Sun in 12th house
I've read many times before that natal sun in the 12th house means absence of father. Before my baby was born, his father left us. However, I am getting married in a few weeks and he has been just like a father to my little boy. I am curious how this shows in my little boy's chart, if at all?

I wonder if you know if the exact time your son was born was 8:10 am?
The reason I mention it that if he were born five minutes earlier, at 8:05 am, it would change his rising sign from early Virgo to late Leo. And then if we employ a different house system, his 12th house planets would be in the 1st.

Re: Sun in 12th house
Nope, he was definitely born at 8:10. He
even has a lot of virgo traits despite how young he is.

Well, so much for that idea .
I'm not exactly sure how his new loving, step-father would show in the natal chart. But I was wondering if you had looked at your finance's natal chart in relation to your son's. There may be harmonious contacts between the two charts, rather than seeing something in your son's alone, that would reflect his being like a father to your son. Or perhaps something in your finance's chart alone.

Its kind of funny...my fiance will not tell me his birth time because he doesn't believe in astrology. He is Aquarius sun, mercury, and Venus. I thought they usually were interested in stuff like astrology. Anyway, its not possible for me to look at his chart. His moon is Pisces and my baby's is Taurus. I am Taurus Gemini moon. You would think he would be turned off by all that Taurus....but he's not.

You can do his chart with his birthday and 12 noon time. That will show the degree position of all the planets, except the Moon, which will be within =/- 6 degrees. Then you can see harmonious contacts between the two charts.
Also, Pisces and Taurus are sextile by sign and, I think, can be very nice. Taurus is more personal love and Pisces is more transpersonal. But love is love. Is love.

Re: Sun in 12th house
Most people who have sun in the 4th house have the issue of the father being absent in their chart. The mother is the major figure in the persons life.

Re: Sun in 12th house
The chart is for July 25 of this year. Is you child a newborn?
Mama, I don't think the sun in the 12th/absent dad thesis always works. My daughter has her sun-Mercury in the 12th. She's an adult now but her dad was very much part of her life while growing up. We divorced when she was fairly young, but I remarried and my husband has been very much part of her life. If anything, she's had two father-figures.
Sometimes the 12th house sun (or Saturn, for a night birth) can mean that dad was metaphorically absent. Maybe emotionally very remote, or perhaps someone who traveled away from home a great deal.
If you do a chart without knowing the birth time, I would input the time as "unknown" rather than noon. You will get a noon default birth time, anyway, but a chart without houses. I think this is more sensible than constructing a chart where the houses could be way wrong. As Ilene noted, then the moon could move 6 degrees either way.
Astrologically a step-father functions like a biological father in the chart. In traditional astrology the mother is usually indicated by the 10th house. Her new husband would be the 7th house from the 10th, or 4th house. If you prefer to view the 4th house cusp as the mother, then dad or step-dad, as her husband, is the 7th from the 4th, or 10th house. Either way, looking at the axis as a whole is helpful.

Re: Sun in 12th house
Oops. I'm sorry. I didn't realize I had put the wrong year. He was born 2011. I will post the correct chart along with my fiance's (with time unknown). They seem to have a lot of good aspects, especially concerning the sun and saturn. My fiance and I have a lot of negative aspects. I am Taurus Sun, Gemini moon, Venus in Cancer, Mars and Mercury cunjunct sun in Taurus. He is Aquarius Sun, Pisces Moon, Venus and Mercury in Aquarius and Mars in Cancer. Enough said. I am also marrying under these transits: my Saturn return, Saturn and Pluto conjunction, Pluto opposition Venus, Jupiter opposing my Jupiter and Uranus conjunction in my 11th house, and Uranus is squaring my natal Venus in the 6th.
So stepfather would be indicated possibly by my little boy's 4th house?
