Progressed Moon opposite my Ascendant

Besides having prog. Mars square my CP Ascendant and my AQ Mercury, I have prog. Moon now in Cancer (still applying from the 6th) within 44 minutes of opposing my Capricorn Ascendant.

My transits look relatively fine and for the longest time I couldn't understand why I was having so many physical injuries until I looked at my progressions and saw the Mars affliction. I discuss this in another thread.

But the closer my prog. Moon gets to exact opposition to my ASC, the lonelier I feel. I now wake up in the middle of the night feeling so very alone. Normally loving solitude, I started to weep tonight because I realized that I have no loved ones left. In the past twelve years, I have lost family and friends in various ways...and now...I have no close friends and no family (I never married).

I found in a very old book on progressions that an opposing prog. Moon to one's Sun brings out one's separation from others, but it does not address the Ascendant. Has anyone experienced this?

Re: Progressed Moon opposite my Ascendant

i think you have to look at transits and how that may impact the progressed moon.

in 1999 - I had progressed moon conj transiting saturn on desc then into 7th house. also jupiter I think was also transiting taurus(7th H)(there was a grand cross occurring in fixed signs at this time - I think this connected with my sun in aqua)

the result was a break up of relationship that was very painful for me. I was not alone per se. I had friends. but felt very alone - the pain went quite deep and feel I had no one I could discuss this with. 'the usual you will get over it and meet someone else'.

i did seek counselling and as result changed a huge amount in my life. as transiting uranus conj my sun in 2001. I made a break for freedom.

this progressed moon conj transit of saturn has only just ended. I suppose looking back I have become even more self reliant. But it has been tough!

I have progressed Moon in my 7th now, but few months ago it was opposing my ascendant. I have my natal Moon in my 7th also and my Sun-Moon midpoint just few degrees before my descendant. It did bring me separation (divorce) when progressed Moon was conjunct transiting north node exactly on my Sun-Moon midpoint but I can`t say I exeperienced loneliness. I found a new job (also matter of the 6th house where the conjunciton occured), new friends (Moon is also ruler of my 3rd and transiting Uranus just entered Aries in my natal 11th) and a new love affair also at the time when progressed Moon mooved to exact opposition to my ascendant. This whole time my progressed Sun is exactly on my descendant. And this long Venus transit through Gemini (where my ascendant is) brought me a lot of social activity and opportunities for relationships, especially at the time when transiting Venus was opposing progressed Moon exactly on my asc-dsc axis (natally I have Venus-Moon sextile exact).

Re: Progressed Moon opposite my Ascendant

Thanks for your feedback, Caro and Sany. I realize now that many things have to be factored in to know what a progression to the Descendant brings. But it seems every story involves a "separation" of some kind, whether painful or for the good...or both.

My Capricorn ASC is also in the final stage of a 3-hit square from Saturn. The last hit will be over soon, thanks be. This square came not long after my 2nd Saturn Return (which involved the death of my dearest companion) and Pluto conjoining my Chiron in the 11th for a long time (with retrogrades), which seemed to wipe out friendships and involved the wounds that Chiron is noted for.

So this prog. Moon seems to be giving me full emotional realization, maybe closure, of this whole recent period of loss in my life.

Re: Progressed Moon opposite my Ascendant

A Moon`s progression through house puts our focus in that life area for some time. And when entering a house, leaving house or changing sign inside of a house it always brings some kind of change it that life area. So in this case of a 7th house, the changes could be in form of ending some of relationships or building new ones, depending on the other aspects you have (natal, transit and progressed). With Saturn squaring your ascendant at the same time some separations are inevitable and a feeling of loneliness and isolation is normal.

Re: Progressed Moon opposite my Ascendant

Very astute comments, wise observations, Sany.

Ever since my prog. Moon has been in my 6th, I've had a series of health issues, from the worst flu I've ever had, to a concussion (just a quick summary).

But during the past couple of months, as my prog. Moon has neared the end of my 6th House, I have had more doctors' appointments, medical tests (and even physical therapy) than I've ever had in my life! I've seen five doctors, had the severest pain I've ever experienced (extreme sciatica), 2 MRIs, 4 x-rays, physio, acupuncture, you name it. Even my cat (6th House & pets) accidentally ingested some of my medicine and acted like he was drunk, stumbling around, unable walk straight or jump on the sofa.

My cat's fine now and so am I. So much of this was much ado about nothing, and I had little say in any of it, getting referred here and there. A novice chiropractor caused the sciatica, my doctor disagreed with the neurosurgeon who disagreed with the physical therapist about what was wrong. It all turned out that my sciatic nerve had been badly bruised by an old massage machine and I had serious runaway inflammation (prog. Mars square my Ascendant and Mercury?), and once that was stopped, it was over - with much unneeded expense and time and worry. No more.

I've just reconnected with very close friends from the past, so maybe the 7th House is now coming into play.

Thanks for the reassurance about loneliness being a normal effect of t. Saturn squaring my Ascendant. That actually made me feel better.

Byron
