Although I believe in both Vedic and Western Astrologies, my understanding told me that Vedic Astrology is more accurate, which is specific for each & every person. Whereas, my understanding about Western Astrology is that it divides & classifies certain sets of people based on class intervals of birth dates and just describe about their common behaviors.

Please clarify if I'm wrong. I want to study both in conjunction.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, are you talking about just sun sign astrology? - which generalizes very much, but there is a whole lot more to western astrology than this..

I think there are quite a few threads discussing the differences between Western and Vedic astrology on this forum, and a number of different opinions on the topic.

In my opinion Vedic astrology can be very accurate in telling what is actually, factually happening in someone's life. Western astrology is more psychological oriented, which may generally suit the western mind more. Just my idea on this.

Personally I'm interested in both, i have studied western astrology much more and longer, whereas my understanding of vedic is limited - i'm trying to learn more about it.

Dear Bina,
Every system is perfect. Choose one system which is indicated as per your chart and then master that system with minimum of 40 yrs of experience and not less than 100000 charts being studied by you. Doesn't mean all are your clients or shud be your clients. You just need to choose chart from www.astro.com and use your system and research on it.

One more thing that astrology is not about predicting events. Its a tool for nullify bad karmas and neutralize bad karmas of past birth. The huge weakness of Western Astrology is that they don't touch the Puranic system which is generally hailed from Vedic Astrology. We all are here in a cycle of karmas and we need to break that cycle.
