*virgo- i think they are #1 because they are hardworking, organized and understanding. the virgos i know are latter climbers, they stay in one spot and work their way up. they dont rely on hand-outs, have patience, know how to save, and practically invest.
*capricorn- #2 similar to virgo, but these are career focused. will work towards the perfession rather then occupation and also work their way up. they are critical of others and not always as caring so that may help of hurt them.
*aries- #3 they are the strongest of fire signs, always looking for new ideas new things to make and create. could easily be nubmer 1, but often are best at starting and initiating rather then fallowing all the way through, may get bored easily or try to rush things or step on some toes. saving money isnt usually one of their strong suits sometimes make brash decidions.
*scorpio- Im throughing scorpio in here as #4, (bill gates is one), these are intuitive almost forseeing people who can sense the motives of others. their instincts are usually correct, but may get rapped up in who is out to get them and revenge rather then looking to the future. they tend to be pesamistic therefore probably save money and want to see that it grows.. they are very intellegent also
Gemini- #5 this air sign may not pay much attention to detail or change their mind often, but the versatility and communication skills can make them very sucessfull. they can socialize and talk about anything, transition well from topic to topic and have a variety of knowlege. when focused they have excelent ideas for constant improvement and new ideas.
*taurus- #6, just based on experience, these people seem to be more of collectors then workers. they make ties with people of status and network. This earth sign accumulates material things that attract more weath to themselves and spend money to make money. but nothing stands out that would make them wealthy on their own two feet.

sag- they usually take too many gambels
leos- they may be too trusting
cancers- too sensitive
picies- too busy dreaming
aquarious- cant commit
libras- too indecisive

A solid top 3, but the list falters after that. Let's not forget Bill Gates was born in the Year of the Rooster (Western equivalent Virgo) as well.

Another thing to note why earth signs are smart with money are the air signs they have in the right houses.

Virgo -- Libra in 2nd (house of money), Aquarius in 6th (house of transactions/preparation/training), and Gemini in 10th (house of career, reputation, public image)

Capricorn -- Aquarius in 2nd (house of money), Gemini in 6th (house of transactions/preparation/training), Libra in 10th (house of career, reputation, public image)

Taurus -- Gemini in 2nd (house of money), Libra in 6th (house of transactions/preparation/training), and Aquarius in 10th (house of career, reputation, public image)

I am a virgo, taurus ascendant, virgo 6th, capricorn in 10th. Am very hardworking but i'm a workoholic.

Still 21 and on my way to becoming a lawyer. The effort is what'll get us virgos there.

Regardless of the Sun Sign and it's talents--For someone to break into the stratosphere of the wealthiest people on Earth there needs to be some Cardinal sign(s) in the Chart to initiate and boldly take chances that others might not.

Bill Gates for example is a Scorpio Sun but he has an Aries Moon, Mercury, Mars and Neptune in Libra and a Cancer Ascendant (w/ Capricorn on the MC). When others were sitting around thinking about things he didn't hesitate to get out there and make those thoughts a reality, and his net worth now reflects that bold move.

I think that a strong Mars is important too, as Mars is the planet of getting what you want. I have Mars in Leo, in 12th house. I guess I eventually will get what I want in life.

I wouldn't say it was the most "cardinal" fixed sign. More like, the fixed sign that's quicker to initiate than the others.. though that's debatable, when we see how sudden the Uranus co-ruled Aquarius is.

Now that I think about it Capricorns have the "leadership" abilities of a cardinal sign, and the endurance of earth.

Would you guys say that a person without a strong Mars doesn't have as much energy towards getting what they want?

Of course to make a lot of money you have to be a pioneer, a believer and a leader. Aries has all of these qualities - they can create empires out of nothing. If they have too much Libra it makes them too lazy and they just dream instead.

This has been my experience anyway.

Mercury would probably be the planet of strategy, because of the intelligence and reasoning factor.. while Libra, is a strategic sign.

I have moon in the 4th house Virgo. I work from my home. Taurus is on my 12th, whatever that means.

My Sun sign is Capricorn

sun is in the 8th house conjunct Mercury in Cap.

2nd house is Cancer whatever that means...

I have a virgo stellium friend, he never gives up, being a mutable helps him flow with the steam I guess. My sister has a huge virgo and she wants to be rich too. Workaholic.
