Neptune/Mercury/Sun stellium in Capricorn (and Pluto transit)?
Hey everyone,
I am having difficulty understanding the nature of my natal stellium - Neptune/Mercury/Sun in the 6th in Capricorn (with the Sun conjunct the Descendant, and Sagittarius on the 6th cusp). I am particularly concerned with understanding this arrangement, given Pluto's march through Capricorn for the next many years.
I think part of my problem comes from an incomplete understanding of Neptune. It seems like kind of a wishy-washy planet - does that mean that my ego and communication are likely to be inconsistent throughout my life? Will my daily life be consistently disrupted? Will Pluto's upcoming conjunction with Neptune uproot not only my daily life, but my essential sense of myself?
Any input would be much appreciated.
Best,
- Mary

Re: Neptune/Mercury/Sun stellium in Capricorn (and Pluto transit)?
T Pluto onto natal neptune is a generational theme, everyone has this. Your neptune only has 2x aspects, square to mercury and mars.
Mars will drain your energy-- Painful things either ignored ie self‑deception,or hypochondriac type, imaginary things (Neptune) Deceive or be deceived!
With the hard aspects between Mercury and Neptune, the danger is that when these people want to learn or to recount the facts as objectively as possible (Mercury), they quite unconsciously colour, undermine, blur or change them (Neptune), and do violence to the truth or make light of it. At worst, they lead others astray or are led astray themselves. Again inadevertant deception given out or received back from people.
You may not be aware that here on AW, we have a search feature-- bit like google for further research...
Transits
astro.com has fee six month transit forecast plus when you get into Extended chart selection, look at the three tabs after calculating a chart under ‘method’ default is circular wheels (on left), middle is special charts and in their you get graphic ephemeris 1yr (or 5years) with natal = transits for 1yr and lots more. BUT you first must learn or memorise the 'glyphs' ie: shorthand for recognising what these maps/graphics mean.
For example when you post or reply to a chart the 'smilies' to the right and just under them [more] if you click on there it will bring up a whole loads of 'glyphs' Mercury Uranus conjunction (+or - 8') trine aspect 120' Libra

Re: Neptune/Mercury/Sun stellium (and Pluto transit)?
Astrologer50,
Thank you for your reply, but I'm a little confused. My natal Neptune (5' 55" Cap) is not square my natal Mercury (12' 40" Cap - and then Sun is at 16'08" of Cap). I know this is not an exact conjunction, but it's within the 8' you are using and the 10' I've seen in other places - but it's certainly not square?
Also, I did try to use the search feature, but couldn't find anything having to do particularly with a nep/merc/sun stellium.
Best,
- Mary

I was looking at your natal neptune aspects, 1) Neptune conj mecury 7' separating orb and 2) Neptune square mars 7' applying...
"applying" and "separating"
There are only three factors, but you have to have a way of knowing them.
1) Speed of the planets
2) Which planets is ahead, and which one is behind.
A simple example:
If two planets are close to conjunction, if the one "ahead" is moving slower, the aspect is applying.
If two planets are close to conjunction, if the one "behind" is moving slower, the aspect is separating.
There are some general rules about the speed of planets, but retrograde motion makes this a bit complicated for all true planets. Only the Sun and Moon do not alternate between direct and retrograde motion
And that's why you have problems with neptune cos it's conj mercury (how you think and communication) and mentally losing the plot, mis communications, reading too much between the lines instead of listening perhaps.....
Also keep an eye on T Uranus conj natal mars end April 2010 as this can cause erruptions of bad temper
