Pluto on the 1st House
I heard that Pluto is a strong dark planet, i'm wondering, is Pluto on the 1st House bad? i have this on my natal birth chart and i'm a scorpio rising, i also have the Moon conjuncting Pluto at 17 degrees on my 1st house too.

Re: Pluto on the 1st House
Hello Bradderz,
The combination you describe has the potential to make you suspicious of other people - their motivations, their attitudes and their energy. It also has the potential to make you very intuitive and possibly even a psychic healer!
You may find yourself a target of possessiveness and jealousy and you may sometimes be jealous or possessive yourself. With Scorpio rising your imagination can invent things that are simply not real. I had one male Client who had a very nice girlfriend but ruined the relationship because he was constantly accusing her of sleeping around with half of the men in town. So if you give in to your fears, you will begin to imagine and suspect some pretty awful things about your associates.
It has also been my experience that Pluto in the first house often results in people you meet either strongly attracted to you or absolutely hating you, with not much in between. Pluto is very magnetic and it is important to avoid the old 1, 2 and 3 - control, power and manipulation. Keep your lower Chakra's free flowing and unblocked and learn to trust your gut feelings and the gut feelings of those close to you.
All The Best,
Derestanne.

Re: Pluto on the 1st House
Interesting, I have scorpio rising, both mars and venus in the 8th house, moon trine pluto. "With Scorpio rising your imagination can invent things that are simply not real" I do that alot. I am desperatly trying to curb this tendancy.
I obsesse too about almost everything.

Re: Pluto on the 1st House
You really need to post your chart. How that Pluto acts also depends on what else is going on in the chart.

It is sort of best placement of Pluto in chart - Robust magnetic personality, strong will power and health awareness. In addition to that it confers problem solving capability.

My Pluto is conjunct my Moon in Scorpio in the first house, but my Ascendant is Libra. Nevertheless I find that, while everybody finds me charming on the surface, people DO react very intensely to me. When they react intensely negatively to me, it can come as a huge surprise to me (given how "nice" I think I've been to everybody, with my Libra Asc).
@Bradderz777: I agree with bittermoon, you really do need to post the chart. You cannot adequately analyze one part of your chart in isolation.

I've got Pluto conjunct my Ascendant with Uranus also in the 1st House.
For me it's continuous unexpected transformation depending on which houses Pluto and Uranus are currently transiting.

I have Pluto in the 1st house opposite the Sun. A pretty daunting placement if you ask me.

Re: Pluto on the 1st House
I have a first house Pluto in Scorpio, it goes up and down for me. And yea, it's a dark planet that painfully leads you to the truth and foes through you most inner fears that we cling to blindly as some form of security.
For me it was like being on top for awhile them slowly it was a descent to my own inner hell that I unconsiously created. You have to change your whole self, you have to fully transform and shed all old tidings of the former self that we create as an image or for protection against imagined harms. We trap ourselves and sabotage oursElves with superficial Things that we eventually lose because it is beyond our control. We try to hold to what we can't control out of fear and lose sight of what we can control because we are blind and scared. So we are hidden from the true us that burst thru in intense efforts to become aware. Fear of letting go because of how we may seem to others.
Pluto can take all these false securities from us to show us true security and true independence and give us will power and a devout and stern sense of self that we may throw away unconsciously. In the house, we neglect ourself and our needs and burn bridges because of our subconscious need to have some dark and deep need fulfilled. But we only find it when we go to our personal hell and accept the ugliness in ourselves and come out reformed, corrected and transformed into a new person who has taken all that was dormant and used it to conquer all that seemed fearful and restore our sense of self.
Just my experience

Re: Pluto on the 1st House
My mom had Pluto in the first and she was always trying to find out ur secrets.
Pluto rules detectives I think.
I hated it because she was always trying to eaves drop & go through all my stuff.
I think Pluto in the 1st can be a good thing, it's all how you use your awesome power.

Re: Pluto on the 1st House
Yes, Scorpio is awesome but it's how evolved you are. It can be the scorpion (sex, death, revenge), the eagle (detective, investigator, piercing vision) or the phoenix (spiritual, regenerative, enlightened). Strive for the phoenix. There's no grey area with Scorpio, I have it rising.

Re: Pluto on the 1st House
all I can say is Pluto on the Ascendant (in Libra) is a pain in the butt! I "know" people and am extremely outgoing etc...but there are times (most than not) when I tend to inadvertantly stir up other people's lives/perceptions with my mere presence...not to sound egotistical, but seriously...it's made me more of a hermit these days and with an Aquarius Moon this is not favorable for me to become so "hidden"....does this make sense to anyone?

Remember planets are modified by signs, where they express are houses and how they express are *aspects*
Pluto in 1st House – angular
· Tends to be a loner and hold innermost self aloof from those around. Penetrating gaze. Person power and will is indicated. Much more below the surface than is shown above. Very private person – holds secret
· Tunnel vision when concentrating will always finish things.
· Usually deep penetrating eyes. Intensity comes over ‑ even when being silent
· A marvelous sense of purpose is generally present, and must be expressed and fulfilled otherwise an inner seething and sense of dissatisfaction may be the result
· If Pluto is afflicted and could cause deep‑rooted psychological problems that can emerge as physical ailments.
· The nearer Pluto lies to the Ascending degree, the stronger its influence will be. The planet's influence will darken the personality, adding an incisive and deep, emotionally intense quality.

I hope things get better at your home. I m also not a religious person which is a big problem if you live in a country with 97% population consisting of Muslims. Luckily I have a Libra sun.

your keen occult interest is not pluto, it's your planets in 8th house, although pluto has a link to 8th house, it's IN your house of presentation and outward expression, therefore visible, like a shop window....
Houses: angular houses 1/7 4/10 the energies of planets placed here are obvious cos it's your 'shop window' visible for everyone to see. Next the succeedent houses 2/8 & 5/11 the energies in these houses are not in shop window the are in the shop, but stood behind the counter, ready to come out when needed. Lastly, cadent houses 6/12 & 3/9 these houses/planets are not in shop window or stood behind the counter, they are in the back storeroom and only come out when 'triggered' or an emergency and much harder to recognise and access...
The houses are like the backdrop of a stage, the setting if you like, the planets are like actors and the aspects are how the planets behave in that settings/stage....
the key to your chart (as I'm sure you are aware) are the YODS, lack of fire planets or planets in fire houses...
Pluto square MC
Pluto in Square, Quincunx, Opposition to Midheaven
“Don't be surprised if you have your share of power struggles with authority figures. This aspect suggests domination and control. You can rise to a position of important influence over the lives of others. All efforts to climb to the top should be kept completely honest and aboveboard.
Consider some of the following career potentials: archaeology, espionage, psychiatry, mortuary science, the secret service, banking, or the medical profession--especially surgery.”
http://www.skyviewzone.com/astrology/aspectspluto.htm
Plutosquare MC for a long time I was not even 'aware' how this functioned or played out, until I was out with a friend, who ended up defending me from a verbal attack from a woman. It seems with pluto we/you give out scorpio/pluto vibes of authority, power and control and possibly on a subconscious level, *others* espec women pick up on this and feel it's 'fair game' to challenge and attack. It doesn't happen all the time, just occasionally. Plus mine is in 7th Angular/most visible and house of open enemies, which really don't mind coming up in my face either...

Re: Pluto on the 1st House
Hi astrologer50
Thankyou very much for your reply, it was interesting to read on your personal experiences.
I agree with what you say on the planets being in my 8th house, I do have keen interests in them subjects, but I noticed I have Mercury in Gemini (Retrograde) and I suffer with learning disabilities, no visual, such things like Dyslexia, Attention Deforcit Dishorder and Dyspraxia, I feel my natal Mercury Rx is involved with this....
I'd just like to tell you some breif past experiences of mine that haven't been good for me at all!!
For starters, this year has not been so good for me, just over a month ago or so, my mum was diognosed with Breast Cancer, and she had lots of operations and she is still very weak and under recovery, but they think the cancer may have spread so they want her to start a course of chemotherapy soon, it's been very emotional and stressful for me, but obviously especially for her and the rest of my family.
Most of last year, I was badly manipulated by a girl who I really cared for as a friend and who I fell in love with, untill she dumped me at the end of Oct 2010, it was a really bad time for me, I was all over the place, as I really cared for her and knowing that I wouldn't see her again it's a very long story I'd be typing forever if I were to explain what happened, but now since the effects of that, i can't trust other women if they come into my life because I fear that they might do the same thing...
However, all of last year up to present, I've had Transit Neptune Square Natal Sun!!!
Although as soon as she dumped me, I noticed that Transit Saturn entered my 12th house and it's been there ever since, and also people don't bother with me much as they used to either they are busy or whatever, so i'm spending most of my time by myself - i reckon this relates to T Saturn through the 12th...
But Overall, I just really don't know where my life is going, though I've just started University to study computing but I still feel `alone' out there, sorry if i'm being all 'self pity' but I just wanted to get my words across...

saturn going through 12th the most cadent/hidden is quite good unless or until it makes an aspect to somthing within your chart or angle. Saturn going through your 11th will have 'weeded out' casual acquaintences and so called friends, as saturn was testing what was of value to you. Also your hopes and wishes may have become more realistic, practical.
thats's a difficult (and generational) stellium in capircorn in 3rd house. If I have mentioned this before please excuse me.
Saturn conj Neptune
http://astrologyforthesoul.com/billstreett/satnepgestalt.html
http://astrology.astrozoom.com/index.php?title=NEPTUNE_CONJUNCTION_OR_PARALLEL_TO _SATURN
Saturn conj neptune can show a fear of the unknown ..although these are generational planets, posited in bottom left quadrant makes them felt internally...It can also be linked to depression when triggered and/or having your childhood dreams crushed by father, males and/or authority figures.
I notice t Pluto is now conj Uranus, therefore also quincunxing venus at same time. did you understand why your relationship broke down?
when T saturn squared natal neptune, this may well have cause your aspirations, dreams and fantasies(neptune) to be crushed by huge dose of realtiy (saturn). Now at same time T saturn will have squared natal mars, this may have caused stop/go situations, delays frustrations of actions (mars)?
Have you found you needed more sleep with T neptune square sun? also loss of direction will be T neptune conj N Node I think..

Hello .
Your period of good luck has nearly started and will remain throughout next year.
However I feel that you may not see eye to eye with your elders.
Any ways you are quite young, and I think that you will nearly always find your partners lacking, or finding partners difficult. Your ascendant being scorpio also does not help in this scene.
According to new astrology, pluto rules scorpio (but I will stick to mars), so in fact with pluto in your first house in its own house will negate it's bad effects too.
But actually your mars is in cancer and moon which rules cancer is in scorpio.
I would suggest you to work on this for more success.
I can also see that you are lucky in the way that people usually do help you out usually whenever you need help be it in material form or otherwise.
Oh and keep a look out for a "cancerian girl", she will be the one for you.

Thank you Very much for that reply Sethi!
And Astrologer50, thank you very much for your reply also, for reading my chart, it all makes sense to me.
I have always wondered all my life that was I a bad person in my past life? Did I do bad things to people? I've heard that Pluto has a lot to do with past life Karma, along with Saturn.
I am very emotional in general, not a very brave person, this year has been terrible for me, earlier in the year, in August, my mother was diognosed with breast Cancer, I noticed at the time, I had transiting Mars conjunct my Natal Mars in Cancer, and squaring Transit Saturn in the 12th - when this happend, she got an operation to have her breast removed, and she nearly died in the operation, she lost an awful amout of blood in the operation as she has Anaemia.
Mercury was also Retrograde in Virgo at the same time, and they done the operation wrong!!! She got infections and had to keep going in for more operations over time, which made her ill for months, she is alot better now though thankfully, and she might be possibly be going back to work in February, which she wants to do.
Oh, Sethi, When you mentioned to me that I should look for a Cancerian girl, perhaps Jupiter transiting through my 7th house may help me with that????
I just hope that next year will be a much better year for me, this year has been soo chewy!
Happy Xmas Guys!!
