Will i need to get my continuing education credits?
Hi all
I'm a massage therapist and every couple of years we need to upgrade our education and get a certain amount of educational credits before they'll let us practice. My question is - will I need to do it again this year? Background info - I'm trying to quit massage and do writing full time. I had a great writing job which I lost in January unfortunately, which threw me back into massage. I have not found a new gig yet, nor do I have any prospects, but my hopes are high!! I'm asking this because our credits are due by Oct 1, and i should start getting on it soon. Although, maybe i'll get some great gig before then and won't need to! So, underneath the question of 'will I need to get my credits?' is the question of ' will I need to practice massage after oct 1 this year?'
http://www.astro.com/cgi/chart.cgi?r...Wz-u1215305672
The hard part is figuring out what houses to use. Education should be the 9th. My current career of massage is the 10th. The next job, or writing job (or whatever it may be) should be the 11th...or the 10th from the 10th? Not sure about that one.
I'm Mars in the 10th house of career, and about to conjunct Saturn. Saturn rules the 3rd and 4th of this chart, or maybe we could just use it as a malefic. My education is ruled by the Moon, and the Sun is right on the cusp of the 9th. The moon is applying to sextile Mercury in about 2 minutes. If the 9th is education, it is also the 12th from the 10th, or the end of the current career. Mercury rules the 11th, so it could rule the next gig, and the moon is sextiling it right away. This could mean that I will get a new gig almost immediately. The moon is also conjunct the Mc, or the current job. I take it that yes, I will need to get my credits, even if I do get a new gig. The new gig may not be enough to carry me financially.
anyone have any input??
thanks tons

Re: Will i need to get my continuing education credits?
Hello Barbh, I will have a look because I want to practice as much as possible! From what you wrote I would also say yes, but that is without having had a peek at the chart which I will do now. Just give me a minute
Cheers, Star.

Re: Will i need to get my continuing education credits?
Here I am again. OK, you are Mars, accidentally dignified in the 10th but for the rest not very strong. You get minus 5 points according to Lilly's system! so maybe you think you are standing stronger in your shoes than you really are when it comes to career. Ascendant is in the Via Combusta (which I usually take with a grain of salt). Mars will pretty soon conjunct Saturn. This could mean that your massage practice which is at home (I presume because Saturn rules the 4th) could undergo a bit of a slowdown in a while or it plainly shows that you actually would like to stop doing it. Both ruled by a strong Mercury in the not so wonderful 8th house, probably shows that you are financially dependent on other people through this career, or in plain language: you need this career to survive. Your finances are not so strong as seen by a fallen Jupiter and might also have become worse lately, seen by the retrograde motion.
That Mars is heading for Saturn could indeed show another gig coming up, but that Jupiter in the 3rd indeed shows that not enough money will be made through writing alone.
Personally I would not look at the 9th house for this sort of "update" education, but to the 3rd. It is after all not a university study, or is it? Or does any type of study fall under the 9th? Also some short course to freshen up your knowledge? I am not very sure of this. Let me quickly look to see what Frawley tells me. OK, he says nothing specifically other than that the 3rd is elementary study and the 9th higher studies. So lets take the 9th.
It is ruled by the Moon who will make a sextile to Mercury and an opposition to Neptune (a valid aspect because Neptune is conjuncting within 5° an Angle and is therefore quite prominent.)
Moon is actually already to be taken into the 10th house, showing indeed that you do need to do these extra exams to refresh your knowledge and learn maybe more massage techniques. What could the opposition to Neptune mean? Maybe that you are a bit desillusioned by the fact that you will have to do this instead of using more your creative ability? Neptune rules the 5th. Or that the extra study is not teaching you that much more than you already know and you feel a bit disappointed by it?.
Moon makes an immediate conj. with Mars (allowed outside its sign when within 12° orb) and tells me that yes, you have to study on. You have to do that before you can even think of writing (Mars blocks Moon from conjuncting Saturn). Also ruler of 10, current career, is counted as being in the 9th already, also pointing towards study. Mars will sextile Sun, but is hampered by Saturn. There might be some delay or what? Any idea? Maybe you dont want to do that upgrade?
Moon and Sun are in MR twice over, so you really have to go on studying and I do think that you will have to go on with massage in October.
Because Saturn and Mercury are in several MReceptions with one another, I believe that the writing business could bring you some extra income.
Mercury also rules your 11th dont forget, so I think that your wishes about writing could be fulfilled.
Oh yes, the Sun is conjunct the star SIRIUS which gives honor and success in business and occupation.
Cheers, Starlink

Re: Will i need to get my continuing education credits?
Thanks Star!
I'm wondering about that 9th vs 3rd house as well, and I think you may be right about using the 3rd house. I looked it up in Munkasey's Astrological Thesaurus and he says school classes are 3rd, correspondent communication is 3rd (I would be taking correspondence courses to do this, as well as some work by video, again by mail), and he says higher education is 9th, but educational advancement is 3rd. I think we may need to use the 3rd.
If so, then Saturn rules the 3rd, and look, Jupiter is right on the cusp, retrograde. That could be me going back and having to do this again.....(you're right - the last thing I want to do is put out all this money for refresher courses when I want to ditch the profession altogether!)
If Saturn is the courses, then Mars, me, is about to come right up and conjunct him! Yep - that's a pretty strong yes isn't it.
The moon's next aspect is to mercury in the 8th - that could be the financial detriment of it all. It costs a lot to do this. Debt perhaps. but Mercury is also the next gig, so the income from that may not be as much as i need to stay afloat...as you had mentioned. And the Sun, massage career, is about to oppose that Jupiter in the 3rd, and Jup rules my income house. It looks like a go, and it will cost me.
i like the part of fortune in the 2nd house though at 23 Sag
Immigrants entering a new country. 'this is a time of possibility and hope for better things and a new way of life. You may find that you are prepared to venture into new territory for the promise it offers. Reoriention of selfhood.'
Most excellent! Something good is coming. The new gig is mercury, and the moon hits it immediately.!
Thanks for looking Star. It's amazing what one can find when there's two heads instead of one.
looks like i'll be ordering my courses now!!!
thanks

Re: Will i need to get my continuing education credits?
Hi Barbh, yes indeed, 4 eyes see more than 2!! I like that Sabian Symbol you got and I really believe in it. Even last night when I wanted to know if the Spaniard Rafael Nadal would win Wimbledon against Roger Federer, I cast a chart which showed to me a YES, but with great difficulty, but then I also did the Sabian Symbol for Nadal .Get this one, Virgo 3: Two Guardian angels bringing protection. This is a beautiful symbol that brings to mind images of salvation, release and protection. Being saved in the nick of time! (absolutely exactly what happened!!)
So I just knew he would win and indeed, it depended on the very last hit! If Federe had done it right , he would have won (again), but Nadal did. What a triumph! For the other one I got Cancer 22, A Young Woman awaiting a Sailboat and what struck me was: There is a warning not to become dependent on an unreliable outcome. He probably did rely on the fact that he would yet again, win. "Longing for that which may never come" was another warning.
So I really believe in these Symbols. I never before got such a correct answer.
Back to house 3 for you this time indeed shows it all. Ruler in the 10th = studie to advance career and dispositor of Saturn being Mercury in 8= costing money.
Cheers, Starlink
