January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
SOLAR ECLIPSE JAN 26TH 2009 - 06 DEG AQUARIUS
LUNAR ECLIPSE FEB 09TH 2009- 20 DEG LEO
i haven't seen any thread on the january 2009 eclipse yet, so i thought i would start one since its going to be on my birthday.
anyone know what the theme of this eclipse is going to be?
is it conjuncting anyone's planets?
its hitting my sun conj IC, (and jupiter will be conj my sun too) so im real curious how its going to effect me. home life? definetley. move? hopefully. were still waiting for the finalization of our building being sold, and if we are headed off to the west coast.

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
Solar eclipse will be 2 degrees conjunct my Moon, in 7th house
I don't really know how important eclipses are, but they do affect me, I noticed.

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
I had the Lunar Eclipse on my birthday last August 16th. Honestly... I cannot see any big changes. But I have read that Eclipses have a long effect. This just happened four months back. I still believe that it is going to effect me and I am standing ready for it. But on this past year, I have been looking at the stars and re learning astrology. Also I have read that there are different strengths in these Eclipses. I wish you well.

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
It appears the eclipse will be over Angolia and parts of Australia. The next total eclipse will be July 22nd and will affect china. Some feel that unless it passes near to your location an eclipse will have little if any affect. If it does have an affect the annular eclipse in Jan will be opposite my natal venus in leo at 7'38. The last eclipse went principly over China. From what I have read it does seem to have long term effects and it was conjunct venus/mars at that time. I am not sure what to look for as far as change.

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
yeah lion king, it takes a transit to trigger the effect of an eclipse. what house was the eclipse hitting ur sun? you didnt feel anything? the eclipse on this coming january in aquarius will be exact deg my sun, conjunct my IC, but at the same time jupiter will be 2 deg away, so im wondering if this eclipse will bring out some action (something that has been waiting to happen) . i hope its nothing negative because my sun aspect are afflicted by saturn and pluto. but i have jupiter there to bring me some luck. maybe it will just be harder for me to have confidence to actually make a change. i guess we'll see.

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
From my experience eclipses can be triggered by transiting planets for +/- 6 months. Look to the eclipse degree and watch the faster moving planets to see when they hit. For instance, Venus transited the 26 Jan eclipse degree of 6 Aquarius just recently, so perhaps that could give one an inkling into what the eclipse is activating. I believe Mars and the transiting Node will be around the eclipse point in February.
I personally don't have anything triggered by this one, however my ex-wife has Venus at 7 Aquarius and the person I have been casually dating has Venus at 5 Aquarius, so I would expect to watch something happen in both of their cases.

can an eclipse bring back stuff from the past? or better yet let me ask this, last year's feb eclipse in aquarius... can this upcoming eclipse bring up issues that were brought out in last years aquarius eclipse? or did not that make any sense? lol

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
January 26th is Australia Day, Rebuplic Day in INdia, and Liberation Day in Uganda.
So I think it is worth looking at the Australian chart to see what influences are about, seeing as the eclipse will be over some parts of Australia.

That depends, I would guess, on the house position of the eclipse(s) in question. If the 2/08 solar eclipse happened in the same house as the 1/09 eclipse, then it could definitely generate similar issues.
The eclipse location is about 11 degrees off of the eclipse from last year, so it's doubtful it would impact the same planets or points in your chart.
The other way to look up connections is to follow the Saros cycle, however that usually doesn't repeat for many years, possibly decades.

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
Thanks for postin this Venus didnt know there was going to be an eclipse...It is gonna be squaring my Sun, Merc, Venus, Mars...squares are supposed to be a challenge arent they hmmn and it also opposes my NN so I guess this one may have quite a big effect arent eclipses supposed to help some things die off for other better things to take their place?

anna violet,
[QUOTE]to help some things die off for other better things to take their place?/QUOTE]
true. it is also said when u want to get rid of something, to do it during an eclipse. eclipses also bring things out to the public as well. i.e. like a secret or something like that. especially important info can come out. eclipses can bring ends or beginnings. carol rushman says:" An eclipse signals the beginning or ending of a cycle of development in your life, which can work either positively or negatively." eclipses can also make events happen that you have been waiting for. for instance, if you have been waiting and waiting for some important event to happen, and the eclipse triggers it, u will see how it goes depending on the eclipse and the aspects it touches.

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
Hi Venus,
Ah thanks for explaining that...Just before the last eclipse I read something that was saying an eclipse is a potent lunation and a good time to ask for something..then I was chatting to my friend and she said she really wanted to meet someone and I said I did too so we decided to write a prayer asking for partners listing their qualities etc and then burn it at the height of the eclipse..so we did this and then 2 weeks later the day before the lunar eclipse she met a woman who she is now totally in love and together with! I met someone too about a month and a half later but its not working out- I guess it wasnt the right time for me!

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
thats such an interesting ritual! ive heard of something like that before, but not at the height of an eclipse. by "height of the eclipse," do u mean as its happening in the moment?
sorry it didnt go as planned. maybe for you its not working out, because the eclipse wasn't setting off any 7th or 5th house stuff for you? was the eclipse effecting any planets of yours when you did this?

Hi
I looked on the net and found out the time of most coverage and then burnt the prayer...I didnt check what stuff the eclipse was setting off tho- that'd have been a good idea may do that now. Also be interesting to see about my friend as she is now in a relationship...we had a joke that her prayer worked cos I used some special paper but she just used normal! lol!
I did have/have saturn trining venus tho and thought that was sposed to be a sign of commited relationship but im sure there have to be other astro factors involved..the guy i met is a commitment phobe lol
So what do you think the eclipse will bring you or what would you like it to bring?
Anna

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
anna violet,
you should check to see what planets of your friend's were conjunct the eclipse! its a great learning tool
im guessing that this upcoming eclipse will have to do with a move. not actually moving that day, but maybe some news about it. (i am probably moving to the west coast.) but im also guessing it might have to do with something financially, because my sun sextiles jupiter and uranus in the 2nd house. + jupiter will be on my sun that day. maybe ill get a nice unexpected job (im not working at the moment) when i see some action ill def post, so we can see how this eclipse effected my chart. im extra curious because my solar return for that day im a triple aquarius all conjunct the eclipse.

January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
This eclipse will be conj my natal Moon (3 Aqu, 5th house) and opposite natal Jupiter (4 Leo, 11th house).
Coincidentally, does anyone remembers the Solar eclipse of 26 Jan 1990? That too was in the same degree (6 Aqu). I still remember 1990 as the best year of my life. So, not every eclipse has to be dramatic, it would be nice to get a repeat of the 1990's one!
I believe that Bernadette Brady thinks that the Jan 26 eclipse will be a good one.

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
The New Moon in Aquarius on Jan 26th (Australia Day holiday - rah, rah) is equally as impressive astrologically as the full-on New Moon in Capricorn an hour or so ago. The eclipse adds extra oomph!!
Sun, Moon, Jupiter & North Node all conjunct in early Aquarius, as well as Neptune & Chiron conjunct later in aquarius -
Venus conjunct Uranus in Pisces opposing Saturn in Virgo -
Three planets in Capricorn, including Mercury & Mars conjunct (both also conjunct my natal Asc) -
We're living in exciting times!!

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
Wow its time for eclipses again, so soon! Thanks for the reminder.
And its just near Jupiter, that might be nice... mmm.
It falls in my 2nd house (??), and trine my Libra Pluto/Gemini South Node. Should be interesting with Hades involved! It conjuncts my progressed Mercury, which rules my 5th house.
It also is exactly opposite my b/f natal Moon, ruling his 4th house. And trines his progressed Moon which is approaching my South Node.
Me thinks something is afoot here!

What would the eclipse bring?

What house does your Sun rule?
It might highlight the issues concerned with that house...

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
I did a search and found this information on eclipses and found it amazing. The information was written on this site BTW:
Quote:
The ancient rule was that the effects of a Solar eclipse last as long in years as the eclipse lasts in hours; of a Lunar eclipse, a month for every hour. From a Figure cast for the moment of commencement of the eclipse, events were deduced as affecting countries ruled by the ascending Sign, based upon the strength of the planets in the Signs and Houses
Some modern authorities consider that the countries which lie within the eclipse shadow are probably those in which the events signified by the eclipse will be felt. In the Nativity, the eclipse is most powerful when it falls upon the birth position of a planet, luminary, or ascending degree.
Contrary to ancient superstitions, eclipses are not uniformly evil. One man's loss is often another's gain, and an eclipse in good aspect to a benefic under good directions can result favorably. Those on the places of the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or M.C. and on the malefics are, however, unfavorable influences. Frequently their effects are not felt until some time thereafter, when another planet, principally Mars, transits over the degree on which the eclipse occurred. Thus an eclipse-degree becomes a sensitive point for several years after the eclipse has passed; in fact, until its consummation is attained with a subsequent transit of Saturn over the eclipse degree. Frequent reference to the following tables in connection with current or past events, will contribute vastly to an understanding of the major trends that are set into motion by the third dimension of the Moon's orbit - that which is vertical to the plane, marked midway by the passing of the Nodes.
|
So it would appear, since I have this particular eclipse falling directly on my ascendent of Aquarius at 6:22 degrees (Venus conjunct on one side, Moon on the other side), that this particular eclipse is not exactly going to be 'something I should look forward to'....I find it interesting to note that the affects will not be felt until Mars transits over it, and that the eclipse will be felt for several years or until Saturn passes over my ascendent. Since Saturn is upon my Saturn return, this event will take many, many years to come before this eclispe is 'done'....
It doesn't exactly sound like a 'walk in the park' if you know what I mean.
Any thoughts of this 'gloom and doom' picture, or am I overreacting?
I attached my natal chart (it has some progressions I was looking at, but don't pay attention to those)....I'm more worried about the 'impending doom' of the eclipse....
Thanks for your help !!!!

Re: January 26 2009 Solar Eclipse
Wow thats alot going on in that ASC area of your chart regardless of an eclipse, and that is exact then, I went to a lecture last fri the speaker specifically spoke on the coming years eclipses this ones effects will last 6 years, as the above article mentions the eclipse is 6hrs 4min it is solar so it lasts 6yrs. It is #51 in saros series 131 which began in 1125 AD. Effects are strongest in visiblity areas (Sumatra Java S.Africa) I don't wanna be your doomsayer, please try not to be negative or worrysome(very saturnian comment you said) This eclipse IS connected with Jupiter.
from what I remember in the lecture this one isn't all that bad. J.Lily

Well, if this is the case, Mars will go over the eclipse point some two weeks later, around 13th February, and Saturn will take more than 6 years to come to the point so...
Could someone explain if this eclipse is on my natal Moon in 7th house, can I expect positive or negative effects out of it?
