Seeking to Understand My Past Through Astrological Means
As I have hinted at several times on these forums, last year was an extremely difficult time for me--a time abundant with upheavals of a such an intensity as I had never experienced before. Now that I have safely crossed these raging waters with most of my limbs intact, I wish to look back at my life and attempt to understand what happened from an astrological point of view.
How should I go about this venture? Figuratively speaking, the first domino was dropped around the beginning of September 2004, setting off a chain reaction which culminated around mid-January 2005 and into the beginning of February. Things didn't get much better until mid-summer, when another major crisis finally got me out of an unsuitable school environment of which I dare not speak...
I seek this community's aid in understanding, through astrological means, exactly what happened during this tumultuous time. Why was such a hellish experience necessary for personal growth?
Seeking answers,
Aquarian Maverick
P.S. It is now 1:11 PM as I edit this post...I know this means something

I'm sorry, C Jayne...I would've uploaded the chart myself if I hadn't just gotten home ops:

Here is the thumbnail for my natal chart combined with progressions and transits for an exact date I remember--February 5, 2005:

Saturn and Pluto
Maverick,
What I notice about the late 2004, early 2005 period is you had transiting (planets in the sky) Saturn (duty, also restriction, authority) moving into conjunction (energy is combined with) with your Descendant (others) while squaring (energy is combined with) your personal planets (Sun, Mercury, and Venus, in this case), indicating possiblity of issues with others...maybe with authority figures. This was also indicated in your Solar Return chart for 2004 with a T-square focused on Saturn conjunct your Midheaven (outer world).
The Solar Return chart for 2005 had T-square to Saturn in the 7th house (relationships) and Pluto (transformation, also power) conjunct Ascendant. The Saturn seems to be a continuation of the Saturn issues of the last Solar Return, except more personal (now more about the people around you). It is the Pluto energy of that year which would be most challenging...causing the typical Plutonic "death and rebirth" experience in which power seems to be stripped away and then, later, gradually returned, as you come out of the experience wiser and more powerful than before. In this case it has to do with personal power. This gaining of personal power is still going on (since we are still in your Solar Return 2005 year)...and I think your experiences on this site have shown you just how much personal power you have these days!
Powerfully and personal,
Tim

AM--
wilsontc brought up an interesting point -- I didn't check the Solar Return chart. funny that it has so much Pluto/ Scorpio energy.
In the summer of '04, your Progressed Sun moved into Taurus. I think that means self esteem became more of an issue for you than courage. (this will last for around 30 years.)
In Feb. '05, your Progressed Moon moved into Scorpio, later conjuncting Pluto. You were and are in a two-year-or-so period of "letting go" of things you're finished with, whether you want to be or not.
Currently, your Progressed Ascendnat has just moved into Pisces, so the world is an experience of deeper meaning that it was -- a place where you experiment, find healing, experience confusion, and seek out the unknown. This experience will last for around 30 years, although you will experience it differently as the years pass -- probably not so strongly after a few years.
You've had some transits in the past couple years, but I can't say how significant any are, except the Pluto and Scorpio ones, so let's start there.
Transiting Pluto entered your 11th house between Nov. '03 and Sept. '04, and that's where it remains, making the opinion and acceptance of others very important to you.
In September '04, transiting Jupiter entered your 8th (Scorpio) house, and so you began finding adventure (?) in the experience of loss -- something you were already having, with your Progressed Moon in Scorpio, and that Pluto/Solar return Ascendant stuff which Tim brought up.
Two other items:
Transiting Saturn opposed Natal Saturn in June '04. I'm not clear what this means.
Transiting Uranus conjuncted your North Node from March '04 till Jan. '05. Does that mean the direction your life is headed became shaken up somehow?
That's it from me. Maybe someone else can clarify some of this further. - C
