Cazimi Mercury 5 November
Mercury goes cazimi - exactly conjunct the Sun - at 5:22 am EST on 5 November - but it's within range ten hours either way.
This gives you a great deal of power in any mercurial pursuits, and since it's also conjunct the fixed star Alphecca, that adds a liberal dash of Venus into the mix.
Want to write that novel? Start it under a cazimi Mercury!
It's good for less drastic actions, too - so take advantage of it, you may be pleasantly surprised.
[Moderator note - thread moved to the 'Astrology Now' board, as it is about a current planetary transit.]

Olivia, how long would this last before Mercury moves off?

I would say until Mercury has past the outgoing conjunction with the Sun at 12°17' orb, so as soon as he is going into the 12°18'. This will happen on the same day. On November 6 Mercury is already at 14°6' Scorpio. He moves fast

Re: Cazimi Mercury 5 November
It's about a 20 hour period, all told. One of the best times to start a Mercury-related project. Or to call the bank and get your overdraft sorted - any sort of communications or other Mercurial pursuits will go very well. It's like you get Mercury super powers for a very short period. But anything you start during that time should keep their super powers intact

Re: Cazimi Mercury 5 November
Ha, this is a good one! Today I gave my bank the order to sell my shares which I had in UK pounds and on which I lost quite a bit of course. So in order to not loose more, I want to sell and re-invest in something more solid and try to recuperate the lost amount. If I come out equal to what I put in I will be more than happy.
I did a horary on it yesterday and Saturn was ruler of my 2nd in that one, so you can imagine, with Saturn just entered in Libra (in the 10th no less), and my Moon in Taurus, that was a good indication for me. So today I brought the letter to the bank, fairly late, so they will have to do it tomorrow on the 5th. Lets hope the superpowers will do their work!

Re: Cazimi Mercury 5 November
Thankyou Olivia, for this relevant posting! I'd like to share my Mercury/Sun cazimi experience. It wasnt done consciously but as the cazimi came into effect I began a Mercurial project that had been sitting in the *too hard* basket for too long. I ended up writing over 38 pages before the frenzy stopped and hardly a typo, which is most unusual for me. In all I worked solidly for about ten hours. It was around midnight when I declared myself finished.
I looked at a transit chart. That's when I realised I had worked through the cazimi period!
Mercury was about 8 mins past the end of the cazimi, so technically *leaving combustion now*, and I should have stopped right there, but no. I decided to update a program...usually a short process, which turned into a two hour marathon...This was when I became aware of the combustion effect of mercury coming from its strongest place, *in the heart of the sun* to a very much weaker position. (I think my computer was on a go slow, after the previous hyperactivity!)
The next day I did feel *burnt out*!!(But the job was done and in a degree of detail that even shocked my virgo moon..)
I'll see what happens *next time* theres a cazimi..if this energy can be applied in a positive way, it could be very handy.
Cheers
Lilly.

Re: Cazimi Mercury 5 November
Thanks Olivia for the heads-up post.
I decided also to use the cazimi period to finalize a couple of things, thought it would be a good moment (due to my Virgo rising). So I ordered my new laptop!! At last!! (My previous one died on the 07.09, when mercury went retro and since then I have a spare from a friend...) So after having read hundreds of reviews and compared different offers, I decided cazimi was the day!! Let's see: I should get it by end of month...
Then I decided to have a look at the job ads though it is not something I do everyday. I opened and the first ad I saw I could not believe my eyes: seemed tailored for me!! It is not the dream job of my life, but I have an 8 years experience on the very specific (technical) matter they are looking for and I know it has excellent prospects (because I know the Company very well). So I called them, I sent them the application by mail and the full documentation supporting it a few hours later by post, as they requested.
The day after I felt exactly the same as Lilly, "burnt out"! I could barely move my legs at my training and I had no energy to even talk to anyone and needed desperately sleep. Now I just hope something comes out of the job application...
