How solar are you? Test it!
Thanks to another thread about Jupiter, I now wanted to give more attention to the sunny and dramatic person in you.
What's your RRrrroarrRrR - factor?
PS: I'm not showing off, but I have 75.. And yes, I can't bare it when someone gets an higher score than me

74 if I'm being generous. How did I manage to miss this thread? Do I come off like a Solarian to you?

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
I got 70. Odd. I never really considered myself particularly solar. I don't know how I feel about this

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
6, lol.
I really don't have very many taurus traits. Sun is in taurus, and it conjuncts my mercury in gemini. It doesn't make any other aspects with anything. Biggest thing is I am stubborn, and like to go at my own pace (which is rather fast). Most other things can be explained through other stuff in my chart.

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
50, but I gave myself 10 extra because my Vertex and the asteroid Ceres are in Leo, both conjuncting my Leo sun. So I'm about half solar, half lunar. Which is cool because my moon is in Cancer, very balanced

Actually, İ don't really believe this test. After all: İ'm diagnosticus, so İ know there is a lot bias in it

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
My score was 43, so not particularly Solar in nature. I have more going on with my Moon and have always felt more "lunar" as a result. Interesting test though

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
haha this test is kinda crazy. I have 95!! How is that even possible?
And I might even have more if you consider the fact that a stellium is three planets that form conjunctions to each other and I have four stelliums with the sun. Sun/merc/venus, sun/merc/jupiter,sun/merc/uranus, sun/venus/uranus.
I only counted the stellium once, thus the 95. So I guess it would be 110 if the other three stelliums were added!
That is pretty crazy, especially for a scorpio/capricorn combo!
For the record, I have only felt solar energy as a teenager/adult and not at all as a child and even now not nearly as much as that test would indicate! I have always felt mercury and venus more.

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
Sun Trine Moon, Opposition Ascendant, Square Midheaven for 3 x 10 points
Sun conjunct Mercury and Mars, Square Uranus, Trine Pluto 4 x 6 points
Sun semisquare Venus, Sextile Neptune 2 x 4 Points
Sun Inconjunct N.Node 4 Points
Ascendant in Leo, 10 points
Jupiter in in Leo, 5 points
Venus in 5th house 3 points
Sun in Kite and Stellium configuration 10 points
94 points I guess, though I think that I should subtract a few points for my sun being in Debility (Accidental dignity is already accounted for in the scoring above)

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
The test lacks consideration of elements involving the detriment/debility of the Sun, eg:
-Sun in Aquarius is in detriment
-Sun in Libra is in debilitation (ie, its Fall)
-Sun between 15 Libra and 15 Scorpio is afflicted (because of being in Via Combusta)
-Sun posited in the 3rd house is in its "house of sorrow" (being in the 9th house the Sun would get + points because, according to the ancients, the 9th is the Sun's "house of joy")
-given the nature of the South Node, Sun within 2-3 degrees of the SN should have points subtracted from it
-the test also ignores exaltation of the Sun in Aries: + points should be given for such a position
I would add that a strong Sun (eg a high point total with this test) will not be beneficial when that potent Sun is in square or opposition to the ascendant, MC, Part of Fortune, or any other planet or chart element; further, planets in close conjunction to a strong Sun would be largely absorbed by the qualities/influences of the Sun, and their specific influences largely negated (this condition of close conjunction with the Sun is known in Traditionalist-and also in Vedic-astrology as "combustion")

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
Power is one thing; benefit (or harm) is another.
Satan is said to be powerful, but he is not known as a nice guy.
It's just my personal opinion, but "point-scoring" methods are very artificial and mechanistic. Men and women are neither artifical, nor machines. The method does not suit the subject. And even if effective, they tell us little else than how powerful a planet might be. They do nothing to tell us about the nature or qualities of the planet.
The old astrologers used such point systems, for example to determine the almuten (once again, evaluating power). Seems to me these modern point systems are just B-grade reruns created by wanna-be directors who were run out of Hollywood. They lack originality and serve little purpose.
But Achilles had a heel. Weakness can often be a determining factor in destiny.
Now that you have 94 points, tell us what your Sun says about you. The only thing you have learned about yourself is that you have 94 points. Maybe some lonely girl at a dimly-lit bar might want to hear about that, maybe not.

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
sun conjunct mercury = 6
sun square jupiter = 6
sun square saturn = 6
sun quintile moon = 4
midheaven in leo = 10
jupiter in leo = 5
part of a major configuration (t-square) = 5
add them up and that gives me solid 42
edit: actually... my sun is in aries too, how many points should i add for this? (@ dr.farr)
i'm going to go with 10 points for sun in aries, but wait... it's also in the 6th house, thus slightly weakened... 7 points?

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
What does it mean?
What are you going to do with it now that you have it?
Displayed proudly on her front lawn, a sign saying "MY SATURN SCORE IS 90!"
Right next to the sign declaring, "My child is on the honor roll in his kindergarten class."

Re: How solar are you? Test it!
Thanks for the link, I enjoy taking a peek at these things!
I agree, these tests should largely be cosidered fun (like pop music if you ask me) and not taken seriously. I agree with the many considerations ommited creating a blunt instrument for gauging strength. In recent times, afters years of private study, I've finally matured enough in my understanding to see why 'good aspects can be bad' and 'bad, good' etc. So yes, some of those pesky squares could cause serious impediment to fulfilling one's aims.
