Re: Will he ever get his vision back?

Hello Gesso, well, this is not an easy question but I will try to figure something out. From the Rulership book I get that:

Structural Eye afflictions and disorders are ruled by Aries and Sun
Left eye of a male = Moon
Right eye of a male = Sun

Eyesight is signified by Mercury and

general Defective eyesight is the Moon

So lets look at the chart.
You are Mars, strong in Scorpio and about to enter the 1st house.

I won't take the Moon as your co-significator because I want to use Moon for general defective eyesight.
Moon is in Leo and conjunct the South Node. Is it his left eye? it is a bit confusing as the Moon signifies left male eyes and Leo, ruled by the Sun could show his right eye. I tip on the left eye in this case. This conjunction shows how bad his eye is I suppose.

Your husband is Venus.
Normal eyesight is Mercury

I would then see if Mercury will apply to Venus with a good aspect.
There is unfortunately no aspect between them. Mercury passed the sextile to Venus and Moon cannot perform a translation of light between them either.
There is one lightpoint though, which is the Mutual Reception between them.

Quote:
having the AC in the via combusta; is the chart no good?
I dont think so. Asc. is you and it probably shows how you are feeling which is lousy of course. Your husband seems to be more optimistic than you are with his placement in the 1st house (accidentally dignified) and in Jupiters rulership and term.

Venus and Jupiter are in Mutual Reception and as Jupiter is the superior benific, I see this as a good sign.

Quote:
But moon in the 9th is usually unfortunate?
Who says??? never heard of that one.

Quote:
Is my husband the 7th house(venus) and then i use his 6th house(and the 4th from there) as the success of the surgery?
Yes, I would look at it that way as well. His "end of the matter house", ruled by Mercury in the fortunate 11th house and in the rulership of Venus looks to me that he could get his norma eyesight (Mercury) back.
As it so happens, the 8th house of surgery is also ruled by Mercury and I think therefore that the surgery could be successful.

Oh yes, the last aspect of the moon is a sextile with the Sun! It is hard to see from the Ephemeries if it still happens when the Sun is in Libra, but it most certainly will be very close and the orb of the Moon, outside sign is 12° so in any case this sextile will be valid. Nothing better than a favorable Moon-Sun aspect.

Moon is paralell to Aldebaran (which shows the Bull's left eye) It is one of the four royal stars. It can be favorable for domestic matters. Lets hope so!!

I looked at the Sabian Symbol for Venus. It says:
" an old owl perched high up in a tree" Keyword: hightened sight and seeing.

Re: Will he ever get his vision back?

I posted the former one out of fear of loosing what I wrote which happens very often. I still wanted to mention the Sabian Symbol for the Moon:

" A street pageant moving along a street packed with People"
Keywords: Demonstrations, joy and community celebrations of victory of faith. Looks like partying to me.

For Mercury, the end of the matter ruler:

"Miners are emerging from a deep coal mine"

To me this would mean coming oût of the dark into the light.

The oracle begins by saying: it may feel as thought you've been operating in the dark, or in some kind of underworld. It may even feel like you have been in some kind of hell. Imagine coming back to the surface. Look carefully at your situation, for it may take time for your eyes to adjust to the new light.

I find this most interesting and very much hope all will go well with your husband.

Cheers, Starlink

Re: Will he ever get his vision back?

Hi Tik, yes, I know that Moon probably wont get to Sun, but William Lilly often did use a perfection outside sign, in other words, to a planet in the very first degrees of the next sign. Here the Sun is practically on the borderline (I should make a chart for that day like Goca once did so we can see exactly).

No Tika, you are not going insane, at least I hope not!

About the Moon in horary, I read this in Anthony Louis's book, referring to what Marc Edmund Jones writes about the significance of the Moon:

Some astrologers overemphasize the significance of the Moon in horary. I agree with Jones that "the role of the horary Moon is secondary and adjunctive". Jones describes the Moon as "the special distributor of the more trivial indication in any given reference; i.e., the public panorama, experience in general"
The nature of the last aspect of the Moon correlates with the answer to the specific horary question about 50% of the time, a frequency accounted for by chance alone!. The system I follow for horary analysis puts the Moon in the back seat. What drives the chart are the aspects betwen the rulers of the significant houses. Anthony Louis, page 86 in his book Horary Astrology plain & simple.

Re: Will he ever get his vision back?

Gesso, I am telling you, these Sabian Symbols are something else!! Soooo telling!!
Quote:
13º Scorpio (223): AN INVENTOR PERFORMS A LABORATORY EXPERIMENT.
this is almost eery!!

The changing of the Sun from Libra into Scorpio, mmm.... In Libra he is in fall, but Sun is parallel Spica, that must count for something.
In Scorpio, Sun has some dignity between degrees 10 and 12 but for the rest he is peregrine of course. As I mentioned above, structural eye afflictions are ruled by Mars and the Sun, so for the Sun to enter the rulership, triplicity, term and face of mars that could of course mean things wont get better, but Mars is very strong, practically dignified in the 1st.
Sun was already in the 12th, not entering it.

I still have hope the operation will be successful:
Mercury, ruler of 8 fortunate in the 11th and ruled by Venus who is acc. dignified.
Mars, general ruler of surgery is very strong in own sign and can be counted as being in the 1st house.

Re: Will he ever get his vision back?

Hi Ray, I bought the book written by Linda Hill, really informative and very well written. This is all you really need. In our Astrology Weekly also, search the Sabian Symbol Forum (and also via the homepage you can get to Sabian Symbols) in order to find out more. Personally, I dont like to strain my eyes more than I already do by searching the net. So I prefer to buy a book as reference.

Cheers, Starlink
