Re: Need some help new at this?
I can only tell you where I have been and that may not be so good.. I started with my own chart which I pulled together at Astro.com then found interpretations on various web sites then found books. I am told the older books are the better? To get into horary I found Anthony Louis book great Horary astrology plain and simple (I liked the title too)

Re: Need some help new at this?
When you go to astro.com go to new guest, and it will ask you to input your birth info...place, time (hopefully as close to the minute as you can get with out being there with a stop watch momth, year, day etc. It will automatically pull it up. Or you can get ahold of an emphermis and see what planets were where when you were born (day, year, month) but Asc and probably the moons degrees will need a little more work. Most books that you can pick up beyond just sun sign books will have information on this. HOpe this helps.....

Re: Need some help new at this?
A book is the next best step or start reading some web sites.Moonvalley astrology has soon good beginning tools that cover the basics and a little more and she has leads to other sites that might be helpful. Cafeastrology is another sitate that, once you get the basics it will mean more to you. I am sure there are others that are helpful but that is a cheap and quick way to get some idea of signs, houses, aspects and their meaning.

Re: Need some help new at this?
Hi MonkeyB, yes, I would indeed buy a book with basic teachings on how to read a chart. Learn about the planets, the houses and their meanings.
Very good books are all the books, but for you of course the very first one of Marion D. March and Joan McEvers called: "the only way to....learn about Astrology 1, 2 and 3. Later (much later on) you can go on with their books called "The only way to.....learn about tomorrow" when you will be ready for progressions and transits. They are fantastic books and I can highly recommend them to you.
If possible, follow a course. I did a 3 year course (correspondence) with the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London. Very strict but very good. And that was only to get your certificate. After that you can do another 1 or 2 years to get your Diploma.
Whatever you do, be prepared to the fact that it will take a long time before you can confidently interprete a chart. But dont give up, it is very rewarding when, in the end, you can do it!!
Much success on your astrological journey!
