I've been fed with many incorrect information by my mum, amongst many is a myth about a birth time. She said that "most babies are born in the early hours of the morning...." until that is when I started to look at birth charts.
|
In my experience, a very good-sized portion of the charts I've done seem to have been on people with a birth time between 5 and 10 am. I don't know why this is so. Nor do I know what the person you quoted considers "early hours of the morning" - whether that means daylight hours of morning, or the "wee" hours of, say 1-5 am.
Just commenting,
FL

Between 5am - 10am huh? That's interesting and thanks for commenting.
However, your experience could possibly be yours only...who knows?
I think my mum meant wee hours of the morning.

Yeah, I was only stating my experience, and in no way meant to imply that it is definitely this way all the way around. But I commented because I had noticed long before you posted this thread that there seemed to an abundance of birth times in that time frame. I never knew what to contribute it to, so I commented here, thinking someone else might have some insight.
Oh, and upon re-reading, I see that you did both reference the person who said it, and the time they meant. Sorry, I'm still coming out from under a very bad Mercury retrograde cycle that really ******* with my thinking.
As to your survey - sure all surveys can have flaws, but they're often not apparent until after they're completed. I say go ahead and do it. Analyze the evidence, and see what you come up with.

Re: Birth time research
My first post!
I was born around noon, but mine was a hurried-along birth. Many modern births are "helped along" to go faster, unfortunately.
My two sons were born fairly naturally at 3:39 am and 8:05 am.

Re: Birth time research
I was born by emergency Caesarean section in 1:14 AM.
My sister was born by scheduled Caesarean section at 6:18 AM
My mother was born naturally at 2:00 PM in the afternoon
My father was born naturally at 10:30 PM at night
I like Kerrie's idea so I'll just put in the ascendants.
Myself: Aquarius
Sister: Libra
Mother: Libra
Father: Capricorn

Re: Birth time research
Ok personal information for you. The times are scattered throughout the day for my intermediate family, the birth time is unknown for the parents... although the one thing I have noticed is that the majority of my siblings and the only niece (no other nieces or nephews yet) where all born with an Aries Asc, and Asc's go on exact time. I want to research this further... but being an Pisces... I will one day, lol.
Older brother born 1977 at 2.10pm - Aries Asc
Myself born 1979 at 10.10am - Aries Asc
Younger sister born 1983 at 5.05pm - Cancer Asc
Younger sister baby born 2008 at 7.08pm - Aries Asc
Younger brother born 1986 at 6.05pm - Aries Asc
I also have a cousin that I did his chart for and his Asc is also Aries born in 1982 at 8.30am - Asc Aries
Oh, I have the year because I think that this would count towards your research, back in the days I would assume, that childbirth was more 'natural' and not as timed as now, with doctors scheuling babies birth times to suit their lunch time and sleeping habits with inductions (is that the word?).

Re: Birth time research
Mmm I just re read you would also like, "I was born by natural childbirth
I was born by scheduled cesarean section
I was born by emergency cesarean section
I was induced and born at..." I will need to get back to you on that one.

Re: Birth time research
Interesting topic...
I was born at 6:55PM (nearly 2 hours after sunset). Got my head squished with forceps a little, if that counts for "induced", but other wise natural.
My brother was born naturally "somewhere around midnight" - I badly need to rectify his chart. The time on the birth certificate is a minute past midnight, but that was a guess based on the fact that it was past midnight by the time anyone looked.

Re: Birth time research
Oh, this is the survey thread? I thought you were asking our comments about the viability of a survey like that.
Ok, some birth times for you:
I was born at 9:32 am. All I know about my birth is that they knocked Mom completely out, and she remembers nothing about it - but it was not Caesarean.
One daughter born 9:32 am, natural
One daughter born 10:33pm(she's the odd-ball) She was induced about 2 or 3pm, though.
My mother was born 7:10am, wasn't Caesarean, so I'm assuming natural.
Current boyfriend was born 8:15am, natural I believe.
Last boyfriend was born 9:12 am, also natural, as far as I know.
