The greatest astrologer ever

Abraham was a great philospher and Astrologer.
The Talmud teaches "Abraham held great astrology in his heart, and all the kings of the east and west arose early at his door" He moved to Haran where at the age of seventy five God spoke to him in person for the first time and instructed him to leave his homeland and enter the Holy land.
When God revealed himself to Abraham, one of the first things he told him was that his fate and that of his decendants, transcended the influence of the constellations.
Therefore, Abraham should not be concerned with astrological predictions.

I may have completely understood that...it happens...but are you saying that there is no need to practice astrology, that a particular religion has all the answers? That would not be learning or discussing astrology here...telling people not to practice astrology on an astrology site...wouldn't be friendly or useful to the site...I may have misunderstood though, I can get it backwards sometimes...

Sounds like it, but on an optimistic note, this does illustrate that special circumstances (dispensations) can allow one to rise above the stars, and no longer be subject to their sway-the ultimate goal of all spiritual evolution! Maybe that's what the OP was suggesting?? (hopefully so)

This is where I need your help, does it mean a person can use astrology till they reach a certain spiritual level or does it mean they need to choose ?
I can remember one of Alan Leo's books talking about those who can transcend the constilations but I can't find it now.
The question I ask myself is, did Abraham reach his high level because of astrology.
Is God saying the constellations can't effect you anymore so you don't need this tool anymore you've surpassed it ?

I'm not Jewish but I know Judaism isn't a religion it's a contract with God to do good in the world ( certain planets work on the masses to distort this fact)

Yes I tend to believe that an adept (high spiritual evolution) frees themself from the influence of the Cosmic influences, by becoming one with those influences: however, this applies to the specific advanced adept's OWN relationship with the Cosmos (God if you prefer that term)-for other applications (other than to the adept himself/herself) astrological methods and techniques could still be useful for other purposes, to such a person.

If I were to meet a person on this high level they would know everything about me in a moment.
They have the ability to read people so I don't think astrology would be needed by them.
This is just speculation but it could be that when Abraham reached this high level, he then knew everything. God speaking to him can't be taken literally so it must have been an inner revelation.

Yes, because such a high level adept would be part and parcel of the MIND of the Divinity (the MIND of the Cosmos)

I believe an "adept" of such a high level will only be allowed to enter this world under adverse conditions, he will be under many negative planetary forces because he has so much to give the world. I don't think above the constillations means out of there power if you take on a material body.

What is your opinion on this ?

This is similar to the "avatar" doctrine, to which I largely subscribe.

If we were to receive directly from the universe the realisation of our poor situation would be too much to take, we would just exspire.

The planets are only filters so we can have some kind of existance.
