Will the short film be successful?

I'm in the process of negotiating...I plan on investing a small amount on a short film--away from Hollywood

the short film is based on a published story and the screenplay is written by the same author

the film will be using local talent

I'm not talking success as in MONEY exactly, but that would be great
will it be successful is in recognition outside of where the film was shot?
