Sun Mercury

I want to ask skilled astrologer: Sun and Mercury is always in conjunction.Only in conjunction. Is it correct.
Thanks!
I think that best tennis players have sun conjunction Mercury, but now it seems all people have Sun conjunction Mercury.

The Sun and Mercury are never more than 28 degrees apart, and the Sun's orb of conjunction is 10 degrees, some say 15 (A planet within 17 degrees of the Sun is said to be "under the Sun's beams", and within 8.5 degrees, Combust (Burned up)). I would only consider the Sun to be in conjunction with Mercury if they were within a 10 degree orb. Regarding good tennis players, or sportspeople in general, look to the sign, house and aspects of Mars.

Re: Sun Mercury

Traditional astrologers might argue that planets' effects are weakened by being very close to the sun. If you think about the sky, this makes sense, as the sun's light would overpower the reflected light of a planet too close to it.

I've had pretty good luck, however, in thinking that a person with a planet conjunct the sun identifies with one or more of that planet's core meanings. As noted by Mr. Stellium, Mercury's orbit is very close to the sun, so the conjunction is fairly common. I would read it as the person identifying with his/her intelligence or some other Mercurial function like communication, working with the hands, or being quicksilvery in some way [like playing tennis.]
