Is he my son?
Hi,
I have been asked to cast a chart for a man who wants to know if the person claiming to be his son, really *is* his son:
Some background.
A man aged in his late 30's has received communiques from a woman claiming he fathered her child born 1992.(She married someone else and has raised the child with that partner, to whom she is still married).
I am wondering if I should use the ruler of house one and the ruler of house 5 and see if there is any relationship?Or receptions.
(I have not drawn up the chart yet, but I have the exact time the question was asked).
Is there another/better way to word this question?
This man has no other children.
Would it be better to look at transits to his natal for the year in question?
Of course I suggested he seek a DNA test, but these are very expensive and the mother refuses to pay, or contribute to the costs. The man is experiencing financial hardship at present.
Can anyone advise me on the best way to address this matter?
Thankyou,
Lillyjgc

Well dear,
I think if you alrealdy have a question, do the chart and let it guide you!!!Probably youŽll look for some First/Fifth house connections...But without a chart...we canŽt see!!!

Re: Is he my son?
Thanks drisha,
At this stage I'm not asking for help with the actual interpretation, just want to be sure this question can be answered by horary, and if so, is it worded correctly. There may be another way of asking, for example, *Is the woman telling the truth*. It's not a *rumour* as such, but the boy has been told this man is his father..
I'd like to get the question and houses right, *before* I look at the chart.
Thanks,
Lillyjgc

Get the childs birth data (at least the date) and do a synastry chart with the alleged "father" - use your own astrological judgement as to whether, based on synastry the child is or is not likely to be his son.

Re: Is he my son?
Mr Stellium,
Thanks.I had considered synastry-problem is, the birth data of the child is not known-not the date or the place, at least not by this man. As the houses are so important in synastry, I'd be reluctant to look too closely at the synastry without accurate birth data.Thats why I was hoping I could ask this in a horary way.
Cheers!

Re: Is he my son?
I don't think this is a problem for a horary chart, Lillyjgc.
I'd just use the 1st and 11th (the child of his ex). If there is a relationship between the significators, even minor, or placement in the 5th, the chances are likely. This would especially be the case if the Moon is involved, as it is the natural ruler of children...and more especially if the Moon is dignified somehow.
Of course, one has to ask what the woman's motives are for revealing this NOW, 16 years later. Look at the 7th and see what that planet is doing.

Re: Is he my son?
Thankyou very much Archergirl. House 11 for the boy! That sounds right. The fifth did not feel right to me,( even though it rules children.)To use H5 presupposes that it is his son and I want to be as objective as possible.

Yes, that was my first thought too (and his!)Now off I go to look at the chart. As I was writing this, I received a text message with the boy's birthdate. No time or place, but better than nothing. How's that for synchronicity?
If I have trouble with the chart , I'll post it up on the correct Board and pick your brains again.
Cheers,
