taken from wikipedia (the best source on the net...... )
Quote:
"Jupiter returns occur every twelve years or so, and indicate a new phase of growth and development in life. The first Jupiter return, at around age twelve, concerns the move into adolescence and puberty; while the second return at around age 24 concerns the first real moves into the adult world. The year of a Jupiter return will usually be a good one, with prizes won and grants awarded. Writers are often first published in this year, and sports people achieve their first important goals. Foreign travel and higher study are often indicated. The Jupiter return is the ideal time to push forward and be assertive, as efforts will usually be well rewarded."

I have had two Jupiter returns since I first started studying astrology--they occur about every 12 years. I confess that I have not seen a big impact. Jupiter is a "feel good" aspect, but it doesn't necessarily mean you will win the lottery and get a check in the mail. It may just be the time when the pain stops momentarily. Jupiter is also the philosopher, so notice if you get any deeper insights into yourself or the world around you. These may guide your personal life philosophy in the years ahead.

My Jupitor is in the 12. But doesn't this mean opprotunities?

A lot depends upon how your Jupiter is aspected. If your natal Jupiter is involved in squares or oppositions, transiting Jupiter during its return will reproduce them.

But any transit is an "opportunity"! Some are easy and happy, others are of the challenging "bite the bullet" variety.

Ditto everything Waybread said.

Without knowing your chart only general comments can be made.
Generally Jupiter Returns are favourable for some kind of expansion in life. This may be a time when new opportunities present themselves to you.

For myself, the Jupiter Return has been a time of expansion of ideas and knowledge. For my second Jupiter Return, I got into the study of astrology. For my third Jupiter Return, I pursued further teacher training.

Jay,

Jupiter is the planet of growth, expansion and optimism. It is also known as the planet of belief and search for truth, as well as of good fortune- though this really would depend on the aspects it is forming not only to its native self, but also to the other planets.

Btw, we have the facility of an Education Board, which might be of interest to you in order to learn on the site itself, actively approach and practise astrology.

Now that you have some general information as regards the planet in question as well as a helpful link, my suggestion to you would be to put your chart up, if you want to have a more concrete discussion (this is how you can do it), and have a basic go yourself at trying to understand the meaning of the Jupiter-Jupiter conjunction in your case. This is the most interesting way to learn astrology.

Optimistically

PS: I will move this thread to the 'Transits board', as it is incorrectly placed on this one, and will leave a redirect behind on this board, so you as well as the other posters can easily locate this thread.
