As the world continues to suffer from the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s we are now witnessing what will either become a miracle comeback, and or very deep dive into a Second Great Depression in the decade of the 2010s. Much will depend not only the leaders of nations, but on the ability of populations of the world to evolve along with the world transits as we enter the second decade of the 21st century.

The economic crisis has become global, with far-reaching and dire consequences for many nations suffering under the weight of stinging job losses, foreclosures, shuttered banking institutions, and failed financial firms. In some nations, the entire economies have contracted leading to massive levels of layoffs and stifled wages for those still employed. The frozen credit markets have led to businesses of all sizes going bankrupt, university students unable to obtain school loans, and automakers unable to sell cars because customers cannot get auto loans. Companies that depended on lines of credit from their servicing banks to meet payrolls are failing and filing for bankruptcy.

To understand how the asset bubble of leveraging grew, expanded, and led to the global recession, and where all the money went, see this interactive graphic and explanation:

It is no mistake that the current Saturn/Uranus opposition now in effect has already helped to produce the first African-America progressive president of the United States. The first exact opposition of Saturn in tropical Virgo opposed to Uranus in Pisces came on November 4, 2008, the day Barack Obama was elected the 44th president of the United States. Strong oppositions of outer planets like Saturn and Uranus often help to produce such historic events, and these two planets will continue to do so in 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Saturn/Uranus oppositions also influence mass protests, hue-and-cries, uprisings, and strikes. Uranus is particularly active in mundane astrology when it comes to general strikes. I expect to see much more of this throughout the world in the years ahead as the Saturn/Uranus opposition strengthens in 2009, 2010 and into 2011 and these planets aspect with Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto over the coming years.

The Saturn/Uranus opposition & Pluto in tropical Capricorn has brought people around the world out into the streets in several countries, particularly in Europe, where tensions against institutions & governments are building, tempers short, and where common people exhibit seething anger at who they blame for the global economic crisis ~

In England, there are warning signs, reports one observer about the strong possibility of general strikes coming in the United Kingdom ~
See ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTmD0JZsN8k&NR=1

This astrological forecast is also a warning for those who take the seething anger of the common people for granted. The world transits now and those just ahead, will produce 10 times the amount of people on the streets protesting, and will lead to worldwide strikes should the leaders and financiers not come clean about the truths behind the global economic crisis.

The economic fallout is also leading to deadly events now coming to surface in the wake of 2008’s global economic crisis. Reports of individuals and families in crisis have begun to be reported in the mainstream media in early 2009. According to a January 30, 2009 Global & Mail newspaper headline, “When A Family’s Despair Turns Deadly,” accounts of a tide of bankruptcies, job losses and foreclosures see some people and families resorting to murder-suicide.

See ~ http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20090130.weconocide30/BNStory/International/

Reports are also coming in of rising mental illness and maladaptive behavior. See ~
http://www.alternet.org/workplace/1...g_hordes_of_americans_to_suicide/?page=entire

There will be massive protests of working people, organizations, and unions challenging the banks, and government institutions of their respective nations as a result of the economic crisis. Any leader who understands the anger of the populace should take note to act in a positive fashion quickly before the weather turns warmer into the spring, summer and autumn months of 2009, or they will face the consequences of very angry countrymen and women ~ especially throughout Europe and the United States.

The global transits indicate several revolutions coming in the decade of the 2010s should the common people not receive substantial aid, and fail to see those responsible for the economic meltdown not brought to justice. The ramifications for not doing the will of the people, for many nations, will be revolution according to the coming global transits of the near future. We are already witnessing the beginning of very large worldwide movements who will not only demand change, but, in the near future will take change into their own hands, leading to the fall of several governments and many institutions as a direct result.

GLOBAL OUTLOOK
For those with little knowledge of mundane astrology, or astrology in general, see this primer video link. It is 7 minutes and 43 seconds in length, and gives a basic introduction into astrological cycles, see ~

Considering the wealth of bad news, I will begin in my mundane forecast with positive news.

In 2009, there are opportunities for making constructive progress. There are several world transits that do provide opportunities for people to navigate the year ahead successfully.

One of these opportunities is signaled by the Venus phase shift from “evening” to “morning” star in late March 2009. Venus’ transits can be applied in mundane astrology to forecast successful business transactions, career changes, relocations, etc., and has much to do with the climate conditions, both of inner and outer “weather” as applied in scientific astrology and advanced forecasting. The transit of Venus in 2009 as the Lesser Benefic (Jupiter is the Greater Benefic) indicates a much-welcome phase shift after the turbulence of late 2007 and 2008.

WORLD FORECAST YEARS: 2009-2018
As a mundane astrologer I cannot say that the years ahead will be easy. They will not. The mainstream media has not fully revealed the true extent of the economic damage to many nations, nor the true total amount of the unemployment, nor, the real reasons behind the economic collapse. However, world transits clearly do, and also show that sunshine will be shed on how it all happened. By that time though, it may be too late.

According to the coming transits, the world has entered the transition decade of the 2010s. This transition is leading away from the models of the late 20th century, and to the newer world and realities of the early 21st century.

The Saturn-Uranus opposition from 2009 to 2011 is not always favorable when working with joint monies, insurance, and corporate finances. Due to the prior Saturn-Neptune opposition of 2006-07, there has been massive corruption in worldwide money markets. Much of this effect is seen in mortgage-backed securities throughout the world and investment bankers who played large roles in this corruption will be held to account in 2009 through 2017.

The Saturn-Uranus opposition also shows that many plans of people involving business, professional and political matters will be very strange, eccentric and very impractical with many unexpected events disrupting normal business and economic desires. There will be strong reversals of favor and fortune should ulterior motives be used towards personal gain alone. Mass protests, general strikes, and large hostile crowds are all common with this opposition configuration.

Some of the influences of a Saturn/Uranus opposition is the effect on people:

- Unreliable individuals & groups
- Inconsistent attitudes
- Lawsuits, financial hardships
- Conflicts between old & new among friends & group associations
- Frustrations in attempts to change conditions
- Ulterior motives, dishonest people, cheating to get ahead
- Estrangement from former colleagues & friends
- Sudden reversals of fortune
- Rebellion, disassociation from former companies
- Open enemies
- Selfish people

Being selfish and thinking only of oneself is not a good strategy with this Saturn-Uranus opposition, and the other outer planet aspects at the start of the 2010s. It can lead to burning one's bridges behind oneself. These bridges and contacts will be needed to survive into the decade of the 2010s.

The solution is simple and interdisciplinary. By realizing what is happening with world transits concerning Saturn and Uranus along the Virgo/Pisces axis, one can avoid frontal confrontation by learning to adapt and to seek unity, while avoid polarizing projections. By using the energies of Saturn to maintain a sense of stability, but also being open to the possibilities of new and exciting changes, and accepting the new ways of doing things via cooperation, one can neutralize the Saturn-Uranus effectively. Cooperation, peace, and awareness ~ working with people on a team with a like mind and a win/win situation, and through sharing of resources ~ can neutralize these hard aspects; especially those of Saturn and Uranus.

However, the global transition will not be easy. There will be great conflicts between individuals, groups and nations throughout the world based on fears of the new, and the inability to settle old problems. This will be a major problem because the Saturn-Uranus opposition leads to other outer planet aspects that are hard and unfavorable. The era of the late 20th century is coming to an end according to the transits of the outer planets of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto.

All four (4) planets are heading towards three of the four cardinal signs between November 2008 and spring 2011. The Mundane Cyclic Index (CI) which tracks the movement of the outer planets as they relate to world mass psychology and indicates astrological trends. The CI is not in positive territory for the decade of the 2010s.

The early 2010s features these powerful planetary combinations:

- Saturn/Uranus Opposition (2008-2011)
- Jupiter-Saturn opposition in 2010 & 2011
- Jupiter square Pluto aspect (2010 & 2011)
- Saturn square Pluto (2009 & 2010)
- Uranus square Pluto (2011-2017)

The above outer planet configurations are generally malefic, and influence the entire planet. Each region of the world receives a near equal amount of vibration tonal energies. From my calculations of the superior global transits the consequences of the economic crisis will lead into a Second Great Depression by the year 2010 with many western world nations turning inward, and protectionist, and with poorer countries suffering from the lack of investment. The geopolitical effects are dire with radicalism turning into rebellions, then to political intrigue, and in some cases, revolution in several nations from 2010 to 2018.

What must be understood about the global transits is that they are always on time, and that human beings have the power of free will to make the positive changes should they choose. This is where the public anger comes from, as many populations in multiple nations have lost faith in their leaders, their institutions, and, just on the horizon, some of these nations face the very real possibility of the people taking over public institutions that they believe are not helping, but are also part of the problem.

Several nations will see governments fall from 2009-2018. Some nations will respond with political repressions. While others will repress ever more severely, leading to human-right violations. The tensions of the outer planets, particularly the seven-year square between Uranus and Pluto in the 2010s indicate powerful revolutionary sentiments, pitched outer and internal battles, and the fall of governments. New political parties are sure to rise, and by the time it is all over by the end of the 2010s, the geopolitical map will be changed, and in transition into the next decade of the 2020s according to my calculations and interpretation of the mundane transits.

To understand what the Mundane Cyclic Index (CI) is for the years 2009 to 2018 better, see ~

Moreover, transiting Saturn is heading toward Libra, indicating a new era of laws and sense of justice and Uranus is transiting toward Aries, opening up half a new 42-year cycle (out of 84 years.)

The current Uranus cycle is ending the overall 84-yr. cycle begun in 1928, and the current half of that Uranus cycle since 1969. A major new era since 1969 is coming to an end in 2010 ~ and opening the doors for a new generation in 2011.

The coming Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Pisces in 2010-11 helps to offset some of the rather nastier energies from the Saturn-Uranus opposition; however, the series of oppositions and squares in 2010 and 2011 between Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto are transited by Mars, which activates these hard positions throughout the world.

This will lead to a constant series of crisis throughout the global that have long-ranging consequences if not eased by acts of cooperation, compassion and understanding between people, groups and nations. Those reading this should take the time in the latter months of 2008 to come up with a new series of plans to work in cooperation with others of like mind, and to begin to think ahead for the next decade of the 2010s. In this manner, one can prepare to effectively navigate the world transits just ahead.

The negative economic onslaught is already being seen by a majority of economists as the result of the Great Robber Baron co-presidency of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney that governed for eight years (2001-2009) their neo-conservative followers, and Republicans in congress. After a severe lashing at the polls in November 2008, the Republican Party is at its lowest ebb in 29 years and is hated by a majority of Americans for what the electorate sees as a selling out of America to Wall Street, commercial banks, oil companies and global corporations.

There were many involved who helped to crash the economies of many nations through their misdeeds, miscalculations, corruption and greed. The British Guardian newspaper highlighted a short list of who they are:

See ~ http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2009/jan/26/road-ruin-recession-individuals-economy

TIDES OF FORECLOSURES

The coming transits of the early 2010s could, should the governments of many nations repeat the actions of the 1930s, return many nations to a time when countries veered towards isolationalism and protectionism when the world capital markets dissolved. Many economists are now beginning to think that history is about to repeat itself very soon.

In winter 2009, the majority of economic and world news is grim with headlines around the globe clear showing a severe contraction in nearly all nations’ economies. Meanwhile, as populations struggle with higher food and energy cost, and with double-digit unemployment, the same populations have been hitting the streets seething with anger of hundreds of billions of “bailout” money for commercial and investment banks seen as being the cause of the economic collapse in the first place.

Some recent items as of Winter 2009---

 U.S. home sales continue to plummet to record levels
 Double digit unemployment figures continue to rise
 Corporations continue to lose billions
 Companies slash tens of thousands of jobs each week
 Foreclosure rates reach unprecedented heights
 The market for land purchases is weak and getting weaker
 Banks cannot hold onto real estate indefinitely

Meanwhile, global investors are anxiously awaiting more details on a multibillion-dollar economic stimulus package making its way through Congress. On January 30, 2009, U.S. President Barack Obama called the economic slump a "continuing disaster" for America's families. He told a White House gathering that the government can't drag its feet or delay action much longer. That same day new U.S.Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner met with senior government officials to develop the Obama administration's plan for overhauling the $700 billion bailout program and improve regulation of the financial system.

The housing crisis, spurred on by the massive securitization of mortgages for nearly a decade by Wall Street investment firms and commercial banks and their mortgage units, continue to be blamed for the global economic crisis. Sales of new homes dropped 14.7% in December to the lowest level on record, the U.S. Commerce Dept. reported on Jan. 29.

America's foreclosure crisis is hitting home in the over whelming majority of local housing markets, which are experiencing deflating home prices. As many as one in 15 homes are affected in especially hard hit markets, including the states of California, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona and many other states. Especially hard hit areas in California, Nevada and Michigan have multiple neighborhoods with block after block of abandoned homes.

A conservative reading of the unemployment rate says it surged to 7.2% in December 2008, after a flood of end-of-year layoffs. A new report from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics shows all 50 states and the District of Columbia recorded unemployment rate increases in December compared with the previous month and the prior year. December 2008 marked the first time every state recorded a rise in monthly unemployment since the bureau began keeping such records in 1976.

Some say that unemployment is really about 13-15% nationwide. Reports say that over 2.6 million jobs were lost in the United States in 2008, many coming in the last quarter of 2008 with more companies stating that they plan to slash many thousands of more jobs in February 2009. "All the evidence is showing prices dropping at a more rapid rate," said a Washington DC economist. "It's not a good time for people to buy houses when they're losing jobs at this rate.”

According to Mike Colpitts, editor of Housingpredictor.com, housing prices nationwide will fall 12% in 2009, after sliding 11.1% in 2008. He said the big story of 2009 will be the wave of foreclosures caused by millions more of the same pay option adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs) which gave borrowers choices of making minimum payments that do not cover the accrued interest. Option ARMs were especially popular in California, Florida, and Nevada, among the three worst states suffering from a tide of foreclosed residences. Most economists now agree that newly created adjustable rate mortgages and sub-prime loans were artificially inflated by a Robber Baron government to meet Wall Street’s demands for more mortgages to leverage.

Colpitts, one of the first economic forecasters to report on the emerging foreclosure crisis says that the U.S. is only halfway through the disaster. The crisis is widely expected to cost the real estate industry $1-trillion alone. Last November, updating its' forecast, Colpitts predicted foreclosures would total 5.6-million empty units through the year 2011. However, because “unprecedented numbers of real estate investors and owner occupants walking away from their homes and mortgages, the forecast is being adjusted upward to 6.4-million units.”

Colpitts cites these facts to back up his claims:
 More than 4.5-million homeowners face interest rate adjustments on adjustable rate mortgages in the next two years, and as a result of falling home values many will be unable to refinance their properties. Real estate values have dropped as much as 60% from the markets highest peaks.

 Hard hit by auto industry lay-offs, Detroit leads the Housing Predictor Forecast Worst 25 Market list for the year followed by Southern California's Inland Empire, which includes Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The epidemic of foreclosures is projected to continue to impact the areas harshly through 2009.

 Home values will average total deflation from 50 to 70% depending on what markets. Especially hard hit metropolitan markets and areas close to major urban areas will sustain the worst deflation.

 The Central Valley of California is experiencing huge drops in home values, which places third on the list with Stockton followed by Greater Los Angeles and Miami. The surplus of condos for sale on the market will put a drag on Miami through at least 2010. In all, nine California markets were named to the list, more than any other state.

 Appraisers are also taking a hit in the spill over of the mortgage crisis. As a result, many appraisers are tightening under-writing criteria and some banks are requiring two appraisals on some properties in particularly hard hit housing markets.

The worst 25 U.S. markets are seen below:

Ways to Protect Yourself from Foreclosures:

Colpitts’ advice urges homeowners to see if they are protected by what is called a Homestead Declaration. It’s one of the most misunderstood aspects of real estate, he states. Homestead protections are available in 27 states, and in many cases it can protect your home from being taken away by creditors.

However, a Homestead Declaration must be filed in order for the Homestead to be in effect in the majority of states. In most states the law states that a residence does not become exempt from creditors liens until a homestead declaration has been recorded. The recording requirement makes title searches of the property realize it’s exempt of many liens.

When it comes to the terms "Homestead Exemption" and "Homestead Declaration," most people are confused, and the confusion could lead to financial ruin for property owners, who think they have legal protection they don’t.

It’s estimated that more than 90% of all homeowners don’t know the difference between the two terms, according to Tom Rucker of Homestead Declaration Services, which could be costly if they ever run into financial problems. "There is always the possibility of a financial disaster in today’s litigious society," said Rucker. "An overabundance of lawyers is doing everything possible to prevail."

The Homestead Exemption is a tax break. The Homestead Declaration is a sworn statement claiming property as the owners principal residence as a homestead. Most property owners think that filing for the exemption protects their property from a forced sale, but that isn’t the case. The Homestead Declaration needs to be filed in most states to protect the property.
As property rights erode, financial times toughen and record foreclosures increase, filing for a Homestead Declaration is becoming more important. It’s not a constitutional right, and filing for the tax break does not fully protect a property owner from lawsuits, judgments or creditors. On the other hand, the Homestead Declaration can do just that. A homeowner can get the maximum amount of homestead protection under the law in Florida for property up to ½ acre inside municipalities and 160 acres of land in unincorporated areas. To do that, the Homestead Declaration form has to be filled out properly, notarized and recorded with the county clerk.

Though they vary from one state to another, homestead statutes are similar in intent. They are designed to preserve family homes, which might otherwise be taken in times of misfortune or the death of the head of the household. However, this protection is generally only available if the declaration is filed in advance of such a catastrophe.

"Many laws and methods exist to do this. But most state legislatures are aware of this fact and they have enacted specific and stringent laws that protect the public from the wrath of the courts and the corporate state. At the same time they prevent citizens from becoming a financial burden to the state." Florida and Texas have some of the strongest homestead laws, but homestead protections are available in 25 other states.

GENERATIONAL TRANSITION: GLOBAL TRANSITS 2009-2012

Although I would prefer to be more positive, looking at the longer-range global transits in light of current world events, I cannot. In fact, over the long-term, at least to the year 2020, I see ever more negative fallout from the current crisis extending throughout much of the next decade.

According to my astrological calculations, I do not see the American housing market to return to healthy levels until after the year 2018. The world transits clearly show that the early years of the 2010s will be beset with the results of over 30 years of the Age of Materialism begun in the early 1980s, when the free market, as perceived by Wall Street, was allowed to rule the economies of many nations.

Deregulation over this period has led to a massive leveraging of nearly every market, and now that de-leveraging is taking place, values have fallen over 50%. I expect values to fall still further, so, by the year 2011, the entire free market will have been radically changed. And more will come in the years to follow in the 2010s.

There are a number of reasons for this.
One of them is generational. At this time of writing, in winter 2009, the world is undergoing a huge generational transition of world leadership from the outgoing baby boomer generation born 1939-1953 to the incoming Generation X, born 1961-1975, see ~ http://vnutravel.typepad.com/migurus/2007/01/baby_boomers_vs.html

The baby boomer generation has been the generation in power since the early 1990s, and this large generation has become the new senior citizens at the same time the world is facing unprecedented economic crisis, and soon, a social one, which will threaten how business is done in caring for the elderly. Many millions of baby boomers have lost their entire life savings, and have little to nothing to retire on.

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2008/07/retirement_savings.html

Moreover, many aging baby boomers falsely believe they will be able to keep working to retain a lifestyle and be able to save enough for retirement. However, the truth of the matter is that the retirement years for baby boomers is already here, and world transits do not show there is much significant working years remaining to be able to sustain and pay for the costs of living; especially in the areas of healthcare for the aged, much less the basics of living the lifestyle this generation has become used to all of their lives.

The future statistics showing the generational economic realities are disheartening to say the least.

See ~ http://seekingalpha.com/article/103202-the-shallowest-generation

For over two decades, there has been a major disconnect within the baby boomer generation about the facts of life ~ mainly, aging. Baby Boomer media executives, editors and writers for years been extending the length of the boomer generation ever deeper into the decade of the 1960s (Generation X) which seems as a subconscious effort to believe they are getting younger.

http://www.spiked-online.com/Articles/0000000CA5EB.htm

The Baby Boomer author & social scientist Mike Males comments, “Baby boomers are supposed to be the premier navel-gazers of our time, and yet when it comes to the big things, there’s this reaction against self-examination,” he says. “Meanwhile, the attitude now seems so much angrier and more punitive: ‘We’re going to take money out of our schools, we’re going to elect anti-tax politicians, we’re going to institute government controls to manage kids instead of leaving it up to families, we’re going to be perfectly comfortable with the fact that kids are going to be massively in debt and far poorer than we were.’”

See ~ http://articles.latimes.com/2006/jan/22/magazine/tm-males04

In many ways, the economic collapse of 2008 is directly related to the aging of the baby boomers, and the generational transition that had been long forecasted to begin in the 2000s. The economic meltdown really is a mirror of what is happening tens of millions of baby boomers worldwide as the sun sets on the latter half of the 20th century which defined this generation, and rises on the new generations born after 1960. This is signified by the election of the first Generation X American President Barack Obama.

The generation transition is reflected in the world transits. We can see this in the transit of Uranus (1928-2011) as the 20th century truly comes to an end with Uranus’ entry into the first point of Aries in the spring of 2011. The current opposition of Saturn to Uranus switches the placement of their last opposition in the 1960s, during the era of the baby boomer “counterculture revolution” when Saturn was in tropical Pisces/Aries and when Uranus was in tropical Virgo/Libra.

At that time, the younger baby boomer generation revolted against the Establishment of the 1960s ushering in a new cultural lifestyle and language, ushering in wide family and social breakdowns, war, mass protests, and rebellion against institutions they felt were out of step with their beliefs and values. The opposition of Saturn to Uranus clearly showed the influences of rebellion, radicalism, and social disorder.

This time, in 2008 and 2009, on the cusp of the next decade of the 2010s, transiting Saturn is now transiting Virgo, soon to enter Libra in 2010, and transiting Uranus is now in Pisces, soon to enter Aries.

These two time-keeper planets have exchanged Sign placements in space relative to the Earth and the Baby Boomer generation is now the older Establishment, with the signs showing massive social disorder, protests, and budding rebellions against institutions younger generations today say have lied, stolen, and cheated them out of a better life and future, see ~ http://generationalhelots.blogspot.com/

What the Baby Boomer generation is facing today, and will continue to face in 2009-2011 is the need to face up to their own values and beliefs of the 1960s, and the failure to realize these beliefs in the real world during their time of leadership since the early 1990s through the decade of the 2000s. With the global economic crisis, failing schools, financial corruption on Wall Street and within banking and nearly all other institutions, many of the younger generations have labeled the baby boomer principles a failure, and believe this current older Establishment in effect, sold out their ideals for selfish excesses that have brought the world to the brink of a Second Great Depression under their leadership for nearly 20 years.

The results of this generational transition ranges between the very angry to offering apologies about what the Baby Boomer generation has brought onto the world during their decades of being in power throughout all public and private institutions, from the White House, to Wall Street firms, banks, heads of companies, controlling boardrooms to administrating, and running schools and societies into the ground:

Here, a Baby Boomer author apologizes for his generation in his column, http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59022

While a non-boomer ranges on against the boomer generation, see ~ http://dieboomerdie.blogspot.com/

While another Baby Boomer is worried what her generation has done to the world, see ~ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/beth-dozoretz/the-baby-boomers-last-ch_b_38295.html

Another non-boomer blogger tracks the lists of what he calls the “worst generation ever,” see ~ http://www.theworstgenerationever.blogspot.com/

Here, another Baby Boomer writer is outraged at what he says his generation is doing to the world, see ~ http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/10/the_great_boomer_comeuppance.html

What these, and many other responses and observations clearly show is that another generational war is budding. However, this one will not be so clear as the one that the baby boomers in their youth during the 1960s, and early 1970s experienced, but will be stronger, due mainly to the anger at the boomer generation for their excesses, and conscious inability to accept the truths that are evident in the failures of their own actions in power, and, for some, in their continued denial to call such observations as “boomer bashing,” which, as the baby boomer social scientist Mike Males once related, is absolute denial in its purest form about the facts of life facing his generation.

The factor of the transiting planets and their influences on the world during this time, and into the 2010s, clearly indicates that these generational observations will become more pronounced as the results of the severe world economic contraction accelerates into the early-to-mid 2010s.

The configurations of the outer planets are beyond any doubt setting the stage for a massive series of changes for many countries as new generations rise to power and replace what will be seen as the excesses of the establishment of the boomer generation. How the baby boomers will react to such changes will determine the lifestyles they will live in the 2010s, which, according to the transits, will be very challenging in light of the consequences of the severe global economic contraction mixed in with the fact that the boomer generation is now entering their elderly years.

In order to ease the transition, I am not of the belief that one should stick one’s head in the ground and ignore what the causes were for the world’s problems in this age. Those of the baby boomer generation must be held to account for what has taken place under their leadership. However, in order to make the transition as smooth as possible, I also believe that we all must work together to emerge out from under the tide of negativity, greed, corruption, and cynicism that has stagnated the world’s economy and caused such devastation to untold hundreds of millions of people, destroying careers, families and lives.

It will be difficult enough to make the generational transition smooth without the realization among the outgoing Establishment of Baby Boomers to come to terms with the results of their generation’s actions. Appeals not to observe this, to label it “boomer bashing” and not face up to the realities of the generational gulf does not help to solve the crisis, but rather exacerbates it, because obviously, the younger generations do see it, and acknowledge it as fact, not fiction, as well as insightful Baby Boomers themselves, who continue to highlight the failures of their own generation during their time in power.

At this time in early 2009, the voices from among some Boomers are few and far-between, especially those of the so-called “Boomer Elite” who have profited by bankrupting hundreds of corporations, thousands of companies, and have left millions unemployed.

The lack of acknowledgement from the Baby Boomers about their involvement in the world economic collapse can do nothing other than to make things worse under the influences of the current Saturn/Uranus opposition, and the coming Cardinal Climax world transit of 2010 and 2011. The refusal to accept their generation’s complicity as the Establishment responsible for the economic and social collapse, will, in a short time, reveal itself through Uranus’ transit into tropical Aries, and ultimately result in a series of rebellions that will lead to revolutions in some countries, and cultural revolutions in others ~ with the Baby Boomer generation in the unfamiliar role as the hated Establishment going out of power.

A time will come in the 2010s, when an era of reconciliation will be required to come to terms with the excesses of the Baby Boomer generation on the world, its economies, and the social and political messes they have left in their wake for a younger generation to clean up.

Until that time, it will not be an easy thing for many baby boomers to hear that their generation is viewed as one of extreme selfishness, huge excesses, widespread corruption, negativity, and massive greed; spending the future resources of their own children and grandchildren to maintain a lifestyle that has already fallen to the wayside and leaving the entire planet’s economy ruined as a result with confidence in their leadership completely ruined.

The transits of the 2010s will not be easy to handle for those who decades prior, had multiple opportunities to protect the resources of the future. So, it will be a long time before the younger generations will feel comfortable enough to heap praise on the baby boomer generation that they see now as being the sole reason for the negativity and destruction of the world economy at present.

The global transits during the 2010s shows that the world is beginning a new era, and this era will be the true beginning of the 21st century. The new is giving way to the old, as the unconventional world rises to replace the conventional world.

The signs of this are shown by the generational transition underway, according to the positions and transits of the outer planets, for without their movements, there would be no time. Saturn’s current opposition to Uranus has come full circle for the baby boomer generation. This is the meaning of the astrological adage, “what goes around, comes around.” Nothing could be truer when it comes to the transits of the outer planets.

I was just wondering how much you think is corruption on the part of bankers and how much foolhardiness and being unable or incapable of comprehending the risks. I think it might be less about corruption and more about recklessness. Either way a well done article.

I thought the article was a little light on the astrology, but I think this is because I am new to mundane astrology so while it looks like it makes sense to you there are so many jumps it leaves a newbie quite baffled. If you have the time it would be awesome if you could show how these aspects mean what they mean.

Here is a really interesting article, one of the best I've seen, by moriningmoon on the transit of Pluto into Capricorn.
http://powerfulintent.ning.com/profiles/blog/show?id=1335877%3ABlogPost%3A849668

Basically, what she is saying is that Neptune transits determine what is idealized, and Pluto transit destroy those ideals. She gives the example of the Neptune Scorpio transit that lasted from the late 1950s into the early 1970s, that idealized sexuality, hence the "sexual revolution", sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. Then came Pluto in Scorpio from the 80's into the late 90's-all of a sudden, the AIDS virus reared its head, and the dangers of drugs were obvious with the upsurge of crack cocaine and drug education drives.

From 84' to 98' Neptune was in Capricorn. The world of high finance was idealized, corporatism, and deregulation of the markets came in strong with Reagan. Money and status became idealized. Well, with Pluto coming into Capricorn, we are looking at all of the corruption and corporations running free and unchecked coming to a halt. Hopefully our governments will be more realistic and practical under the influence of Capricorn.

From 98' to the present-Neptune has been in Aquarius. Oneness (globalization), technology used to communicate and unite, development of new forms of energy-all ideas that are being idealized.

It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Thanks. Actually, there is quite a bit of astrology in my article. One of the things about Mundane Astrology I stress for learners of this complex field, and in Astrology in general, is to make the connections to what is happening astrophysically to what is happening geophysically here on Earth, according to the adage, "as above, so below." Sometimes there is too much astrological language that interferes in the understanding of what is happening in the world around us, and not everyone understands that language, but are aware of the global events, and want to understand how celestial phenomena plays a role.

It is essential for anyone student stuyding astrology, especially mundane astrology, to also study history, economics, social science, geopolitics, and current events as they relate to the world (mundus) in general, and to not make a seperation between what is happening in the world, and to the transits as known by the science of astrology. There is no seperation ~ all is connected.

Do you think sign placements are relevant or are aspects more pertinent, as you focus on aspects more and don't really mention signs. Are these the 'triggers' while maybe signs are the underlying causes?

For instance in the current crisis you mentioned Saturn-Uranus as bad for insurance etc. I can see Saturn might represent risk, and Uranus could be unpredictability, and seeing as the whole point of insurance is to predict risk this could be challenging [I'm guessing your thoughts here... is this a good interpretation? Please correct me!]. But I'm not sure how to interpret that with a Virgo-Pisces sign layering...

And I was thinking the Uranus-Neptune mutual reception might come into play considering Neptune and Saturn are quincunx every now and then. But I wouldn't have a clue what this means. You can see me freestyling in the other thread but some experienced advice would be very welcome.

Theo,
thankyou for your posts, they are, as always, extremely isightful and prophetic.
I'm not really sure how to explain this, but as i've said on another of your posts, I have always known that a change of great proportions was going to occur. a quiet voice warning me to pay close attention ...as if my intuition were a distant drumbeat, growing stronger and louder with age. Growing up I felt a strong urge to prepare myself, not necessarily financially, but more so mentally and spiritually. I don't know if it is all the capricorn energy in me just doing what it naturally does, but alot of my life seems as though it has been spent building up an inner strenghth in anticipation of some great, future tribulation of sorts.
I have a few questions... some self-involved.
Generation X is responsible for cleaning up the devastation the Baby Boomers have left behind from their their lack of conscious living. Then it is the responsibility of generation Y to rebuild and form the new structures under which future generations are to live.

As a an individual of generation Y, I find it hard to believe that my generation is at all that concerned with the restructuring of world order. From my own personal observations, many of my generation seem to be wrapped up in the same things Baby Boomers are ridiculed for divulging in... consumerism, acting without caring for the consequences it may have on the future or others, status, etc. ( I realize, of course, that not all Boomers are like this.)
A select few I've come across really take in interest in the issues at hand. Most of my generation is only interested in going with the flow, or following whichever guru or idol is popular next.
My question is... are those individuals, with personal planets aspecting the neptune-saturn-uranus conjunction in capricorn that occured throughout the late '80's early '90's, more in tune and synchronized with this transformative energy than others of this generation?... are they meant to be at the forefront of the movement, leading the easily swayed masses? that power could be frightening if held in the wrong hands.

Also what do you see occurring when the generation succeding generation Y come into power?

On a personal level,
most all of the planets in my natal chart, aside from mars in saggitarius and pluto in scorpio, occupy cardinal signs. as you can imagine , my chart is composed of many squares and oppositions.
What should a person, with a large number of personal planets conjuncting in capricorn, and other personal planets occupying cardinal signs, come to expect with the upcoming Cardinal Climax of 2010 and 2011?

Conflicts can and will likely emerge during this era. Because it is a Saturn-Uranus opposition. The reason there are "opposition" and "Squares" is simple. Opposition is the most difficult challenge. And the one likely to have the most powerful effect. However, Squares pose challenges but these challenges are slightly easier to overcome.

In order to break down the astrology to the simplest level, why don't we take the current Saturn-Uranus Opposition.

We see Saturn in Virgo, and Uranus in Pisces. Virgo is an Earth Sign, Pisces is a Water Sign. With Saturn in Earth and Uranus in Water. The challenge that God has given us is to intergrate these two feelings. The feelings of sweeping(water) change, with the structure that Saturn gives us, enhanced by the earth.

If we look at the future squares-oppositions we will get a clearer picture.

- Jupiter-Saturn opposition in 2010 & 2011
- Jupiter square Pluto aspect (2010 & 2011)
- Saturn square Pluto (2009 & 2010)
- Uranus square Pluto (2011-2017)

First: Jupiter-Saturn Opposition. If we recall, Jupiter is the planet of expansion, growth. And Saturn is the planet of structure, rule and authority. From a political standpoint, one can see this as opposition to a growth in Government. Keep in mind. B.H.O said the following words "It doesn't matter if it's Big Government or Small Government as long as it works". Politically, Obama may be moving towards a bigger government in the U.S, there may be several other movements with groups trying to access a stronger political power amidst the crisis. Due to the "opposition" factor, it's likely that the American People or the People of the world are in charge of this opposition.

We see Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus Squaring Pluto around this time. In particular. That Uranus Square Pluto is interesting. If Uranus-Saturn opposition brought forth Barack Obama, what do you think Uranus Square Pluto means?

Of course, the opposite. By this time, the American Empire, as well as other nations will fall due to the severe economic pressure and the severity of the hatred of the American People. Considering it starts during 2011, it is clear what the challenge is.

Do we fall into the hatred and greed that Uranus-Square-Pluto will likely cause? Or do we embrace the spiritual awareness that Neptune in Pisces gives us?

The choice is ours and because Neptune is an outer planet, Neptune will be in Pisces for quite the time. God is giving us a chance to select a Higher path.

Once again Theo, you've produced an excellent article for consideration by Forum members - but it seems to me to be in danger of "falling between two stools" during debate by members. Some will be interested particularly in learning about/questioning the underlying astrology behind your observations (the stated primary purpose of the forum) whilst others will focus more upon the content/message of your article (and what it means in the real world) - and there might even be a third group whose interest lies in challenging your political/social beliefs.

To me, all three of these debating routes are of interest........but I suspect that confusion and discord will prevail if these very different objectives are pursed simultaneously by members on this thread. (Moderators - maybe there is a rare case here for the same topic to be pursued on more than one board.)

Perhaps confusion is inevitable on a thread/topic such as this, but it would certainly help me Theo if you could provide an indication of what you would like the debate to be focused upon.

EJ:)

Thanks EJ. However, my article does not reflect my political, or my social beliefs, nor do I seek a debate. As a mundane astrologer, I am merely following the principles of mundane forecasting, and noting world events as they relate to present and coming world transits.

I think what is more important for students of astrology, and astrologers to remember about mundane astrology is to not think there is a "disconnect" between what is going on in the world from Astrology ~ all is connected ~ and this means seeing the world as it is via the world transits, and not making a distinction using astrological language as a disconnect from the real world.

This is particularly the case with the outer planets, as they relate to the trans-personal world around us. Astrology is not a solely personal science, or philosophy, nor can it be relegated to just the individual, or seen only through that perspective. The larger view must always prevail, as the planets regulate the overall atmosphere and climate that we all exist in, and we see this in the events of the world like the global economic crisis.

For instance, oppositions of Saturn/Uranus, and the role of Uranus, has always played a part in generational issues. We've seen this before, the last time was in the 1960s. We are seeing this again now with the current Saturn/Uranus transit. There have been those early-birds who have seen this coming for some time; however, as the Saturn/Uranus opposition matures, along in combination with the outer transits of the other planets, we will see generational news and events broaden out, so by the year 2010, and into the early 2010s, it will become obvious to most everyone that there is a generational transition underway.

One of the ways to understand the global transits is to study the combinations of the outer planets and their effects on the world to see how forecasting is done. Current world events certainly prove that astrology is valid, and we are seeing many signs already of what is to come for the world should it continue on the path it is now on.

How people chose to repsond to the celestial transits usually depend on their knowledge of transits, which, at this time in history, is poor to nil, excepting those who are able to know what an ephemeris is, and have some understanding, or knowledge of transits. However, the majority of people do not, and, because of this, will most likely continue along the path of allowing these world transits to greatly influence them. We can learn much by reading the transits while keeping what our sensibilities would like to hear at a bare minimum.

Try to see Sign placements and aspects as connected, not seperate. For instance, the Saturn/Uranus opposition will highlight the axis it transits, in this present time, the Virgo/Pisces axis, but also these Signs are aspected by their natural placement, to other signs, which, when planets move through them, often trigger, enhance, or detract, from the total combined influences at work, either now, or, in the future.

Saturn is now in the mundane Sixth House (Virgo) and this is considered a "evil" position, in that the position of Saturn in Virgo (House of Work, Unions, the Common People) incites disorder, mainly through disruptions and unheaveal at work (unemployment.) Saturn is "afflicted" by its opposition to Uranus, which, from the 12th Mundane House of Pisces, highlights reforms of public institutions from enlightened administrators. However, the affliction via opposition to Saturn to Uranus along the Virgo/Pisces mutable axis shows what we are seeing in the world news: mass discontent, rising crime levels due to high rates of unemployment, foreclosures, insubordination at work, and within institutions, and a general sense of confusion, distrust of leadership, public institutions, and government.

In judicial, or mundane astrology, in natal forecasting, or world forecasting, all is complex work because of the need to integrate the many variables into a cohesive interdisciplinary understanding of what is taking place, how the energies are being dispersed, and what the results of these dispersals will be in the future as they apply to the individual (s) group (s) and the world at large.

Study Raphael's text on Mundane Astrology, as this will give you some of the basics while trying to understand how current world transits, and their influences have on history, and the era we are currently in, as well as the new era the world is entering.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/6135936/Raphaels-Mundane-Astrology

The best way for students to learn is to take careful observations of the world news, and to note the transits of the time, and of the past, to see where these energies are being dispersed throughout the world. This particular moment in time will see most of the planet involved, due to the planets heading towards the sensitive world cardinal points, with Pluto already at the southern solstice point of Capricorn, and with Jupiter and Uranus heading towards the eastern equinox point of Aries in 2010/2011 and Saturn moving to make conjunction with the western equinox point of Libra in 2010.

The outer planets are "trans-personal" ~ meaning that larger forces are in play when the superior planets are very active by aspect. This is the case now with the current astrological influences of Saturn/Uranus, and the ongoing planetary transits, as well as the coming cardinal climax transits of 2010/2011. Such contacts to the seasonal points of Aries, Libra, and Capricorn in this case often leave strong signatures on current events, enough so to imprint them on the world for years afterwards. We are now within the transit zones for this, and will continue to remain within this zone for much of the 2010s.

Thank you, estrella, for posting the link to that article. I found it relevant and interesting, as it posed a link between the effects of Neptune & Pluto of which I had not previously been aware.

If you add Uranus into this particular mix, noticing that from the late 1980's when Uranus moved into conjunction with Neptune, Uranus's faster orbit has allowed it to serve as the vanguard of `what's just around the corner!' In this way Uranus is - until around 2018, at least - showing the way, and perhaps presenting some possibilities for change, all of which will probably be ignored (or perhaps conveniently forgotten) once Neptune moves into the sign previously occupied by Uranus.

Watched the videos on youtube , amazing. Now my interest is fired up to calculate the Cyclic Index. I have a set of longitudes both Helio and Geo and I have a basic question. does one subtract the longitude of the faster moving planet from the slower moving one ? like Jup - Saturn, Jupiter-Uranus , Jup-Neptune, Jup-Pluto ??

Thank you.

I don't quite see how a person's personal issues should discredit their ability to be an effective knowledgable astrologer.
We might all have financial issues we do not publicly want to share. And we are in America and we are all innocent until proven guilty....For now..I hope it stays this way
