Good afternoon, I would like advice. My natal chart looks like a train wreck, and there's a big ol' YOD right in the middle of it. Any thoughts? :?:

You're best off providing your chart or giving the data. Then we can put it into perspective and know exactly what the deal is with this Yod.

okay, bear with me, i'm just learning.... the yod points to jupiter in 6th house.
one of the short ends is mercury in 1st house, and the other is saturn in 12th house. and i'm a capricorn. you know, real serious type.

This is a common problem with Astrodienst for some reason...it doesn't always show all the aspects. I think there IS a quincunx from Mercury to Jupiter, which makes this look like a yod...but there is ALSO an opposition to Mars. This means that this "yod" is actually a Boomerang (a yod with an opposition). The Boomerang REfocuses the energy to the point opposite the Yod. So your energy is focused on Pisces (spirituality, also confusion) modifying Mars (being, also action) focused in the 12th house (spirituality, also confusion).

The challenge of having Mars in a "confusing" house is Mars likes to DO, but when it is focused on spirituality the question comes up..."WHAT should I do?" This may make it difficult for the person to take actions in their life. However, in your case, there are many challenges (red lines) which tend to FORCE the person to take action. While this may feel like a "train wreck" at times, that is only an indication that events in your life are motivating you to take action...very useful when you yourself may be uncertain of exactly what actions to take on your own.

Can't say that I've ever felt confusion. Indecisiveness, yes. Inertia, yes. How do you go forward with confidence without relying upon difficulty or challenges to be the motivator? Is there a positive inspiration for the action present? I have the trait of action but I'd prefer it to be driven by a positive goal than by difficulty.
Does this chart imply any gifts to balance the tensions/oppositions?

Interesting that Tim pointed out a boomerang. I looked up the Sabian degree for Jupiter in your chart anne and got this:

What's also interesting here is that you have a wide orb t-square attached to the Mars/Jupiter opposition with Neptune in Scorpio at the Apex in the 8th house. Neptune is at 25 Scorpio 59. The malific fixed star Algol is opposing your Neptune to form a Grand cross. Algol is located at 25 Taurus 43 on the day you were born. Algol would be in the 3rd house. The Sabian degree for your Neptune position is 26 Scorpio which reads:

wow, thank you. if i read your post correctly, i'm pleased to see that i've been acting from the positive very consistently. have acted from the negative only when in the most dire circumstances. that's great.
can you explain what sabian is?
will look up more about Algol as you suggested. hard to imagine a star being malific.

For nearly all my life, I honestly felt like there was SOMETHING in the universe that was trying to kill me off. The misfortunes were unrelenting.
There's been relief in the last two years, though, and I hope the beastly thing leaves me alone!
And yes, I'm convinced that a star can be malific now. But I don't want to be murdered or electrocuted. The latter is possible though because I work in the shipbuilding industry.

Anne - I didn't mean to scare you!!

Your Neptune is in opposition as are a tremendous amount of other people who were born around the same period of time as Neptune is so slow moving. The conjunction seems to be the more precarious aspect which I have with my South Node and Part of Fortune. You can see how this affected me in the other thread here in this topic.

I pointed it out to you for awareness purposes. I would look out for drug abuse or any type of escapist tendancies as Neptune rules this area. Self-destructive behavior could be related to this position I think but you have modifiers with sextiles your Sun and Pluto. PLEASE relax!

As far as Sabian degrees, they were given to a pshychic in the 1920s as a way to understand the inner meaning of all the degrees of the zodiac. The degrees are rounded up (although some debate this) and I've been working with them experimentally to get a better insight into aspects of charts.
