Hi there Redrobin! You described the energy of that aspect pretty well. Going and doing things over the top usually, spending too much money and with that Jupiter in Aries, very much at the spurr of the moment. It is not a bad aspect by itself, it is just an aspect which you need to control, the energy I mean. Try to think before you jump, especially when money is concerned. Your Capricorn Sun should be able to discipline you I would think (a bit more difficult when Saturn should be in a fire sign of course). If you dont do that, you can get yourself into occasional, unwanted trouble (getting into debt for instance). Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice starlink. Fortunately I haven't gotten into debt because I'm still young, but I do worry that my excess of enthusiasm will make me quite "the gambler". Unfortunately, my Saturn is in Sagittarius. I have the generational aspect. My Jupiter is also in mutual reception. I have Jupiter in Aries and Mars in Sagittarius. Do you know how this would affect me? Does this give me more of a Sagittarius attitude?

Hello Red Robin!

Unfortunately, my Saturn is in Sagittarius. I have the generational aspect. My Jupiter is also in mutual reception. I have Jupiter in Aries and Mars in Sagittarius. Do you know how this would affect me? Does this give me more of a Sagittarius attitude?

I am glad you are still young! Time enough to learn some more self-discipline then.
I do think that indeed your are more Sagittarious inclined in your attitude, because that Capricorn Sun (self-expression) will express itself in a Saggitarian fashion, far less serious and disciplined than it is supposed to behave. Not a bad thing in itself really, because Capricorns can sometimes be quite controlled and not such party lovers. Now your Sun will use the optimistic, outgoing traits of Sag. which will give you a much lighter way of expression. It will take the usual ambitious, hardworking side of Capricorn away I suppose. Still probably wanting to make it, but not really inclined to work hard for it. You probably like things to go fast, getting results fast, success fast (Mars in Sag.) without all too much input. Is that right?
Jupiter in Aries will really use fireworks of course which does not help either.
But with all that fire in your chart, you could do a lot of things, take the lead, the initiative etc. but it DOES need discipline in order to get results, otherwise it will all be dispersed which would be a shame.
May I ask you what your Ascendant sign is and where the ruler of the Ascendant is situated in your chart?

Hello Astrologer 50. Thanks for all of the information. Jupiter is not the only planet aspecting my sun. I have two aspects this one and sun trine moon. The sun/jupiter aspect is stronger though. Since these are my only two aspects I would suspect that they affect me greatly. All of the explanations I've read of this aspect seemed pretty generic. I want to know how others handle this aspect and if there is any advice on how to deal with the energy

Yes, I am learning the errors of my ways, and I believe there will be more lessons to learn. Discipline is the answer. This aspect would probably explain why I feel so comfortable with Sagittarius people, we get along really well. This aspect may also explain why I like to party so much.... I always thought Capricorns were serious, but this aspect definitely takes the edge off. I have goals, but your right I need to learn how to focus my energy. I was unsure whether Jupiter in Aries makes me feisty or Mars in Sagittarius, but I do become very impatient. I have fits of anger that burn out as fast as they come. I don't know which placement affect me more, but I can be fiery. Well, I don't know my birth time. The information was not on the birth certificate and my mom has no idea. I use the 12pm method to give me an overall reading. The 12pm time says I'm a Taurus, and my Venus is in Aquarius in the 11th house. I no that is not right though. This also places my Jupiter in the 12th house and Mars in the 7th house

I've got my Sun in Aries square Jupiter in Capricorn in the 5th house.

You would think Jupiter in Capricorn would be a sober influence. Well it seems with the square, not so much! I often wake up Sunday afternoon and can't remember what happened since Friday night.

But at least it's usually done in style, not like a numskull frat-boy or anything like that

Lol..I've never partied that hard:innocent:, but I'm not against it either. I think just when I'm really about to get loose the Cappy steps back in. I think it's cool you have this aspect, it's even cooler that it's the complete opposite of mines...Yea, I would never expect Jupiter in Cappy would act that way, but it does touch your Aries sun that loves the spotlight....Does this aspect also make you overly optimistic and jolly? Do you deal with any weight issues?

I think for me it's a lot to do with the 5th house Jupiter is in. I also used to play a lot of poker and have been known to splurge a lot of cash on a whim in some gamble or risky venture. Also eating out at nice restaurants when I couldn't really afford it and spending tonnes of money on the weekend at expensive nightclubs that I couldn't afford either. All on a whim, it's like the logical side takes a back seat and instinct kicks in while I find myself spending my rent. If I did think then it would be something like "It will be alright, I'm sure I can make the money up somehow." And usually it was alright somehow but I never had a large surplus of money that I'd like to of had.

I'm getting better at not doing that now though. They say Jupiter in Capricorn improves a lot with age especially during the second half of life, and at 27 I'm feeling I'm on the verge of some major breakthroughs as I approach my Saturn return. There's a wealthy investor called Duncan Bannatyne on the UK Dragon's Den program who has Jupiter in Capricorn. He got kicked out of the Navy for throwing his officer off the deck, he went from job to job and was almost completely broke until he reached 30 and he setup his first business. Several years later he sold his businesses for over £60 million ($100m).

I've got Leo rising with my ruling planet in Aries square Jupiter, so I would imagine the square should affect me physically but I've never been overweight. I do find it incredibly easy to put on muscle though in a short amount of time. But I find I can loose it just as quick it seems if I get lazy / miss a few meals. That might have something to do with the Jupiter being in Capricorn, you have to work at maintaining the expansiveness I guess.

I figured Jupiter in the 5th house might make you prone to gambling. Jupiter is in Taurus right now in the 5th house. Have you felt the urge to gamble lately? I know I have, I even considered playing the stock market and that is risky. Gambling right now may not be such a risk for you though, since your Jupiter is in the 5th house. Have you ever played the lottery? Now may be the time.

I do believe having Jupiter on the sun brings a reasonable amount of "luck" like what you said in your previous statement. " I'm sure it will be alright" Jupiter is there to help us when we can't help ourselves. Since your Jupiter is in Capricorn in the 5th house..Maybe a career in speculative ventures is your calling and with Jupiter there you will certainly have luck. Jupiter in Capricorn will be on your side with all business dealings. Maybe you will be the next Duncan Bannatyne.....

I wish I knew what houses my signs were placed. The 12pm method says I'm a taurus rising, but I think I look more like an Aries rising. If I did have Aries rising that would place my Jupiter in the 1st house. And that would explain my weight issues. Since I'm a woman and have sun/jup aspect. The weight is mainly on my hips, giving me the pair shape:crying:....I think men tend to gain muscles faster then woman anyway, but with Jupiter in Cap..you may have to work harder to keep the muscular body like you were saying.

Neither.

That would not be the correct interpretation.

Does anyone else have this aspect?

So what if they do?

tell me how does it affect you.

My Sun is in Capricorn and My Jupiter is in Aries

Natal Charts are unique, like fingerprints. I have Sun square Jupiter, but for me to tell you how it affects me would be pointless and totally stupid, not to mention irresponsible, unless your Sun and Jupiter were situated exactly identical to my Sun and Jupiter.

My Sun is Peregrine in Gemini in the 8th House, but in the Decan of Jupiter. Jupiter is Oriental, in Pisces and in his own Term and Decan, and since Jupiter rules Pisces, that makes Jupiter very powerful (being in his own Sign, Term and Decan), but Jupiter is a Diurnal Planet that is Nocturnal in a Day Chart.

And while Jupiter and Sun square, and worse than that, Sun squares Jupiter from a House that he hates (Gemini), Jupiter does receive the Sun in his own Decan, and so Sun is not Malefic and does not impede Jupiter.

Your Sun is in Capricorn, the Fall of Jupiter. That would be like the man who just shot and killed your entire family and all of your friends banging on your door at 3:00 AM demanding to come into your home because he has something important to give you.

So if Sun is not between 0°-9° Capricorn (Jupiter's Decan) or between 12°-19° Capricorn (Jupiter's Term) then Jupiter does not receive Sun and Sun is Malefic and impedes Jupiter, preventing from working his magic.

On the other hand, Sun does receive Jupiter by Exaltation (Aries is the Exaltation of Sun). If Jupiter is in Aries, the Jupiter is Occidental of the Sun. Jupiter Occidental is not the same as Jupiter Oriental. And it matters if Jupiter is Nocturnal.

And too it matters if Jupiter or Sun are in Degrees of Increasing Fortune, Pitted Degrees, Azieme Degrees and if either is within 12° of one of the Nodes.

And that's how you look at aspects. Not all squares are bad, just as not all trines are good (in fact some trines are worse than squares).

I did buy a Euromillions ticket a few days ago actually. The jackpot is £67 million!

I also have this aspect (Jupiter also squares my Moon and Venus) with my Sun in Scorpio at the end of the 7th house and my Jupiter in Leo the 5th house.

I don't get the same feeling of the aspect that you do, I feel I have an impulsive and addictive personality so I counter-act this by not drinking, partying, smoking or doing a thing that I could possibly become addicted to. Sounds fun, right? Lol.

If anyone could shed some light on this aspect in my chart I'd greatly appreciate it.

Yep, I have it. Sun Pisces 12th, Jupiter Sagittarius 9th square (around one degree).

I don't know what to make of it honestly! Both houses are "spiritual" so I over do religion? :pouty:

Oh to be jolly! I wish this were true for me since I too share this aspect with you! But I am solemn most of the time. I can be very optimistic at times, but perhaps this may be due to an overabundance of fire signs in my chart. I believe you also have a lot of fire in your chart.

I share the same feelings and attitude as KING...I am impulsive and am prone to addictions, so I too try my best to avoid certain activities (not always successful, but that is another matter). And I am very much a gambler! Not in the sense that I like throw down c-notes in casinos, more like to the type that is willing to take chances in life. Most of the time things don't pan out, but somehow there is always a safety net to catch me, unexpectedly so too. So I guess it makes me both lucky and unlucky.

In regards to weight issues, I have my moments. Jupiter is located near the tail end of my 1st house (most natives with Jup in 1st usually have weight issues I've read). But I've got a really tight sun sextile saturn, and saturn conjunct ascendant, so this is kept in check...for the most part. Jupiter likes to indulge, and I fall victim to his temptations from time to time, lol.

You sound very aware about what you are prone to and susceptible of, so I would'nt be too worried about this one aspect. Actually, how many aspects to Jupiter do you have, and what are the aspects? This will probably help us determine how much of an impact this aspect has on you, since you're not certain of your birthtime.
