The star, Regulus, is often referred to as the heart of the constellation, Leo, and located at the powerful last degree of that fixed sign. As Leo is symbolic of heart, Regulus is the heart of the heart.

I would suggest that therein may be the source of Regulus' [and your] true power, and that your access to it is great, with it so well positioned, rising in your 1st house.

Technically Regulus is in Virgo now (as of 2012), but in the cases of people born before 2011 (which is almost everyone here) Regulus would be in the last degree.

Through opening our hearts to it, Neptune allows us to see what others may not and to experience sympathy towards the situation. Uranus can motivate us towards humanitarian action: to improve the circumstances of those less fortunate who suffer unhumane conditions. Through this action of opening one's heart and serving the needs of others less fortunate, we become more fully human ourselves. And that empowers us toward greater good, including our own.

These gifts that you possess can also be brought to bear on the troubling circumstances that you are experiencing at home. I hope this clarifies what I was trying to say...
