What indicates fortune later in life?

I have been "blessed" with neptune in the 8th... Meaning bad economy! This has been true for parts of my life, and especially as Ive been a student for many years and havent been able to invest in any home yet. Is it possible to have a good economy later with this terrible house placement? Or am I doomed to spend my money on the wrong things and be unlucky?

Any other aspects, placements to help with this question? Any experiences with Neptune in th 8th anyone???

The oldest astrological works we have (first few centuries AD), excluding Ptolemy, indicate that the quadrant from the 4th house to the beginning of the 1st (ie, places 4, 3 and 2 on the natal chart) indicate conditions of late life; an examination of the signs in these houses, and planets in them, often works well in seeing the likely trends of "old age". For later astrologers (Islamic era and European Middle Ages) the third triplicity ruler of the sign on the 4th house gave indications for late life: the planet involved (ie, planetary ruler of the third sign in the triplicity), the sign its is in and its place position, plus aspects to it, making up the elements of this assessment.

My personal experience is with Neptune in the 2nd natal house; let me say that the indications generally attributed to Neptune in the 2nd, have proven correct so far in my life...

Neptune in the 8th house represents the money of others you are associated with, or inheritance or insurance payments. Difficulties arise if Neptune is subject to harsh or weak aspects or malefic receivers: forget any legacies, insurance companies will deny claims, your partners will be of no financial help, etc. Otherwise it may just be inactive in the 8th. However, Neptune here in good condition can be very helpful financially.

Saturn in particular is the planet that rules fortune late in life if it is in or rules the 7th or 4th house. It should be in good condition to indicate good fortune. Also the third triplicity rulers of the first, 2nd and 4th should be examined. These will show the condition of the native and fortune in the final third of life.

I think my Neptune is "moderately" bad aspected by Moon, square. My mum never gave me or my siblings a dime, and probably never will....Maybe this is what it means?

Venus is also square neptune, but wide aspect and all Moon, Venus, Neptune are in earth signs. They are not malefics at least....Mercury and Pluto sextile Neptune.

My Saturn is well aspected by a sextile from both Moon and Venus, and wide orb from Mars. Saturn is also conjunct the 7th house by 7 degrees orb or something.

I once had a partner that had a negative influence on my economy, but the present one has a very positive effect on it. I have become much more careful with money and dont overspend as much as I did before on nonsense.

Heres my chart. Im born far north in the evening, so my chart became a bit uneven with placidius.

Triplicity rulers of the first (gemini) is it Jupiter? Moon for 2nd cancer? And Mars for virgo 4th? Not so familiar with them....

Your neptune is in 7th conj 8th cusp (Equal)

Firstly, for a proper evaluation you should consider posting your chart with progressions and transits on same wheel found in extended chart selection. Reduce the ratio of orbs to 80%, select smallest image size 63% on picture, then choose house system (my personal preference is for Equal house rather than the default of placidus), right mouse click and select 'save target pic as' and save to hard drive then upload here
http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24043
http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24042

the above threads are 'how to' get, select and post the correct charts.

Have you researched your uranus as singleton planet ie: only planet in fire element?
With ruler of 2nd cancer/moon placed in 4th conj mars and venus you could earn money from home, with moon conj 5th and sun in 5th does show some creativity or artistic ability.

Neptune is challenged by square to moon and venus, suggesting romantic illusions and rose tinted glasses and emotional disillusionment. Deception concerning joint finances -- so please never get a joint bank account

Chart ruler mercury conj pluto in 6th house shows good analytical, research ability and poss interest in health and daily routines. Saturn here well aspected shows an area where you may lack confidence

Houses: angular houses 1/7 4/10 the energies of planets placed here are obvious cos it's your 'shop window' visible for everyone to see. Next the succeedent houses 2/8 & 5/11 the energies in these houses are not in shop window the are in the shop, but stood behind the counter, ready to come out when needed. Lastly, cadent houses 6/12 & 3/9 these houses/planets are not in shop window or stood behind the counter, they are in the back storeroom and only come out when 'triggered' or an emergency and much harder to recognise and access...

The houses are like the backdrop of a stage, the setting if you like, the planets are like actors and the aspects are how the planets behave in that settings/stage....So remember you may find it harder to identify with planets and Saturn in this case in Cadent houses….

"Saturn’s" influence seems to be more obvious in the houses than in the signs ‑ can rule the life with an iron rod, although invisible, by undermining the sense of self‑worth and making it difficult for the individual to permit any close emotional contacts.

Saturn's sign indicates what you find uncomfortable and must learn to manage.

Where and how you feel a lack of confidence -- the house position of Saturn defines where you need to establish your skills, an issue you worry about and wish you could depend on !

Saturn in the 6th house
· Have to work for what is received. Difficulties with employees and in working conditions due to a separateness and a demanding-ness. Hard worker but shouldn't expect everyone else to have the same attitude about the job.
· A tendency to worry and fret can cause health problems even stomach ulcers. They may worry unduly about their health.
· Can be a little bit nit picking and be irritated far to easily.
· Makes for cautiousness and practicality. Work is not as important as attitude toward it.
· Security may be found in hard work.
· These people have high expectations and meet challenges, delays and difficulties at work.
· Efforts are rewarded by slow advancement.
· Probably work alone and behind the scenes. Won't moan about work just get on with it.
· You will gain confidence by your untiring efforts for perfection, and will gain much respect from co‑workers.

You could also select in Extended chart selection POF Part of fortune.

“However, in the case of both significations one must keep in mind that no one indication in the chart, not even the Part of Fortune, can be taken by itself as a total indicator of any area of life. For health one must also look at the Ascendant, its ruler, the Moon and its ruler. Also the sixth and eighth houses as indicators of illness and death respectively have strong indications for health. For material prosperity one should also look at the second house, the tenth house, and their rulers.”
http://www.astro.com/astrology/in_fortune_e.htm

“The fortune indicated by this part is not necessarily materialistic or even tangible, though it can be. It depends on the sign and house location of the Part of Fortune. The benefit can be on the physical, intellectual, emotional, and/or spiritual plane of experience. In all cases it is through the cultivation and expression of this point that one will experience harmony and a sense of well-being.”

“The Part of Fortune represents worldly success, and is associated with the physical body and health as well. It can be indicative of the career or vocation. Worldly success and prosperity are associated with the Part of Fortune, and both its sign and house placement suggests innate abilities and talents--areas of life and qualities that are expressed naturally.”

My MC is ruled by Saturn, and Im glad for it. Or else I probably wouldnt have a stable carreer choice as I think I have now. But it took some time before I realized that I wanted to study medicine, and didnt think I had what it took before. I was delayed 3 years before starting med. school. But its not too long I guess....

I think I read something on cafe astrology that was quite interesting:
http://www.cafeastrology.com/astrologytopics/astrology_of_money_wealth.html

It says that saturn is indicative....

"In many charts of the wealthy or well-off, Saturn is associated with the second and/or eighth house. The aspect can be challenging (conjunct or square seem to be "better" aspects than the opposition), although it is generally found in addition to more favorable aspects involving such planets as Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune. Saturn adds ambition and realism, as well as sobriety to the picture. Saturn as a money significator gives motivation to hold onto money and to strive to make more money."

So maybe saturn helps me with my Neptune on the 8th cusp??
Neptune is in capricorn, ruled by saturn, which also rules the 8th if neptune is not quite there?

I dont ever gamble with money like some others I know do, especially guys! I believe in hard work for it, or else I guess I would never study as long as I am doing right now.

I have read about my uranus singleton, makes me feel a little like a freak and crazy person:D But interesting, Im not sure that Im THAT original. Ive noticed that I attract many people especially partners with their sun conjunct my Uranus and/or many planets in sagi.

I think my part of fortune is in Taurus....in 12th... not sure, got to check!

Thanx again for your long and informative post Astrologer50:)

Part of fortune is actually 12 degrees Taurus, conj. NN. in the 12th house. I read somewhere that it is good for the health proffession and for healing and meditation. It sounds a little familiar some of if, excpept for being a prodigy though:D

Part of fortune and NN are ruled by venus in virgo then I guess? Which is so and so by placement and aspect...

instead of focusing on the 8th house (other people's money) focus on 2nd houes ruled by cancer/moon - how you earn your money. As mentioned earlier, moon in 4th suggests working from home, or focus on 6th house matters like health industries, virgoan traits like 'details, details and more details'
So maybe saturn helps me with my Neptune on the 8th cusp??

Really you need to spend a bit more time on rectification here as I notice you put 6.30pm and practically no one is born on the o'clock, half past and quarters. that may give you more indication of neptune's placement.

Yeah, Im guessing the midwife maybe missed a few minutes or something....Kannon doesnt think I look much like Gemini rising, maybe more like Aries. But it can only either be Gemini or Taurus, as I have 2,53 degrees Gem. rising with 6.30 PM. I have some photos somewhere on the forum.

What is the best way to rectify the chart? I never understood it quite...

If the midwife missed by 5 minutes it would either be 0 degrees gemini or 5 degrees gem. The same midwife put 10 or 5 minutes past for one of my brothers.

I cant imagine finding any medical work for working at home. Or going to sick peoples houses? Im actually thinking about becoming a gynechologist, but we ll see about that:)

So its the 11th house which says something about your money earnt through carreer right?

11th cusp Aries, Mars in Virgo, maybe not so well placed in virgo? But trine MC...

I have saturn in the 8th and capricorn on the cusp of the 2nd with sun, mercury, and venus there. I'm terrible with money, though :( I sure hope it gets better as I get older. :joyful:

While its natal position by House and Sign, and its Dispositor, Triplicity and Term Ruler are important, it would be more helpful to direct the Part of Fortune.

You said the Part of Fortune is 12° Taurus, if you direct it 60 years into the future it would be at 12° Cancer (12° + 60° = 72° = 12° Cancer). Look to see if the Part of Fortune at 12° Cancer makes any partile aspects to natal Planets, and if not, then look at the Term of the Part of Fortune at 12° Cancer. Then look to see if there are any platic aspects. Perhaps at 12° Cancer the PoF is in a platic trine with a Planet at 17° Scorpio or 17° Cancer. That means the trine would perfect at about age 65 or so and you can interpret what the trine promises.

In addition to Mr Zemco's excellent (as usual) advice regarding the Part of Fortune and its direction, you could also profect it at the rate of 1 sign per year of life, to see which years of your life will bring it's auspicious influences into prominence. Also simple symbolic progression (advancing 1 degree for every year of life) will bring your POF into the 2nd (whole sign) house (finances) beginning with your 49th year of life. Depending, of course, upon other influences, everything being equal this seems to be a fortunate influence at least relative to finances for the period between 49 and 78 years of age (again, though, other astrological elements could alter this very significantly)
PS: the 3rd night lord of the triplicity on your 4th house (under Virgo) is a double lordship (the only such double lordship mentioned by Dorotheus of Sidon): Mars and Mercury.

Ah, ok:)

Then now my part of fortune is trine jupiter I guess. And about when I started my med. studies it was more or less conjunct the AC.

I felt that Im a bit better with money this year especially as I worked more and spent less! I think my boyfriend has been a good influence on this and on my carreer I feel. His natal venus is conjunct my Jupiter, with a T- cross involving his pluto and moon. And his Jupiter closely conjunct my MC. Alot of Jupiter connections I feel.

Strangely enough his IC is exaclty conjunct my natal part of fortune and NN.

POFonly works with an accurate 'time' as it uses the Asc degree.
